The hotel

A contemporary hideaway, the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall occupies a prime location, nestled between Jamaica’s famous Blue Mountain ridge and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. An adults-only retreat offering "Service from the Heart!", the atmosphere is gorgeously laid-back, ensuring plenty of rest and relaxation on the agenda. The private beach is nearly a mile long with swimmable coves to be alone in. All the usual sporting pastimes are on offer including beach volleyball, tennis, and basketball. When the day fades, there are restaurants and bars galore, not just those belonging to the Zilara but to the family friendly sister hotel, the Ziva, as well, offering 12 distinctly different restaurants to choose from. Feast on cuisines from all around the world, including French, Pan-Asian, Italian, Brazilian and Caribbean. For pre-dinner drinks we recommend the Zilara’s very own Portionz — paying homage to the famed White Witch of Rose Hall — the cocktails are magical!

We had an awesome vacation at the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall! The resort was beautiful and very well maintained. The staff were excellent - very pleasant and friendly, and seemed to really care about any questions we had. The food at all the restaurants was delicious and we really enjoyed both the pool and beach areas. We happened to get unlucky that the day we arrived that an issue with the air conditioning had occurred and it was not working for numerous rooms. The staff were confident it would be fixed next day and it was. We had no further AC issues after that point. We had our COVID antigen tests performed at the resort to meet requirements for re-entering our home country and we were quite impressed with how smoothly the entire process went from scheduling the test, to checking in, to having the test performed, to receiving the results later on. The rooms on the Zilara side are run down. My rooms were dusty. Service at the pool and beach is nonexistent. The air conditioner broke down and it took me raising hell to get a new room. Items like robs were not in the room at check in. The room phone didn’t work and they added charges to my bill I did not charge. The only positive thing was the… Read more

Recently enjoyed a 4-night stay and would definitely return. I will start by saying the staff is AMAZING; very kind and helpful. Special shoutouts to Frederick (Urban Eatz), Ingrid and Demirco (Poolside bar), and the gentlemen that provided omelets at Choicez, but EVERYONE was great! This location is approx. 10-15min from the Sangster airport. Resort/Room: We stayed in the double resort view and found the room to be very spacious and clean. The resort is beautiful and very large; although older, the grounds are well kept. The pool is amazing and luckily was not overly packed during my stay. All staff wore mask. Lots of places to sit and relax: gazebo overlooking the beach, firepits) Zen Spa: My mother and I received massages in the beachside cabana and the experience was everything we expected and more. Dining: Our favorite restaurant was Di Roza (Italian); be sure to make a reservation in advance. We enjoyed the smoothies from the coffee shop in the lobby, almost daily. We enjoyed all of the speciality restaurants and the buffet daily for breakfast. Our only ding against the dining was that the dinner buffet was subpar. Entertainment: Well planned and appropriate for adults; we thoroughly enjoy the Sip N Paint and Bob Marley Tribute show. We unexpectedly stayed an additional night due to a strike at the Sangster airport and the resort as overly accommodating by allowing us to stay in our same room and providing a "distress" rate for our additional night. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the resort. Read less

We plan on returning. Read less
