The trip from the airport to the hotel was fine. check in was fine, and we requested a room change,we were able to get the ocean view that we requested. The hotel has a few shortcomings. The room is bland nothing special at all. Although I must say the bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms left something to be desired, there is not a safe in the room. The food was okay they had a special night “Jamaican night” oh what a surprise. Supposedly this was the night to get authentic Jamaican cuisine”. WTF were in Jamaica!!!! Get this no WiFi unless you pay 25/day, that was crazy because everyplace has free WiFi these days, especially all inclusive vacation resorts. They had some activities like bingo trivia and water aerobics. There is a disco on site that is open Saturday nights, didn’t know that when I checked in so the music was booming until about 3 am. There was a outdoor performance each night which was pretty okay I guess. I would visit Jamaica agsin but I would not stay at either Decameron resorts. Read less

We came back to the RDMB because we knew exactly what we were getting into. I can't give it 5 stars because it's not a 5 star resort. It's a 3 star resort. Go with that expectation and you'll be well pleased. The view cannot be beat, from the rooms, the beach, the swim up bar - can't ask for better. Location is close to the airport - you get there… Read more

Location is close to the airport - you get there quick but you will hear planes all day - didn't bother us a bit. Rooms are clean as can be - did have a few issues with water pressure and temperature but again didn't bother us. Food is great, we love the snack bar - felt there was less options this time then previously but still great. The staff and the other guests (many of which are repeat guests) are what make this the perfect location for us. Can't wait to come back again next year! Read less

After reading reviews before going to the royal decameron we were a bit skeptical but after staying for a week this is my view on this place, if you’re looking for a fancy, pristine, 5 star resort with no flaws, then THIS IS NOT the place for you! If you’re like us who love low key, laid back & a fun atmosphere then this is just the place you need to kick back & relax! This resort has true Jamaica beach charm with views of the ocean that are just breathtaking, they have amazing snorkeling right off the beach or just hang out on the beds on the jetty where you can watch all sorts of sea life swim right past you. As for the food, none of us went hungry, the pastry chef is amazing!!!!! The staff are beyond wonderful & for the reviews I read that they aren’t well you get what you give?! As for having to pay for WiFi, actually it was nice not to see everyone stuck to their screens & actually having conversations with each other, & having to pay for a safe, it’s $2 a day it’s worth it to guard your valuables! Best of all it’s literally a 5 minute bus ride from airport so yes this is an older resort that shows signs in aging but it didn’t keep the 6 of us from having a fantastic time & can’t wait to go back! I must say this is one of the worst. I am surprised to the fact that my friends and I were treated that way. As locals we went there just to take the stress off. Staff at the grill was very disrespectful. We order the food and it took forever when asked they all had smart ads remarks. We reported it to a supervisor nothing came from it. We went to… Read more

Hotel was run down, food and service was subpar. We stayed there 3 days then on to Cancun. BIG DIFFERENCE! I would not recommend this place! Not only do you pay for a safe lock (which by the way they were out of!) you pay for WiFi and can only use it by the pool. The only thing good were the drinks. Entertainment wasn’t very good either.
