Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall

Montego Bay, Jamaica

The hotel

A contemporary hideaway, the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall occupies a prime location, nestled between Jamaica’s famous Blue Mountain ridge and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. An adults-only retreat offering "Service from the Heart!", the atmosphere is gorgeously laid-back, ensuring plenty of rest and relaxation on the agenda. The private beach is nearly a mile long with swimmable coves to be alone in. All the usual sporting pastimes are on offer including beach volleyball, tennis, basketball. When the day fades, there are restaurants and bars galore, not just those belonging to the Zilara but to the family friendly sister hotel, the Ziva, as well, offering 12 distinctly different restaurants to choose from. Feast on cuisines from all around the world, including French, Pan-Asian, Italian, Brazilian and Caribbean. For pre-dinner drinks we recommend the Zilara’s very own Portionz — paying homage to the famed White Witch of Rose Hall — the cocktails are magical!

Entertainment throughout the day (pool side) was very good. Evening stage entertainment could use some improvement - some nights were great others were lacking greatly. Food throughout the resort was wonderful - no complaints. Overall experience was awesome. Would definitely return to this resort. Read less

This place is 3 star at best! The food is terrible! The restaurants are trying for you to buy something for an additional price. The food is barely edible. The only thing that was good were true Jamaican options or just plain American dishes. The rooms are filthy! They haven’t been cleaned in ages. The dust ruffles have spots! The floors have… Read more

The curtains have spots! You don’t even want to put your stuff done! It’s old and not well kept! We stayed in the adult only side..,, just don’t do it! We went for a bachelorette and was embarrassed we picked this travesty for our friend for this occasion. The only thing that was good were the entertainment staff. They were fun and helpful. I would not call this luxury at all. Terrible won’t be back and seriously questioning return to Jamaica in December if this is considered luxury. Read less

Outstanding property. The staff was great, warmly approachable. Very quality service oriented. Mr. Deano and the pool team are simply great, Toni-Anne’ D, Monquice, Donjay, Mortimer is a few of the team names that we want to mention. We did enjoy the beach, just a bit windy a couple of days. Though you do share restaurants with the Ziva property, we suggest to visit them! Read the daily news letter for which one would be closed that evening, before planning, one will be closed for a day off. Want to Thank the entire staff for the hospitality! Read less

This was our 3rd time and we loved it again! Everything was beautiful, wonderful and delicious! We would highly recommend this for adults in the adults only section or for families in the middle family section.

We had a wonderful stay here, starting with the champagne greeting upon arrival. We had an oceanfront butler suite and the room was very nice and kept sparkling clean. Pros: Staff, staff, staff. Lori-Ann at the brick oven pizza location was a delight! Javaine went out of his way to speak to us whenever he saw us and made us feel like honored… Read more

Lori-Ann at the brick oven pizza location was a delight! Javaine went out of his way to speak to us whenever he saw us and made us feel like honored guests. Our butlers Gary and Latoya were suberb. They made the stay extra special. We had exceptional experiences at the spa due to Arvelegne (I'm pretty sure I have the spelling wrong). Food was phenomenal at the French restaurant, we ate there twice. Breakfast avocado toast was suberb at Urban Heatz. Cons: The activities at the family Ziva resort in the evening were much better than what the Zilara offered. Activities that didn't involve the pool during the day would have been welcomed (the pool was COLD). Overall a very good experience made even better by the amazing staff. Read less
