True Blue Bay Boutique Resort

Grenada, Caribbean

The hotel

There’s something special about staying in a family run hotel. It adds an air of authenticity, a warmer kind of welcome, and little extras which bigger hotels might just forget about. That’s what you get with True Blue Bay Boutique Resort. The owners know just what you need for a stay on this south coast bay, and they include family musts like a kids' club, local touches like cooking classes and rum tasting, free treats like Hobie cats, ocean kayaks and yoga classes. They even run a complimentary shuttle to Grand Anse Beach, BBC Beach in Morne Rouge and Aquarium Beach in Point Salines. Designing the hotel themselves, the Fielden family have added Caribbean touches throughout, as well as those things you’d only expect from a big-name hotel, including two pools, a spa, a PADI-certified dive centre and 24-hour room service.

BEWARE FOR BUSY DATES!! We made a reservation 2 months ahead for a room for a family member's white coat ceremony. The night we tried to check in, we called ahead of time and were told that despite no previous notice, the hotel was completely full and had no rooms for us. They offered to house us in apartments at a different location, but would not provide transportation and refused to have any manager speak to us until the next morning. We will NOT be staying here in the future!! Beware of not having a place to stay the night of your arrival! Read less

A really lovely hotel, great bar and restaurant with different menus every night. Lovely pools and friendly staff. Only negatives- breakfast not great and the gym bike and cross trainer were ancient and unsafe.

We ate at the restaurant I believe the name was doggy dock. The fritters on the menu was an appetizer were great, The food was good but the service was slow. The drinks were just okay. I am not sure of the quality of the liquor. We paid an extra $80 for all inclusive which was worth it. It is $1 Canadian for every $3EC. Our bill for dinner was $300EC so the $80 for all inclusive was totally worth it. We also ate breakfast. The birds were a bit annoying so you have to cover your plates with your napkins. The fruit was very tasty. Overall it was nice. The service was good as well except at dinner. They have pet cats. The couple that own it are lovely. Their boutique is also good and not overpriced. It is also close to the airport. You need to arrange your own taxi though to the resort. The beach is trolley small and part of the resort is on a small marina, you can arrange boat rides from that marina. Read less

It looks a bit smashed up but it is not! everything works and the vibe is relaxed and slightly arty. The staff are really helpful and obviously enjoy their jobs. The food is OK but not outstanding, you can go to smart restaurants nearby, that said, the food is enjoyable and the bar is very comfortable with a couple of rum cocktails on the table. We will be going back again next year, and probably the year after. Read less

The afternoon sun was very strong on our balcony and deck. -several nice salt water pools to cool off in/beside. -lovely gardens full of interesting whimsy and iguana. . -clesn, safe, quiet, family friendly, restful vibe that reminds me of being at a cottage by the lake. -waterfront suites are a short walk from the restaurant, front desk, and two lovely pools. -free shuttle to Grand Anse beach. The bad: -we had trouble connecting to internet via wi-fi from our room. -the waterfront suite has two levels. The TV is upstairs at the foot of the bed. I would have put it downstairs in the livingroom to allow others to sleep undisturbed. -our room was below a "tower suite" which was occupied by other guests. -the walls are paper thin, allowing you to hear everything going on around outside. -the resort is under the flight path of all outbound aircraft. The planes are not frequent, but certainly noticeable. -restaurant is open air, and frequented daily by fearless Carib Grackles (birds) who want to share your breakfast. It is customary to check and clean the droppings off your chair before sitting, and then keeping your napkin handy to drive the birds off while eating. Read less
