Yet another excellent holiday - 32 years now since we first visited and still love the hotel as much as ever. As soon as we arrived, we received that special Calabash warm welcome and that friendliness from everyone at Calabash never ceased from start to finish. As ever lovely to recognise so many staff who have been there many years. Our room - de luxe suite was excellent , well equipped and positioned and kept so spotless by the lovely housekeeping team. We always love the cocktails and canapes - the start to a lovely evening and thanks to the team who always kept an eye out for when we returned from the gym. The gym, incidentally, is one of the best equipped of the many hotel gyms we have experienced - spacious and very well equipped . The Rhodes Restaurant is still a great example of what a top restaurant should be. The ambience is special, the menu is excellent , especially with the daily specials and the service is very professional and yet lightly informal at the same time. A very strong professional team led by Michael and SherLyn with George who always seems to know what you want to drink before you do! We also liked the Chefs circulating amongst guests as it is important to gain feedback - almost certainly mainly compliments! We loved that a couple of times we mentioned favourites and they appeared on the menu the next day! Then this year we were able to try out the new Izakaya which we visited twice and thoroughly enjoyed - a welcome addition. The Beach Club restaurant is equally good , the setting is great and again service is very good led by Joray, Desiann and all the excellent staff .We love the beach bar which is still such a lovely hub, especially after an energetic game of shuffleboard! Thanks to Leslie Ann , Mickey and the team for looking after us so well at the beach and the bar. The beach team were excellent , always on hand to set up your favourite spot on the beach and frequent soft drinks and also the occasional sail and more frequent kayak and stand up board trips. A very professional team at reception , never ceasing to smile and always ready to help. Not forgetting the garden and maintenance who were always smiling and keeping the grounds and resort in excellent condition. Yoga was excellent and the food classes were fun and informative. The new Scubatech team continue to provide some great dives and snorkelling together with the various watersports available. Even managed to fit in spa treatments which were excellent. We enjoyed the varied entertainment every evening and particularly the steel band who were excellent. For us what continues to make Calabash so enjoyable and one of the best hotels we stay at ( and why they win so many awards ) is the attention to detail and professionalism and friendliness of ALL the staff . So, many thanks to Adele and Beth for making it all happen through their wonderful staff. We can't wait to see you all again before too long and especially learning of all the plans for the next year or so - very exciting ( that includes the challenge to Beth to reinstate the small 9 hole putting area which we all used to enjoy so much! ) . They knew one of us couldn't eat fish or seafood, they knew what drinks we preferred, they had coffee ready for us early in the morning before the restaurant was officially open. The beach is fantastic, the rooms are lovely, the food is good. We missed taking advantage of the spa this trip but previously it was terrific. When we left, the staff actually came out to say good bye. Our little slice of heaven! It's hard to find a negative when our family had such a lovely time. This was our third stay here, our fourth in Grenada and it lives up to our expectations and more! Read less

This was our second visit to Calabash and it was just as good as the first. Indeed in many ways it was even better!. On arrival you are ‘welcomed home’ by the owners and staff and it feels exactly that. We were a little nervous this time as my husband is now more disabled. How silly of us! Every single member of staff were always on hand if necessary and I have to single out Kareem, Vaughan and Calvin, the wonderful beach boys. They reallly looked after us all and especially Peter. Vaughan took him sailing for what was probably the last time and also out in the kayak, something we thought impossible. My very very grateful thanks to them. Desk-Ann and her team in the Beach Club were both as delightful and professional as ever. And how happy were we to find Coconut shrimp on the menu occasionally. Our room was ideal for anyone with mobility issues and I really can recommend Calabash for anyone with such a problem. Not something I do very often. I could write so much more but our thanks to the Garbutt family, all the staff, visible and invisible, for making our last long haul holiday so memorable We will never forget you all Read less

The Calabash is, without doubt, an exquisite resort. A beautiful lush setting, space to spread out and relax with your every need taken care of. The ethos of the hotel is to treat you like family. The Calabash is, without doubt, an exquisite resort. A beautiful lush setting, space to spread out and relax with your every need taken care of. The ethos of the hotel is to treat you like family. That “Welcome Home” greeting upon arrival, which we have experienced at so many hotels over the years, always gets a little eye roll from me. But strangely, the more we stayed at the Calabash, the more I realised these weren’t empty words. You do become family. Your happiness is their happiness, your pain is theirs. The food is generally very good. Always try and order from the daily special page at Rhodes. Breakfast was a treat and lunch was a hearty affair. The staff…were, without doubt…fab-u-lous. 10/10 from me. Andrew (head cocktail waiter) was hugely talented. Brittney and Vaughn on the beach went the extra country mile to meet our needs. Abby was a beautiful, friendly girl. Stevens, with that sultry French accent, also gets recognition for his kindness. Our room was modern, clean and perfect. We had a pool suite and were blown away by the modern decor and it’s so nice to have a pool to dive into…esp as it was so vvvv hot. When we were there the clientele were of the more mature variety. (And we’re no spring chickens). This is NOT party central. There was no reggae grooving going down, Mon. I would have preferred to see a band play local music than a plinking pianist. Lastly, but not least, Beth and Adele are consummate professionals. Mum and Dad must be so proud of their continued achievements. The Calabash is def in very safe hands. We will be back. Read less
