The hotel

A contemporary hideaway, the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall occupies a prime location, nestled between Jamaica’s famous Blue Mountain ridge and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. An adults-only retreat offering "Service from the Heart!", the atmosphere is gorgeously laid-back, ensuring plenty of rest and relaxation on the agenda. The private beach is nearly a mile long with swimmable coves to be alone in. All the usual sporting pastimes are on offer including beach volleyball, tennis, and basketball. When the day fades, there are restaurants and bars galore, not just those belonging to the Zilara but to the family friendly sister hotel, the Ziva, as well, offering 12 distinctly different restaurants to choose from. Feast on cuisines from all around the world, including French, Pan-Asian, Italian, Brazilian and Caribbean. For pre-dinner drinks we recommend the Zilara’s very own Portionz — paying homage to the famed White Witch of Rose Hall — the cocktails are magical!

Always satisfied when I stay at Zilara. I will be returning next year. Complimentary champagne and slice of cake to recognize my birthday made me feel special.

We stayed at this resort in Cap Cana and enjoyed it a lot, so when we were looking for a resort in Jamaica and found this, we had to go. While the Cap Cana resort is more updated and recently renovated, the experience in Jamaica was just as spectacular. We really enjoyed the food and the dinners were great. Our restaurants ordered by our favorite first were: Asian, Italian, French, International Cuisine. Customer service was exceptional and here a few that stuck out to us in particular: Shakira waited on us by the pool and beach. She was a lot of fun and gave us great Jamaican vacation vibes. She made great efforts to make sure we always had everything we needed. Oshin was an entertainer by the pool. She was very talented and enthusiastic. Her dancing and getting guests involved with other entertainment was a great mix up when we wanted to do something more than just relax. Kavion was a bartender at the swim up bar. We thoroughly enjoyed being served by him. He went the extra mile by surprising us with new drinks and teaching us a Jamaican hand shake. At the Asian restaurant (our favorite) wait staff Richard, Richard Morgan, and Amanda were awesome. Best on the island. Like all place updated renovations needed for the exterior. Especially when you know the Hyatt brand.

Let me preface this by saying that this was my first time at a resort outside of the US, and our trip couldn't have been ANY better. First, our travel agent, Michael McHugh, with Dream Makers Vacation Services, was extremely informative, patient, and sent us gentle and important reminders from booking up until we returned home. Our first night we were left a thoughtful gift of two cards, one from our travel agent and one from the resort, a cake, and a bottle of wine since our agent let the resort know we were celebrating our honeymoon. It was the sweetest, personal touch that really set the tone for our trip. The resort is beautiful! There is entertainment every night and every morning while having breakfast at Urban Heatz. We tried every restaurant and have to say Urban Heatz was by far our favorite for both breakfast and dinner! Our server, Ian, at Urban Heatz, was so friendly and helpful. The food was simply amazing. The server Kevin at Choicez was also super friendly and very funny! All of the staff we encountered seemed so happy to be there it was great! Also, DO THE SPA! It was the amazing. I felt so relaxed after and they really made it personal and romantic for me and my husband. I could seriously go on and on an on. This resort was amazing. 10/10.
