The Abidah has real potential and it’s location is fantastic, but oh dear there were so many issues, most of which could be sorted out with effective management and staff training. There were so many inconsistencies at the hotel many because the staff had not been briefed or given appropriate training. The meals did not resemble the photos on the hotel website . Lunch was better than the evening meal. Lunch was served but the evening meal was like a school canteen. Meals were often tepid or cold and the staff serving did not know what the ingredients of dishes were. Plates were cold and often they ran out. Waiting staff had not been shown how to scan a room to anticipate what was needed or which clients were waiting. The tables in the bar area were often left wet and with used glasses on them. This area is also too small, there are not enough seats for guests. The reception area was only manned until 10.00pm. The ladies toilet in the restaurant/ bar area was out of action for 10 of our 11 day stay. On 2 days there was a 3 hour wait for beach towels. Beach service did not include setting out sun beds which was a problem for some people. The beach drinks service finished at about 3.30pm and on Election Day was non existent. Our room was large and clean but again there were inconsistencies with the cleaning of the room. One cleaner was very good and it took 30 minutes to thoroughly clean the room. Another asked if we wanted the room doing and then only stayed for 5 minutes and left without leaving enough towels. Reception staff were always pleasant but seemed unable to resolve issues. What a great decision that was ! The hotel is very good and with an all inclusive tariff the location was perfect. Our room was terrific - one of the best we have ever stayed in. The staff overall were great - one or two in the restaurant were a bit surly which other guests complained about but apart from that they were great. A special mention for Ray and Shakir who looked after us in the bar and at the beach. Catherine who looked after our room and who was always very cheerful. Also Shian and all staff on reception. I would echo Mark's previous comments about the pool area and seating which would be a great addition. Also that the bar area lacked a little atmosphere in the evenings. Overall a fantastic holiday so thanks to all the staff. Read less

Fantastic Hotel. Newly built and starting to recover from COVID crisis. Rooms are huge with sea views and hot tubs on the balcony. Fantastic Hotel. Newly built and starting to recover from COVID crisis. Rooms are huge with sea views and hot tubs on the balcony. Set at 40 degrees our hot tub was just too hot for us in a hot climate. It was locked and although we repeatedly asked the front desk the temperature was never reduced. The place just needs a tiny bit of love and care with dead plants in pots and very often the pool area is not cleaned of glasses and bottles and sun beds not orderly. The bar area lacks any ambience and the only outside drinking area is around the pool on sun beds. In the evening it would be nice to have some tables and chairs outside. These minor niggles apart we had a wonderful holiday with very friendly staff and the all inclusive is above average. Ray and Dylan are constantly circling the pool or nipping down to the beach providing drink and food to both areas. I tend not to drink alcohol during the day but Ray did his utmost to change this habit and usually succeeded with a cold beer just suddenly appearing ( how could I refuse ?) The food overall was excellent. Breakfast was a little basic but satisfying. Lunch and dinner alternated from buffet to a la carte and food was always good quality. The surrounding area is very quiet with the exception of Oistins fish fry which is only a five minute walk away. The beach is a 50 meter walk with white sand and crystal clear water, turtles are everywhere. All staff fantastic, Thankyou. Read less

The water is turquoise and clear and the waves are stunning to watch. It's a very short walk to Oistins fish fry. The food at the hotel was excellent and the staff are extremely helpful and cheerful. The beach service for drinks and lunch was frequent and much appreciated. Our room was spacious , clean and comfortable. We have holidayed in many 5 star hotels, for the money we paid this was amazing. There are lots of beautiful places to walk to locally and it's very easy to catch the local bus. Everywhere felt very safe. Thank you everyone, will definitely recommend and return Read less

We have just returned from a lovely 11 night holiday at this hotel. Our room was fantastic, very comfortable lovely balcony with hot tub. We had a slight leak in the toilet in our room which we reported to reception. They arranged to get it fixed but when the plumber was delayed a couple of days the management arranged for us to move to a lovely room at the front of the hotel the following day which had the bonus of 2 balconies. Great service. Reception also arranged for the doctor to come to our room to do our Covid tests for our return flight home which was a great service. All of the staff were fantastic and very friendly. Particular mention goes to Ray for food & drink service by the pool and beach. He is exceptionally hard working and always made sure we had plenty of drinks and brought lunch to our sunbeds on several occasions which was great! Also Dylan was great around the pool as was Shalisa, Lenicia and Amanda in the restaurant - really fabulous girls we had such a laugh with them. A real asset to this hotel. The barmen were great too as were reception staff and cleaners. We had a la carte on our first night in the restaurant but it was buffet for the other 10 nights. Food was excellent. It did say that there was afternoon tea every afternoon but we never saw this served so not sure if that is still the case. Our only criticism for the restaurant was that breakfast was cleared away earlier than the stated times and we are quite late risers on holiday. Though when we asked the staff did still bring back out what we wanted. The beach was incredible. Sand like talcum powder though the waves are quite strong. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely visit again so thanks again to all the amazing staff from the cleaners up to the management. They all deserve a pay rise! Read less
