I recently stayed at Waves for 10 days with my mum. We had a split level ocean view room which was beautiful. There's a double bed in the main room and up the stairs is a sofa bed, balcony, tea/coffee making area and sink. Stunning views over the ocean. Mum would have liked an armchair in the room and I would have appreciated a little desk as I have to work whilst I'm on holiday, but these are only small points. There is a flat screen TV on both levels. We attended the 'orientation meeting' on the first morning, which is held in the coffee shop for all the newcomers. I had expected it to be a mini tour of the property to see where everything was, but this wasn't the case. The lady providing information on the hotel was regularly interrupted by the staff operating the coffee machine etc, which meant we were sat there for around 20 minutes. My advice would be not to bother as everything she said is written in the information pack which you are given on arrival. Better to spend that time on the beach! There are 2 restaurants and both are lovely. All the staff are incredibly friendly. Inclusive wines not too bad at all. Fantastic drinks service on the beach. Nothing is too much trouble. The water taxi which runs throughout the day to the other hotels in the Elegant range is a real bonus. Very enjoyable. The adults only pool on the spa side is lovely and quiet. Very relaxing. The inclusive spa treatments are good too. The only thing which spoiled our holiday to a certain extent was the fact you aren't allowed to have a bottle of wine in the mini fridge in your room unless you buy it! You can drink as much as you like in the lounge/bar downstairs. The best view of the beautiful Caribbean sunset was from our balcony. We would have liked to have poured ourselves a glass of wine and enjoyed the sunset from there each evening. I find this rule of not being able to do this completely bizarre! I was offered no kind of apology or explanation regarding this strange rule. Other than that, we very much enjoyed our stay. I will return and would highly recommend. Read less

From the moment we arrived, we felt instantly relaxed and at home. The staff are all so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We arrived late at night and were impressed by the look of the place, with the modern, bajan decor, sound of the waves from the sea, lush greenery and the welcome drink 'grapefruit cooler'. And from the moment we woke up on our first morning, it just kept getting better & better. The beach is beautiful, lots of beds and very comfortable - the beach staff even arrange the parasols for you if would like more shade and they have a constant drinks service, plus cool towels, frozen fruit and ice cream, handed to you at various points throughout the day. My husband was recovering from an injury, and without even having to ask, the staff said they were looking to move us from the spa pool room we had booked (as there were lots of stairs) to a room in the sea view side. We ended up in a sea view suite. I have to say, it was absolutely stunning - sitting on the balcony watching the evening sunsets was a very special experience. I would highly recommend ensuring you book a room in the main part of the hotel (rather than in the spa rooms across the road) as the main hotel is more recently renovated and the room we had was really modern, spacious, lovely big bed, and a lovely new modern bathroom. I would recommend taking earplugs as the ceiling fans were a little noisy (although provided a lovely breeze - so we didn't need the A/C at night). Overall, the food was excellent. I have to give a special mention to Cheryl who made the most incredible breakfast omelettes to order! Plus the banana bread was a favourite of mine. The food in both restaurants for the evening meals was excellent and we especially enjoyed the oriental one, where the sushi was delicious. Plus, we loved the snack bar for lunch - their wraps and salads were really tasty, and the afternoon tea was a really nice touch too. This hotel prides itself on wellness and health and we really enjoyed the healthy food and reasonable portions. There is a sausages and bacon etc at breakfast if you want it, but also a wide range of fresh fruit, seeds, poached eggs etc, so its really choice how healthy you want to be! Outside of the Waves hotel, we took the water taxi to the other sister hotels and spent the day at the Colony Club, which was also a lovely hotel. Top tip - go there on a Sunday, when they have a steal band and fantastic Sunday lunch buffet - the seafood and fish were something to remember! (but not included in the all inclusive) We'd also recommend getting the local yellow bus which was really fun. We took a short trip down to Holetown which was well worth a visit. There is so much to see on the island and so hard to tear yourself away from the luxury and peace of the hotel; we'd love to return & stay for longer and get out to see a bit more. As I said, all of the staff were incredible but we have to give a special mention to Chad, who was really friendly and couldn't do enough for us and looked after us so well on the beach. Thanks also to Christine, Jacquie, Crystal, Ryan, Pamela, Oliver & Jennifer. And overall thank you to everyone at Waves - we have travelled a lot, but never experienced such excellent customer service; just really lovely people who care about you, always said good morning and happy to help in whichever way you needed. I would love to be back there right now, sipping a rum cooler, while watching the sunset on the beach....heaven! We will be back for sure. Read less

We stayed as a couple for a week in January 2019 and were delighted by our time here. The many thoughtful extras that we received were both surprising and delightful. Relaxing on the beach snorkelling and bathing we were attended to by staff bring drinks from the bar, Ice Cream and sprays to keep us cool. We also had free head and body massages, which were gorgeous. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff. The hotel room itself was excellent (We did get a free upgrade) and was right on the beach front. The sea was a little churned when we first arrived and visibility wasn't good, but at the end our stay the visibility had improved. We saw Gold spotted Snake Eel, Loggerhead Turtle and a myriad of fish: Trumpet-fish, File fish, Porcupine fish, Sturgeons and a huge shoal of Anchovies plus many others that were bright and colourful. The beach had sandy and stony areas with some corals. They only downside was that the food although of high quality was a little lacking in variation for vegetarians and more so for vegans. They do have a separate vegetarian menu and were very responsive when I requested something off the menu, but you do have to ask. Overall though this has to be up there as one of my favourite stays and I have been to a lot of hotels!! Read less
