The hotel

There’s something special about staying in a family run hotel. It adds an air of authenticity, a warmer kind of welcome, and little extras which bigger hotels might just forget about. That’s what you get with True Blue Bay Boutique Resort. The owners know just what you need for a stay on this south coast bay, and they include family musts like a kids' club, local touches like cooking classes and rum tasting, free treats like Hobie cats, ocean kayaks and yoga classes. They even run a complimentary shuttle to Grand Anse Beach. Designing the hotel themselves, the Fielden family have added Caribbean touches throughout, as well as those things you’d only expect from a big-name hotel, including two pools, a spa, a PADI-certified dive centre, yoga and 24-hour room service.

The space is absolutely beautiful, and the warm blue that decorates the buildings is so energizing and pleasing to the eye. There's so much that I love about this business -- their specials are always a bargain and affordable such that both locals and visitors took the opportunity to visit. I spoke with a number of long time employees which signals a commitment to the establishment. Give them a try! Read less

My girlfriend surprised me with a trip to Grenada for my birthday, and TBB went above and beyond both of our expectations to make our trip memorable. The communication with the staff was easy, and they prepared our room with a birthday greeting in flower petals. The entire property is spectacular, from the restaurant to the pool. Every step of the way, the members of TBB staff were there to help us with any questions or helpful tips about visiting the area. The shuttle took us to and from the beach and wherever else we needed to venture. We enjoyed every minute of it and whenever we decide to return to Grenada, we will be staying back at TBB, for sure! Spa is awesome. I had several services, mani/pedi; massage; soak. Very relaxing and I enjoyed every minute of my services. Areas of improvement: Dining services is ok/poor. Food was quite bland. Service was painfully slow. The breakfast buffet lacked diversity. I ordered off the menu thinking it would be better; nope, same, bland flavor. Oh and food way over priced for the quality. The location is about 15-20 minutes from the beach. There is a beach shuttle is great. The property is nice. Absolutely kid friendly, with playgrounds, kid center, and several pools. The pools were fine. Though once, I ended swimming with several bugs and some tree debris. Property was clean and beautiful. Room was very nice and spacious. My jet tub was inoperable my entire stay. Also, wifi did not work in my room (I stayed in the Towers). Connection was best at the restaurant and bar. I called several times for assistance, no one helped. So, I gave in and paid to roam internationally. Lastly, the hotel does arrange tours, but if you are a solo traveler, the price doubles. I ended up paying $30 USD an hour for taxi tour (minimum 3 hours). If you want peace and quiet, this is the perfect place. However, if you're looking for nightly entertainment, look elsewhere. It's a very low key hotel. Nice views and A+ spa. Beautiful property with several areas to sit and chill out. Again, enjoyed my stay. Read less

My daughter and I also went to the spa. The staff there was also courteous. I had the stone massage and felt very relaxed. Our room was large with a living area, dining area, kitchen area with an electric stove top, sink, utensils, toaster, mini fridge with complimentary refreshments and coffee maker. Our bathroom had a sink on a long counter. There was a good sized shower. It was a roomy bathroom. We stayed 3 nights last month. I would love to come back and bring the rest of my family. Read less

We stayed here for just two nights at the end of our time in Grenada, and sadly didn’t think much of True Blue Bay Resort. We were already on the island and so arrived at around 1200, before our room might have been available. We had enquired whether it would and we were told it was unlikely, but they knew when they would be expecting us at least and we could enjoy the facilities. When we did arrive the greeting was far from friendly. We were told our room was not ready and we could use the pool. No intro into the resort, where things were etc, just pointed in the right direction. Walking towards the pool, it suddenly seemed our room was ready and we were quickly shown it, no info about the facilities at all. We settled in and visited the infinity pool. This was nice, but seemed quite ditry, which put off my wife from staying in the water for too long. We tried the smaller pool beyond the infinity one, which seemed somewhat cleaner. The other pool which is where we spent the next day was a lot nicer, deeper so you could swim and the lounger options around the pool were varied. The restaurant on site is where we chose to eat or lunch and dinner on the first day and we were not hugely impressed. The service was average and the food took an insane amount of time to come. At dinner it was quite busy, but everyone was just looking around wondering where their food was! After two average meals we decided to eat elsewhere for the rest of the trip! (There’s a cool place near the university which has a wide range of different food and drink options) Our room was quite nice, split level with a living area and terrace on the ground floor, with the bedroom bathroom and balcony on the 1st. The furniture was a little tired but it suited us for our short stay. There are various activities you can do whilst at the resort. We made the most of our two free yoga classes at the on site yoga studio each morning as well as the sea kayaks for a little exploration of the bay. Overall we had a mixed stay here, and I wouldn’t choose to stay again. The facilities are ok, but the welcome and poor restaurant facilities really let it down. Read less
