We stayed at La Luna this January 2022. We don't do reviews but this one had to be done . We travel as much as we can and in doing so we look for unique new places . We try and enjoy and learn about the culture , history and its People. This is whether we are visiting the mid west or a remote town in Colorado , so when we ventured off to Grenada it was no different. If we had to say, the people of Grenada are exceptional ! Because of the pandemic we stayed very close to our area for obvious reasons. What we experienced from everyone who intertwined with us on the property was exceptional service , friendliness and genuine love and caring whether you were the grounds keeper, service attendant for your room, yoga instructor, or the Host that greeted you on your arrival. They are all Ambassadors of Grenada! If you are looking for fancy glass stucco buildings this place is not for you. If you're looking for high cotton then stick with the Ritz. La Luna is a very special place and experience. We stayed 11 days and it was as if we were stranded in paradise lush green palms and coconuts crystal blue water.. It was the real deal! The food was delicious and the staff ensures to your every need swiftly . I could almost mention every staff member but that would not do it justice because they all were special in their own right. We thought the price was right for the amenities. If it were priced any different we would probably pass. Like I said its not the Ritz nor do you ever want it to be. Trust me we enjoy that as well. So here is what we could say for improvement why ? because nothing is that perfect . Since the web site mentioned an Italian owner and flare we expected to be greeted by the owner in this enchanted place especially since there are only 16 units. We have been to Italy many times and almost all Italians are inviting to their establishments . On another note, sprucing up some aspects of the property could be in order. They can only clean so much and the staff did that exceptionally well . Maybe a steel drum player or some type of entertainment would be nice. Lastly the bar menu needs more choices. I know things have been tough with the pandemic but its over and we need to move on. We enjoyed our stay at Laluna & will most likely return . Read less

The Beachfront cottage was amazing. Simple but had everything you need just steps from the beach. The staff was so kind and attentive. My wife and I each had a massage each day we were there and they were amazing! Yoga in the morning was wonderful as well. I don't personally plan my trips around food but if I did, I may have given 4 stars instead of 5. The Italian restaurant had wonderful pasta and fresh bread but each of the seafood entrees I tried were overcooked to where I stopped ordering the seafood. Again, this wasn't a big deal for me but the restaurant may fall a bit short on some dishes for others. Either way we will be going back to Grenada and back to Laluna at some point in the future. Just incredible! Read less

The room was very clean. The bed was the most comfortable one we have had in a while. The room is a bit rustic. That is not bad thing. The bathroom is attached to the room, but it is basically outside. The room has what they call a plunge pool. It is very small, it would be better served if it was converted into a jaccuzi. The beach is small and private. Due to the time of the year, it was quite windy, and the water was a bit rough. We liked the fact that this beach did not have really any traffic on it other than the guests that were staying at the hotel. The food was quite good. And the service was even better. The thing we could not stop talking about was Laluna's New Years Party. It was FANTASTIC. If you are in Grenada for New Years - this is a must attend event. Great food, great service, and great company! Read less

My husband and I stayed here for a not long enough first time to Grenada. It was truly a remarkable property with a wonderful group of staff. We had a few minor issues that were resolved right away when we checked in - safe needed a new battery, hairdryer was melted from the open air bathroom and the heat. Most annoying was the water running out during most showers. Perhaps the pump could use an upgrade or some maintenance? The property itself was exquisite with absolutely non stop views from all over. We stayed in a room at the very top of the property and had an unobstructed view. This did mean the stairs...about 80 down to the main property, and 80 back up. Keep it in mind if you have mobility or orthopedic issues. It was grueling but what a way to walk off the calories from the sweet island drinks! Speaking of drinks, the island itself could use a bit of an overhaul on their cocktail programs. Most cocktail menus were loaded with sweet drinks so I was very grateful the kind bartenders at Laluna were happy to make fresh cucumber juice and vodka for me as an alternative to the more sugary drinks. (It was wonderful and should be added to the cocktail menu!) The week we were here the water was a little rough on some days but we did manage to get in. The beach is really private and generally all Laluna guests. There were guests who woke early and saved their favorite chairs daily which is a very off putting practice, but we still managed. There is plenty of shade from the sun if you need it and plenty of sunny spots as well. The music playing was absolutely fantastic! My spa service (massage) was "meh" and was not the best ever, but certainly not the worse. Not worth the $200 USD in my opinion. We had daily breakfast here and the fresh fruit juice of the day was always my favorite! Every meal was great. Laluna was a great retreat after a long day of exploring the island. I noticed some guests looked like they barely left, which isn't for me, but if you're inclined to hang around and just relax, it is a wonderful spot! This property may not be for everyone, it just depends on what you're looking for. Any small complaints I may have were offset by "it's the caribbean, and things are just a bit different" here. I would recommend this property for anyone who likes the rugged/upscale contrast. Of note the coffee in the room was a bust. The press didn't work and we had grounds in our coffee. It would have been wonderful to have a properly working keurig or similar in the room for coffee in the morning. Not the end of the world, but this would have made a difference. All in all, we really loved our stay here. If returning again, I doubt we would return as we don't repeat hotels, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't recommend it to someone who may find it to be for them. Aside from the gentlemen who was at the front desk during the day seeming as if we were bothering him at times, the staff was incredible. We had a few really wonderful conversations with housekeeping as well - not sure of names, but one woman in particular was really excited to hear what we explored on her beautiful island. Truly the people of Grenada were some of the kindest we've encountered. Guests were happy to be here, as were we! Thank you for the lovely stay! Read less

Great hotel, service, and food! Thank you! The cottage had a great view and privacy. It was true paradise. The air conditioned bedroom with an outdoor bathroom, plunge pool and deck allowed for luxury with a true taste of the tropics.
