Just got back from an amazing holiday at the Abidah by Accra hotel and it’s fair to say it was out of this world Staff can’t do enough for you, Hotel spotless and up to date, Food is a la carte and was very nice, Service at the beach was superb food and drink was brought down everyday with a menu to choose from, This hotel is spot on if your looking for a relaxing holiday with a bus route and tours not far if you prefer a bit more lively. Neil is an absolute treasure, and very funny, and will serve you throughout the day/night. Jared is very friendly and helpful with an excellent service manner. Andrea and Tyrel the bar persons always pleasant and helpful. Sheila is always very pleasant and smiles a lot. Michelle is always happy to help on reception. There are so many more staff at this hotel I haven’t mentioned that should be, but would be here all day so sorry if I haven’t. So all in all a superb hotel with outstanding staff. Thank you for a lovely holiday. Read less

Eleven of us have just spent 9 nights here. June to November is low season which I hadn’t realised when we booked. I also hadn’t realised the hotel is in a residential area. Hotel, staff and food all amazing! Our room was at the back on the 3rd floor over looking gardens with a side sea view. Great sized room with separate toilet and sink and separate shower room with his and hers sinks. Bed very comfy. However, there are many cockerels that crow all hours of the night. Took us a few nights to get used to them and there crowing! Breakfast was served for you with different choices each day, including spicy corned beef hash, chicken samosas, spicy chickpeas, pop corn chicken, as well as the usual breakfast items. Lunch and dinner menus were a la carte, with the menus changing every two days. Food amazing especially the huge shrimp served several ways and portions huge, especially the pasta dishes. You can even have two starters if you like. We only had buffet for dinner once, which again had a huge choice. Bar staff were great, even more so when we tipped! However, the alcohol is local and not branded except for the mount gay rum. The bottles on display of Absolute vodka and Sapphire gin are fake and filled with water they admitted! We had lots of little showers of rain and one thunderstorm on the Friday night so couldn’t visit Oistins Fish fry as planned. It is approx a 10min walk from the hotel. We went on the Saturday night and chose Pats as the queue was huge and all the locals were in the queue. We queued for about 45 mins but the marlin, macaroni pie, coleslaw and fried chicken well worth it. We also went on a catamaran to swim with the turtles. This cost 100 US$ and was a fab day . You can get cheaper trips. We spoke with Shackie the barman, if he knew of anyone who could take us on an island tour. As it happens his dad Steve had a mini bus taxi and charged us 40 US$. He provided beer, Prosecco and water and snacks and took us wherever we wanted to go, Kensington oval, Mount Gay distillery and Rihanna’s old house and new house at One Sandy Lane. He took us to the other side of the island for lunch . He would have taken us anywhere we wanted to go. Again you could probably get this cheaper but we felt safe with him. We also went to the sister hotel using the hotel shuttle. Had a great day there, in the waves and pool with swim up bar and a great lunch. The hotel, was very quiet though only 20% full as was the Abidah. The only complaint would be there is nowhere to sit at night. We ended up taking tables and chairs out of the bar area, outside to the pool area. We had a brill time and would recommend this hotel Read less

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff , we had sun loungers , and umbrella set up on beach each day and a cool box brought to us full of drinks stored in ice. You can also have lunch on beach should you want to, towels provided for beach and pool. The food was amazing and cooked to order , 5 star every time ,full branded drinks and not short measures ! Not the sort of location if you want a night life but we knew that before we went. Sandy beach , sea to swim in that was warm . small pool with loungers , perfect weather , huge rooms , and balcony. No complaints at all. Read less

This hotel is not a big one but it 's not too small either...just the perfect size for a personalised and intimate service. The rooms are very spacious and we got two king size beds. The balcony is also large despite having a jacuzzi on it. The staff were very pleasant but they were occasions were they allowed the very stringent covid rules dominate how they gave us a service (e.g. on a Sunday the restaurant shut at 6pm with no other options available but they later delivered some food to us after realising what had happened). The beach which is more or less opposite (Miami Beach) is one of the best in Barbados and still never too busy, pure white sand and pale blue sea. The area is very quiet and the fish bars in Oistins (just a 5 mins walk away) are generally excellent and offer a wide selection of fresh fish cooked in front of you. Barbados itself is a great island of two halves (calmer western Caribbean sea coast and more rugged and wild eastern Atlantic coast) but equally stunning in their own special way. However, Bridgetown was a massive disappointment and certainly not built for tourists, avoid if possible...nothing pleasant to see there. There are other quality destinations on the island such as Hunte's (botanical) Gardens up in the hills which is small but fascinating...well worth seeing! Generally, we were so pleased with this holiday that we booked it again straight after coming back. Read less

The staff were lovely and very attentive. It is a short walk from Oistins which has a Friday Night Fish Fry. It is easy to get to the rest of the island via taxi or renting a car. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, we are looking forward to going back. - Dr Phillips Read less
