This was our fourth visit to Spice Island and, once again, we were not disappointed by this superb quality hotel. We had an extremely spacious beachfront room, which was extremely well equipped. Just a few paces away the sea laps onto the sandy beach. The food and service are excellent. All staff members are extremely well turned out and of course are the right people for the hospitality business: friendly and fun. Grand Anse Beach is about 1.2 miles long, so there's plenty of walking - if you want it. I made an amateur YouTube video of the walk and things you see on the way. The hotel has been refurbished since our visit last year and it is brighter and more modern in common areas. It looks and is good quality. We can recommend walking over the headland onto the beautiful Morne Rouge Beach. It's pretty quiet on weekdays and when cruise ships aren't in. We look forward to another visit. Read less

We were in a luxury almond suite and it was perfect just a stroll to the beach and then back for a dip in our private pool. The food was lovely with lighter choices at lunch and dinner, beautifully presented and the evening menu changed daily. The staff were professional, friendly and courteous calling you by name and from the reception to bar staff to waiting staff to housekeeping absolutely spot on but you could also have fun conversations with them which we appreciate. Really cannot rate our experience at SIBR highly enough. We went to totally recharge and were more than able to do that. I don’t usually like returning places as feel there is a world out there to explore but I definitely want to visit again! Read less

This was our fourth visit and our first since March 2022. As usual we stayed in a Sea Grape suite. The hotel has recently been closed for a refurbishment. The sunken dance floor between the two restaurant areas has been raised so it is level with the restaurant floor and slats added over the top which provide welcome shade from the sun or can be closed in case of the occasional downpour. Fans have also been added to provide a breeze on sticky evenings. Also in the more casual restaurant used at lunchtime, the floor has been levelled so that there are no longer two distinct levels. Large double sun beds have been added around the pool, set slightly back from the single loungers. There is a new water sports manager - Aki - who was just wonderful at giving my very rusty sailor of a husband the confidence he needed to go out on his own. Thank you. He saw leatherback turtles in the bay each time he went out. The evening entertainment is vastly better than that on our first two visits. A highlight this trip was the young man with the violin. The food and service were generally excellent apart from breakfast which was haphazard at best. Tea/coffee orders were taken as you sat down but we waited up to half an hour on some days for these drinks to appear. Toast orders weren’t brought to the table until after any hot food. Some days we only wanted toast but as the orders were processed in strict order this meant we waited a long time. A couple of days we left before our toast arrived. We were only offered jams on one occasion. Things did improve slightly on our second week and we wondered whether this was because several large tables of families on Thanksgiving holidays had departed, leaving the more usual couples oriented clientele. Katrina, Nordia and Lyndonna were amazing food and beverage staff - a special thank you for the warmth of your welcome and service. Read less

We had a very short 2 night stay at Spice Island the beginning of November, and it was absolutely fabulous! The grounds are very beautiful- lovely flowers, plants, trees. Great attention to detail! The beach is lovely… sand so perfectly soft. The staff are helpful and friendly. There is no better place to relax and rest!

Our stay at Spice for our honeymoon was absolutely incredible. The food was some of the best food we've ever had (that goes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The pesto pasta at lunch with the fresh catch of the day added was my favorite! Our room was right on the beach and was so incredibly clean- the housekeepers spent hours each day making sure every inch was spotless. The grounds are breathtaking and all of the staff is so friendly and welcoming. Our only regret is not staying longer. We can't wait to return!! Read less
