We arrived to the resort late due to misdirected luggage and other issues. We were greeted with smiles and refreshing drinks. Our villa was excellent with an oceanfront view. This property is very large and offers numerous amenities. I highly recommend it. The staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay!

Second trip in as many years. We arrived just as new section of resort had opened (end of February), so some confusion existed about check-in, check-out, which restaurants were open, etc. Should not take long for them to sort out and caused no major inconvenience. This is a lovely resort – grounds well kept, rooms clean, beaches beautiful. Only 15 minutes (but a world away) from the airport, so very convenient. Workers, esp at restaurants, very nice and helpful. Despite family-friendly atmosphere, overall quite quiet and peaceful. Food very good but EXORBITANTLY expensive. Lunch for three (wife, teenage son and I) typically ran $100-$150; dinner $200-300, depending on restaurant, with minimal alcohol. Drinks $15-18. There is an all-inclusive meal plan option, but it also is very expensive. Unless you are a heavy drinker, it turns out to be about a wash, or possibly even more expensive, compared to paying a la carte. Main disappointment, and main reason for mediocre review, is not one, but two instances of questionable billing and complete lack of willingness to resolve. First, our arrival was delayed by one day due to forces beyond our control (airline delays / cancellations). One could argue whether or not Half Moon should have refunded us the room rate for the night we missed (they didn’t), but when I got home I found that they also charged us for the meal plan on the day we were not there. It took multiple emails and calls over a number of weeks to ultimately get a refund, and even then, the credit simply showed up on my card with no actual response or acknowledgment from the resort. Then, on my next credit card statement I found another unexplained charge which I had not signed for during checkout. Again, I have attempted to contact them numerous times over the past month about this, and have received zero response. No the end of the world, but I expect better service from a resort this expensive, frankly. Overall, this is a 4+-star resort, but at 6-star prices (esp. food), and with 2-star (if that) front office staff. It is likely I will look elsewhere next year. Read less

We booked a 5 bedroom villa for $5,000 per night, and arrived to being told we would receive a 3 bedroom because the 5 bedroom we secured was not available. We were told the five bedroom is unavailable because of renovations, assumptions, and lies. They told us we could have a 2 bedroom, 3 bedroom, and 4 bedroom..then were told we couldn't have the five bedroom because of CORONAVIRUS..! the manager later admitted that she made an assumption to give us the three bedroom and that she lied about coronavirus.
