Beautiful resort, exceptional service, and an overall wonderful experience! Everyone at Half Moon went above and beyond to to accommodate our group of 100+ people, who were there for a company offsite. We stayed in the villas, which were spotless and spacious -- definitely looking forward to coming back soon!

We stayed in one of the suites on the ocean and the experience of walking out your door and onto a beautiful caribbean beach absolutely can't be beat. The restaurants are fantastic from casual beach dining to very high end cuisine and the service is second to none. Look up our favorite bartender Desmond. He will definitely take care of you! All in all it was one of the best trips we've taken as a couple and well will most definitely be back. Read less

I don't usually take the time to review accommodations, but I'm thrilled to report on our latest late April/early May 2019 visit to MoBay and the iconic Half Moon resort. From the moment we entered onto the spectacularly landscaped grounds, the management team's gracious hospitality was evident. When we last visited HM a few years ago, the property was under the previous management of the Rockefeller Resorts organization. While their custodianship was very courteous, since new management has taken over, the property appears tidier, more well staffed and even more solicitious than before. Our accommodations in the West Cottages were as we had hoped; clean, slightly updated and, as always, fronting one of the prettiest beaches we've had the pleasure to experience. We've been all over the Carribbean and the southern Atlantic and Half Moon's waterfront acreage is on par with the best. The staff does not actively solicit tips but they are always available to assist with towels, beach chairs, ice buckets and room cleaaning. In particular, the ladies (wo-)manning the front desk were as kind and as considerate as any we've experienced. We don't usually head in to MoBay but rather stay "on campus" for virtually all of our time; we enjoy reading, spa-ing, working out, dining and relaxing, which HM allows for with grace and strong execution. The food is well above average, with the exception of Il Giardino's, which, as Italian Americans, we can attest is absolutely outstanding, both in selection and preparation. Chef Claudio made a point of welcoming us back on our first night at IG and made sure to advise us not to order from the menu as he had a three-course pasta meal (aglio olio-carbonara-mushroom) that he prepared and presented following two different and equally fabulous burrata salads and an unbelievably fresh fried fish appetizer. As we departed from our first meal, Claudio asked if we had a taste for anything special, as he knew our remaining free nights would be spent eating dinner at IG. We mentioned clams, and on night two, he prepared a very inspired clam appetizer followed by a beautiful homemade pasta and clam sauce. Needless to say, all of our remaining meals at IG were equally authentic and extremely satisfying. While we were treated well at all of the various breakfast, lunch and dinner venues, the staff at IG was particularly accomplished and professional. We also appreciated all of the local musical talent which was presented at virtually every evening meal. To be honest, given the State Department's scepticism of MoBay, I'm not sure we would choose it as a vacation destination but for the fact that Half Moon has provided, for my wife and me, two of the nicest, most relaxing and most beautifully picturesque vacations we have ever experienced. The staff, the familiarity, the grounds, the water and the accommodations made for another wonderful Half Moon experience. We truly felt at home and, as the locals say, we experienced full joy!
