We booked our 30th wedding Anniversary week at the Sands hotel And have been blown away.the holiday from Day one has been amazing .we got an upgrade to pool/full ocean view two storey suite! Amazing.plus a Fancy balloon and celebratory banner on the bed .Thank you Everyone thing and everyone working at the hotel it was amazing.staff so professional and friendly all the time. The food should set a presidence to other all inclusives. Mainly Al a carte serving three courses from a choice of three most days either lunch or dinner..so much better than buffets.the food was always well prepared and cooked to a high standard was tasty regardless of what you ordered and I must congratulate the chefs both the restaurant and the Noir restaurant both outstanding. The cocktails were also delicious and prepared well unlike most AI hotel drinks. So a big shoutout to the guy who delivered us drinks ans snacks on the beach..He was great and thank you Our anniversary meal was at the NOIR restaurant in the complex and included in our package! It was a wow from us and worthy of any Michelin star restaurants.also a lovely glass tray celebrating our anniversary written in choclate with another dessert attached.Thank you. The beach, sun beds all pristine and laid Out each day and the parasols dug in each day (in that heat too) Clean towels for the sun beds available each day.. Lovely wicker sun beds and padded cushions by the shallow Pool also .. I must give a massive shout out to the lovely Raquel from the restaurant.nothingness too much trouble she was cute funny professional and friendly.we loved her and a great big thank you to her.. Our only niggle the whole holiday was there being no air conditioning in the downstairs lounge making it unbearable to sit in there.it would make a massive difference. We caught a couple of the reggae reggae buses to Oistins (missed Friday due to travelling and Saturday a bit quiet) and Bridgetown.somw more Safer feeling than others !! But a great cheap way to travel . We visited Harbour lights on on their party nights wed and Thurs! It's a must to visit .What a night and one worth visiting and well worth the £85 each to go including great food and all drinks and transport. We will be back and Next time hire a car ! We had an excellent All-Inclusive holiday at The Sands in Barbados. We were there for 10 nights mid-September 2024. We arrived late afternoon having travelled nearly 18 hours in total from Scotland. Check in was straight forward and we were offered a rum punch to cool us down in the 32 degree heat when we arrived. You are then shown to your room at which point we discovered that our ocean view room had been upgraded free of charge to one of the penthouse suites - what a brilliant start to our holiday. The suite is very roomy, tastefully decorated and the views from the room and of course the very large balcony are absolutely stunning. Table chairs and sun loungers are on the balcony in case just want a chill out while admiring the ocean. The pool area is well laid out and close to the bar ( although the pool / barman guy made it his life’s work to ensure you never needed to get up for a drink), the beach is a further 10 metres on so everything is nearby. Towels for the pool and beach are provided by the hotel. Breakfast is buffet style which seems to cater for all tastes. On arrival you book both lunch and evening meal at a time of your choice. Generally there are 3 choices for each of the three courses a seafood, a meat or chicken and a veggie for the main course. I found something I liked each mealtime so had no issue with this. We also ate in the Noir restaurant twice and enjoyed it both times. N.b gents must wear covered shoes and long trousers to eat here. Overall the Hotel is quite small and stylish, they were doing some minor refurbishment work while we were there which did not affect us at all - but it is making a difference and it will only get even better. Some minor damage was caused on the beach during the hurricane in June. Lastly what really makes this hotel are the staff !! It would be a shame to single anyone out as we found THEM ALL excellent. Out and about in Barbados, it is clear that the Bajan people appreciate what the tourist industry does for their economy. Nice, helpful people who seem to love life and have a smile on their face all the time. Outside the hotel duty free shopping in Bridgetown and the Cattemeran cruise were both excellent. Loved Barbados and loved The Sands Hotel - would definitely return there. Read less

Dinning in the main restaurant was lovely the ambiance and food was gorgeous. My only complaint was the heat and the service we received from our waitress. Whose name if I remember correctly was Shakea. The drinks were good along with our starters. Up until we had to mention how long our main course was taking to come out. Our waitress mood abruptly changed and she become more irritated and hostile when approached. It left a really bad taste in our mouth when she rolled her eyes and sighed aggressively at us ,while walking away thinking we didn’t see her, after inquiring a second time about our course. Our food finally arrived and we quickly ate and went back to our rooms. I would recommend visiting The Sands Hotel but I do hope the staffs demeanor does change so other guest don’t have this same encounter and feel more welcomed. Read less

The staff were really friendly and attentive and couldn’t do enough for you. We had a slight hiccup with the room we had been allocated on the first night but give credit where it is due the management sorted it out the very next morning and we were upgraded to a beach front duplex and this room was amazing with stunning views. Thank you Renee and Rebecca for helping , you both delivered on your promises. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the stay and Barbados and would have no hesitation to recommend this hotel. We stayed at the sands on a 12 night all inclusive package with TUI. Welcome cocktail on arrival and check in via QR code was quick and straightforward. We booked a duplex suite which was on the 3rd floor and gave us a lovely view across the pool to the ocean. The suite was simply furnished but perfectly adequate and the bedroom and bathroom were clean and the air conditioning kept the room nicely chilled. The lounge had access to a spacious balcony but was not air conditioned and the balcony only had a single day bed so not really practical for two people. My only (minor) issue with the bedroom was the bed which felt small to us - it was a standard double and we are used to a king size. The amenities were basic , just a single bar and outdoor dining area beachside. Breakfast was buffet with eggs cooked to order, plenty of choice and all fresh. Lunch and Dinner varied from order off the menu offering a choice of meat, fish or veggie options, three courses, or buffet serve yourself. There were also poolside snack options of burgers, hot dogs and chicken strips all with chips. The hotel also offered al la carte dining at Noir but limited visits to once per week of stay. We visited twice and thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant and the food was definitely a much better experience than the other restaurant but it was disappointing to find on our second visit that the menu was unchanged and so we ended up having the same food twice. Noir has about 30 covers inside with air conditioning which makes it very intimate and a comfortable dining experience. On our second visit the inside area was fully booked so we were seated on the balcony with just a fan to offer little cooling. The hotel has poolside sunbeds and plenty more on the beach, we never had a problem getting a sunbed where we wanted to be and fresh towels were available through the day on request. Water sport equipment from snorkels & masks, paddle boards and kayaks to pool inflatables were all available and each day there was a different itinerary of activities available if you want to join in with something. Staff at the Sands were all very helpful and friendly and everyone had a smile all day long. The management were very visible and approachable and also helpful. They took time to check on guests and make sure everyone was happy. Location of the hotel was also good if you wanted to get out and about with bars and restaurants within walking distance or a short taxi ride away. I would be happy to return to this small well run hotel and felt overall it was good value for money Read less
