Very basic resort. The reception staff could be friendlier and more smiles. In the bathroom, one drawer was unfinished or broken with a damaged front. The door had no weatherstripping so allowed biting bugs in. Kettle only -- on coffee maker. Hallway was poorly lighted. Walls were so thin that you could hear everything in the hallway.… Read more

Just returned today after a 10 day stay in Time Out. We were room only so we were pleased we had a kettle and fridge, also an iron. We were able to make a cuppa and a sandwich on days when we stayed around the pool. We found the majority of the staff to be pleasant and helpful. Our room was cleaned when we left the notice on the door for it to be done. We ate in Amigos a couple of times but my husband was overcharged and I had to go back to the bar and sort it out. There were a lot of locals who were noisy and a couple of times there was some very loud music playing till 1.30 a m. Overall we enjoyed our stay as it was our first time visiting Barbados but we did make enquiries about places with better facilities and they appeared to be better value. The location was fine, 15 minute walk to catch a local bus. 3.50 bbd$ each way. One receptionist was particularly helpful I think she was called Larinda??? She was always pleasant whilst another one could barely acknowledge us when we enquired about local buses and trips, she definitely shouldn’t be on reception as she didn’t give a good first impression of the hotel. On our last day we thought we’d spend it relaxing round the pool before our late evening flight but they were cutting the trees around there so it kind of put a damper on it for us. Whilst I realise these jobs have to done they could be done much earlier in the day so as not to cause too much disruption. Read less

Before I start my review. I am not a complainer and have always given this hotel a 5-star review pre-pandemic and bought a lot of custom to the Time out hotel. Housekeeping Service was very poor. I support sustainability, however; I did not know it extended to towels provided every 2 days and no toilet roll unless you ask for it! I had to ask reception/security 4 times for toilet roll and there were not easily accessible as the night security had to unlock the storeroom and climb over boxes. The first time I asked reception whether my room is getting cleaned. This is after a beach day; I came back late afternoon and room was not swept or mopped out and beds were not made. Reception sent a housekeeper who I thought was management as she always had a clipboard with her. She knocked and rudely said you had full service yesterday i.e., sheet change, towels so I interrupted and asked does that mean I don’t get my room cleaned? She said she will get it cleaned… never happened. Ms Clipboard knocked on the door regularly asking what I need but I thought it was over and above housekeeping e.g., extra towels. I did not realise I had to say yes please I would like my room cleaned today and a toilet roll and 2 fresh towels. I thought that was a compulsory service! So, when I said no thank you, we got nothing at all. After the first complaint to reception about the state of my room, that set a precedent for the remainder of my stay!! Absolute filth! However, I must say a massive thank you to Aldine who cleaned our room to a first-class level but that was approximately on day 10. There is a caveat here though, this does not apply to all rooms, it applies to the housekeeper you get as my family (3) stayed in another part of the hotel and received a daily cleaning service with no issues. Hotel Room and Equip The pool view room had comfortable beds and a lovely powerful shower. TV, a lot of good films (when it was in service) Fridge – That thing would defrost ice. Just used for storage Iron – Black mark on iron which marked my dress. I didn’t notice until after that the mark was melted plastic. Lots of storage space within the room and a nice size. Locals The locals are offered staycation deals which may mean a weekend or a day pass which I have no problem with at all. However, the behaviour of some of these locals was appalling. The noise by the pool affected the afternoon relaxation/snooze on the sunbeds that I had to leave the pool area. On the last count there were 21 locals in the pool (all connected) and all the overseas visitors left the area as there was no room in the pool as well as the anti-social behaviour. I went to my room and locals were screaming and banging doors of there rooms and we had them either side of us, but I did not complain after the housekeeping experience. I just made my mind up it will be last time at the Time out. Amigos Restaurant Food The first evening we arrived we had a meal there. My mum was mortified as the chicken wings she ordered had blood in it. The first morning we had breakfast which took ages to be served and I have never seen grey baked beans in my life!! Nasty. That was the last time we ate at Amigos. Drink We had a fridge in our room that will not freeze ice so had to go to the bar to ask for ice. The first time we asked a bald bartender for ice, he looked at us as if we went and knocked at his front door and asked for something from his personal supply. The second time I bought drinks, so I wasn’t made to feel so bad asking for ice. I ordered 3 X sprites from the same bartender which came to $18 BBD! This was a plastic cup which holds about 250ml but was filled to the top with ice so therefore I would say we got 100-150ml sprite. At least I got my ice! 😊 I went another time to the bar and was served by another bar tender and asked for 2 X sprites which came to $8BBD so do the maths. You are being ripped off dependent on who serves you. I never bought another drink for the duration of my stay!! friendliness of staff Reception was quite cold, and you were made to feel you are being a nuisance. The only good experience was check-in. A big thanks to Sabrina (old school staff) Aldine, night security and the maintenance guys around the gardens/pool. All were lovely and professional. Top class customer experience. Will I stay here again? Absolutely not!! Read less

Ive stayed here before and it was a different experience each time. This time everything was going well until i got an alert that my card (A CARD A NEVER USE) was being used to make an online purchase at a local barbadian fast food restaurant. That card has been in my purse since i got to Barbados and was still in my room when i returned but apparently someone stole the card information when i was gone. There was a safe on the room but it was locked and i was in a rush. Unfortunately thst cost me a lot of stress and unnecessary waste of my time. I cut that card off so now fast forward 3 wks later. I got an alert from another card that was in the wallet that a purchase was made from a Barbadian supermarket, meanwhile im in America. The perpetrator made several attempts to use the rest of cards, i put blocks on them so i got the alerts. Long story short the police is aware, the hotel management is aware but im sure the person is still employed there as they continue their investigation. So walk with the important items or do whatever it takes to use the safe. because THEY STEAL. The audacity of this person is real, they must've thought i wouldn't see the charges and they could've ran my card up. SORRY BOO!!! I hope you lose you job and never get the chance to do this again.
