One of the more beautiful places we've stayed. Toes-in-the-sand beach front suite with a private porch, private hammock and chairs, almost secluded from view. Very nice, modern decor. Very comfortable room and bed, with lots of space and a large sitting area, table, sofa and chairs. Above all, the staff are just wonderful. Everyone called us by name. Everyone wished us a happy anniversary (on the right day). Everyone was willing to go the extra mile. The chef, and the whole food service staff, were TOP NOTCH. The menus were varied, creative, and great! Food was served piping hot on heated plates (or else cold/chilled, if that was the thing). Wonderful, complex flavors without being over-spiced. Super fresh, local fruits and vegetables, lots of local cuisine, along with classics. Plenty of seafood, but always enough choices for everyone. Situated directly on Grand Anse ("Big Bay") - beautiful clear water, soft white sand beach. The resort has ample chairs and umbrellas staged for your convenience, with drink service on the beach. Also a nice pool nearby. Several local dive shops an easy walk from the resort - sailboats, snorkeling, diving, etc. Easy arrangements with no car needed. But we went snorkeling on our own just off of "our" beach and enjoyed it. Can't say enough about Spice Island Beach Resort. Highly recommended, and definitely a top place in the Caribbean. If you've never been to Grenada (this was our first time): it has all of the expected "Island life" factors. But compared to other Islands we've seen, we found it to be very lush/green (no dry/desert areas); and a noticeably strong economy and reliable facilities/power/water/etc., without being overbuilt or over-populated. + Grenada is out of the typical path of hurricanes, so they're less likely to upset your plans. Spice Island is AMAZING. We wanted a nice resort with an all-inclusive option. We booked on Expedia and the next day we were called by Spice Island asking if we had any food allergies and if we wanted a complementary upgrade to our room. What a nice personal touch that phone call was. From the time we arrived until the time we departed we were treated like family. The staff always addressed us by name with a smile and many employees spent time getting to know us. This was our first all-inclusive vacation (typically we take cruises) and I can’t see how we would/could find any place better. The room was perfect and walking right onto the beach was beautiful. They cleaned our room twice a day and always was spotless. Ice was changed whenever they cleaned so we always had fresh ice. The pool was well kept and extremely clean and relaxing. The staff would always come by our patio as well as the pool asking if we needed a drink. The bands they had on Monday and Wednesday night was a nice touch. Lunch on Sunday was wonderful as they grilled a lot of the food and the selection was aplenty. We booked an excursion to the rain forest and Spice Island set the entire day up for us and even packed us a picnic lunch. Wow!!My wife, son and I are looking for our return to Spice Island in the future. Brian,Heidi and Kody G Read less

I spent a week at Spice Island. I was pleased with the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the food and most of all with the service. The staff is pleasant and helpful without being ingratiating or overbearing. They exhibit Caribbean courtesy and manners at their finest. You are made to feel that you are truly welcome and at home.

There are 5* Caribbean resorts and then there is Spice Island Beach Resort. This is in a league of its own. This is my 4th visit and each time I wonder if it can be as good as the one before. It surpasses it. This time I was travelling with a mother who has some mobility issues. They were incredibly accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. When a request is made that maybe out of the ordinary, their response is “Let me see what I can do” and before you know it, you have your hearts desire. Every single member of staff is amazing but a special shout out for Michael (pool), Devon (bar), Martha (restaurant) and as always the most wonderful Hermian (manager). I am in mourning at having to leave today but already excited at the prospect of coming back. Read less
