A contemporary hideaway, the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall occupies a prime location, nestled between Jamaica’s famous Blue Mountain ridge and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. An adults-only retreat offering "Service from the Heart!", the atmosphere is gorgeously laid-back, ensuring plenty of rest and relaxation on the agenda. The private beach is nearly a mile long with swimmable coves to be alone in. All the usual sporting pastimes are on offer including beach volleyball, tennis, basketball. When the day fades, there are restaurants and bars galore, not just those belonging to the Zilara but to the family friendly sister hotel, the Ziva, as well, offering 12 distinctly different restaurants to choose from. For pre-dinner drinks we recommend the Zilara’s very own Portionz — paying homage to the famed White Witch of Rose Hall — the cocktails are magical!

Excellent choice well taken care of by the staff . They made sure as a large group we felt as individual travelers. The property is beautiful and well maintained in every aspect. The staff goes out of there way to please and remember the clients needs.

Can't wait to go back! Tranquil. Able to completely relax. Building architecture from a bye gone grand era. Food was fabulous- lots of different restaurants to choose from - (watch what night restaurants are closed) - getting food on the beach was such a treat. Catamaran rides a must! Employees very hospitable.

If I had to rate this property on staff alone, I woukd have given it a 10 out of 5! Specialty Barrington and Daniel from ZCrew, Traciann from Housekeeping, Dane from Bellman Services, and Chantel from the Jamaican restaurant on property. They were exceptional and went significantly above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We won't stay at an all inclusive again for a few reasons: 1. We don't drink alcohol 2. Food was just ok 3. Very little indicated we were actually in Jamaica (juice from concentrate, no local fruit and limited local fare). If I didn't know better, we could have been in FL 4. Hard to get off property without paying an arm and a leg New Year's Eve celebration was great and the fireworks were amazing. Swim-up room is a MUST and totally worth the extra money. Ours was like a private pool! Read less

After much consideration of many destinations and researching many different properties we decided on the warm winter weather & the wonderful hospitality of Jamaica for a special 50th birthday trip. The reviews seemed great for this property so our expectations were high!!! Overall,.. this resort did NOT deliver and left us underwhelmed. First I want to begin with what is RIGHT! The natural beauty of Jamaica and the hospitality of the Jamaican people just can't be beat. Although I will not be returning to this property, I WILL be returning to Jamaica (probably during a cruise). Staff: For the most part, with only a couple of exceptions, the staff were outstanding. Special requests for extra hangers and additional robes were honored in a timely fashion,...complimentary goodies were delivered to the room in honor of the special occasion we were celebrating,...each time you passed staff they placed their hand over their heart and acknowledged you,...when one of our party was sick the morning of check out they did extend our check out by a few minutes without additional charge. Property: The property was clean and seemed well maintained. Although we preferred to hang out near the ocean, the pools area were very attractive. Room: We had an ocean view room and the view from our room was simply beautiful! However, the room itself was a bit underwhelming. While it has somewhat of a modern feel and is "ok" it just does NOT deliver 5 star quality. Beach: We enjoyed the beach area very much and preferred the beach area on the Ziva side over the Zilara side. Food: The food was the most disappointing factor of our vacation,....definitely a deal breaker for me. Perhaps it's because I have taken many cruises where food is plentiful and easily accessible,....but we just could not find food on this resort. Breakfast at Choicez was good and was the best meal of the day. Maybe there were lunch options available that we were not aware of (I still don't know even though I tried to inquire about it.) It would be helpful to get a paper in your room listing food options and activities for the day. This is available on Channel 1 but was very confusing!!! Much of the time, especially at lunchtime we went hungry and could not find anything we wanted to eat,...walking from place to place finding nothing that appealed to us (and we aren't that hard to please). The 2nd day we had an appointment and needed to meet our transportation at a certain time and could find NOTHING to just grab and eat quickly on the go. From the reviews I had read (and the price we paid) I thought food would be in abundance and easily accessible but it definitely was not. Dinner at the resort was "ok" certainly nothing exceptional. We were there for 3 nights so we ate at the French restaurant, the Brazilian restaurant, and the Italian restaurant. Desserts at the resort were sparce and not tasty at all. I thought there would be an abundance of scrumptious desserts or cookies at various places and easily accessible. Nope! I thought there would be something open AFTER dinner perhaps pizza or sandwiches (since we are usually late nite people). Nope! Maybe I've taken too many cruises where food is easily accessible about anytime you want it,....but this place pretty much shuts down before 10 pm. And still more issues with the food. Our party of 3 ate at the outside restaurant on the Zilara side (I forget what its called). I ordered fish and my friends both ordered the same chicken dish. Later that evening both of them got sick about the same time with the same symptoms and were sick with upset stomachs and severe abdominal pain for the duration of our trip. Entertainment: The little bit of "entertainment" they provide IS family friendly and I appreciate that,....it is also little to none. After dinner there was literally nothing to do. We would sit by the beautiful fire pits for a while then go back to our rooms and flip through tv channels to try and find something to entertain ourselves with but no success. We were bored, Bored, BORED!!!!!! Overall,...we enjoyed the beautiful almost 90 degree weather in Jamaica (while they were experiencing snow and ice back home). We enjoyed our time at the beach,...chairs and space were adequate. We enjoyed the natural beauty of Jamaica and the wonderful Jamaican people,...but were completely underwhelmed by the things lacking at this resort. A disappointing birthday trip I had hoped would be very special and memorable! We really wanted to love this place. (Note to self: No more all inclusive resorts.) Read less
