This hotel was good value for money for the price you paid, personally thought the food was really nice specially the restaurants, we LOVED the Italian, only downfall was you needed to book the day before sometimes you could get a same day reservation but quite late. Really enjoyed the entertainment and the reps was really nice. Lots of activities to do, we done the Kayaks was very fun. How busy it was on the weekend was probably the only thing but appreciate the hotel have lost lots of money due to COVID etc but it wasn't the staffs fault think they handled the stressful situation and busyness well. A few issues from guest relations but our TUI rep Caroline was very helpful and sorted this quickly for us. Booked a beach dinner at a little extra price but would say its definitely worth it, our waiter Toby was amazing, the best service we could ask for. Also had him in the restaurant a few times he was so lovely, helpful and couldn't do anymore for you, I would request him if you book a beach dinner he made it for us! The beaches was beautiful water so clear lots of fish not deep enough to swim but that's what the pool is for! The air con was loud but i normally sleep with a fan on so this wasn't a problem for me. The maid was hit and miss but again If I needed anything I would just ask. Staff was really nice and helpful. I was wary about this bad reviews, but All in all I would come back and would recommended for families as it seems it has a lot for children. Glad I booked and had the best holiday! Read less

4th time to Jamaica. 1st time to holiday Inn Montego bay. I think before complaints can be made - people really need to manage their expectations. This is a 3* hotel. 4th time to Jamaica. 1st time to holiday Inn Montego bay. I think before complaints can be made - people really need to manage their expectations. This is a 3* hotel. We booked last minute for 13 nights at a very cheap rate with TUI. Usually pay almost double for a hotel with a nicer room but nothing much else. Maybe we were lucky but to be honest although our room was old it is just a room. The bed & towels we're changed every other day. Okay anything else was hit & miss. But we politely asked for extra coffee etc & it was never a problem. Yes there was only 2 bottles of water but what's wrong with getting a refill at the bar? Think of all the plastic saved! Also it isn't the hotels fault that ignorant guests leave their rubbish on the walls and floors etc. The staff do their best to keep it clean. Food was variable depending on which day. I do agree that far too many locals arrive at weekend and the waits are horrendous! There just isn't the capacity. From our point of view this is a basic and traditional Jamaican hotel. Improvement needed in general but if you're looking for a relaxing sunny getaway with great little private coves to relax, top shelf drinks and lovely reggae vibes then why not give it a go. Just do your homework and don't expect the Ritz! Would we return? Definitely if the price was right! Read less

Well where do I start, the location Montego Bay itself is amazing and the scenery is fantastic but the hotel holiday inn isn’t up to much unfortunately, there isn’t much selection on foods in the dining hall at any meal time which is disappointing. On the weekends the locals come to stay and it is absolute chaos, no tables in the dining room, long queues for the ice cream hut and the burger hut and the pool is full to capacity all day. The first room my friends were given was dirty, the bed was full of insects and a dead lizard!! 😩 We also had problems with the door, very temperamental, sometimes it would open and others it wouldn’t, other people had the same issues. The hotel is very dated and is in desperate need of refurbishment it says it has been refurbished but that is not true. Had problems with faulty electrics, especially my grandmothers hairdryer, wouldn’t work, and was very dangerous, this was reported 4 times, and on the 4th was fixed finally. Noisy air conditioning. The sitting area opposite the dining room where you can get coffee and tea throughout the day is dirty and there is never any milk or hot water there. The rooms get clean every other day but we went 4 days without it being cleaned before we complained. When you arrive you get two bottles of water in your room but getting any more is a challenge. (A lot of my family in other rooms didn’t get any water on arrival). Apart from all that the holiday in does have some positives , the grounds are very nice the gardeners do a fantastic job of keeping them presentable. The jerk hut is delicious but getting a seat in there isn’t guaranteed. I would recommend Jamaica to anyone, such a beautiful country, not unfortunately I would never recommend this hotel. Pay a bit extra and stay in a Riu. Read less

If planning on a vacation to Jamaica, I strongly recommend staying at The Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay Jamaica! Its beautiful with almost all beachfront. The beautiful different palm trees and plants are beautiful. It is a clean, comfortable, friendly and family friendly resort. The rooms are spacious, clean, with the most comfortable beds that I've ever slept on. The housekeepers are great! They are very friendly and your room is always looking beautiful. Any extras you may need they always make sure you get it. The view of the Carribean is perfect in almost every room. The common grounds are constantly being cleaned. The activities department is a fun group of people! Thank you to Noel for always having some sort of activity going on day and night. The bartenders are a lot if fun and make you whatever you want. Bring your own big mug and they will fill it for you. The watersports staff is great! Must go on The Catamaran boat! What a fun, beautiful ride on the ocean. The restaurants are all wonderful. The buffet has a wide selection of food. Theres always something there you'll like due to so many choices. They also have a kids area at the Buffet. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are speciality restaurants as well. Sorrento, Italian, with delicious dishes and food is always beautifully displayed on your plate. Kenko is a Japanese restaurant that is not only delicious but fun! The chefs are great and they actually put on a great show while preparing your food. The Seabreeze is set right by the ocean with a beautiful atmosphere. Great seafood! A shout out to manager Karen for always making it a great evening! The Jamaican restaurant has wonderful jamaican dishes. There is also a beach bar that has The Jerk Hut at it. Great jerk chicken and pork. You always have The Barefoot Bar which is poolside with a variety of burgers, grilled cheese, fries and fish. No matter where you eat you will be very satisfied with the food! Such a variety. The staff of the entire resort is fantastic! Every person that walks by you always speaks and asks how everything is and if there is something you need I guarantee you they will get it for you or lead you in the direction to get it. I must say they are the best staff at any resort I've ever been too! They also gave a Beach party once a week which is a lot of fun! Great Entertainment and lots of food. The night Entertainment is always exciting! They also have a beautiful Return Reception for repeat guests. Its always a great evening with a great dinner. All the managers from every department attend the dinner. I would like to give a very special Thank you to Winsome Smith-Hooper and David Lashley for always making my stay a special one! Took us over 2 hours to check in, and get our room keys, only to find out we had paid for a sea view and instead got a lovely view of a tennis courts. Not enough food for the amount of people staying, especially on the weekends, where it was absolute madness, queues about 50 deep just to get a table. Pool dated, pool floor has holes, where tiles have broken, major health and safety hazard. Not enough umbrellas around the pool, fighting for shade. We spent most of our time on the beach, this was the best part of the holiday, couldn’t fault the beaches. Some lovely friendly staff, but also some very ignorant staff, who shouldn’t be working in customer service jobs. Dated old room in block 1, DONT stay here if you value your sleep, music much much too loud. No water in the rooms, just an empty fridge, considering you are paying to stay in an all inclusive hotel situated in a country with not safe drinking water, you have to beg for clean water, not right. A few occasions where House keeping didn’t come to our room until 5/6 o’clock, and just ask if we need towels, when really we wanted the room cleaned!. Everyday there would be plates of food left around the pool, on walls, on the beach, in the hallways. On weekends queues for drinks were ridiculous, very under staffed for the amount of people staying here. At breakfast we would have to sit down at a used table, and ask for cutlery and a coffee/tea. Staff always so busy. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially if you want to relax by the pool/beach, you don’t get any peace and quiet because of the loud speakers, also you don’t get your all inclusive experience, fighting for food! Over booked hotel, we won’t be returning, very disappointed because we have booked for TUI many times before, Dominican Republic, Greece etc, and never had a bad hotel. Do not waste your money, stay in a Riu hotel, or sandals. Read less
