SHAME on you Sandals! My hubby and I were going to take our 10 year anniversary trip there. I got an email from the resort, they CLOSED the resort for our stay. I BOUGHT the travel insurance when I booked, assured it was 100% refundable. So when THEY CLOSED the resort, I thought, no problem. I am covered a- because THEY closed I didn't cancel b - I have insurance. NOT SO! I went through 3 people to reschedule and one supervisor. They acknowledge they closed. They say I can rebook, but have to do so within a year. The soonest opening they have for the overwater villa with a pool is Aug 2021, well past their one year deadline. I told them I just want a refund. They say they can only give me half my money back. I told them THEY closed, I did not cancel. Then they said our government (USA) closed our borders....which is NOT true. I can travel to Jamaica, yes, THEIR government will put me in a quarantine, but I thought it horribly irresponsible for them to blame their cancellation on the consumer. If they are trying to do this to me, they are trying to do this to EVERYONE who has a trip during the period of time THEY closed their resort. They need to do the RIGHT THING and refund the money of the people whose trips THEY CANCELED. Read less

I’m so thankful that we were able to get our trip to Sandals Royal Caribbean in during the last week in February. My heart goes out to those who were hoping to travel there, but can’t; my heart especially goes out to the fabulous SRC staff. I hope that happier days are coming for all of us. SRC is nothing new to us: this was our sixth visit there. As always, our room was comfortable, the drinks were plentiful, the food was great, and the staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. Specifically citing a few: Nickeisha was our waiter at Royal Thai: she was sweet and funny and kept the signature cocktails coming. And I'll say the same for Porsha at Spices. Thanks, ladies! Lennaus at the front desk: you remembered us from two years ago, Mr. Semantics?!? It was great seeing you again, Lennaus. Stacey, who delivered drink orders on the Island: it seems like every time we thought that it was just about time for another drink, along came Stacey and her smile… Alicia at the Island Routes desk: she not only remembered us, she remembered where we went on our last visit two years ago! (And then she put us in touch with our favorite driver, Robert Clarke.) Sophia M. and Alicia (a different Alicia), who gave us our couples massage: I’ve never laughed so much during a massage! (And P.S., it was a great massage, too.) Lily, in housekeeping: we bumped into Lily when we stopped by our room at midday… and yes, she remembered us! There were big hugs before we left. And thanks for the towel art, Lily. Last but not least, Petrine. Petrine took care of us during our candlelight dinner on the beach—and I don’t just mean took care of the dinner, she took care of US. Without going into details, I’ll just say that she was kind, helpful, gracious, caring… all in all, a credit to Sandals. Petrine, thank you, thank you, thank you. I am going to end with a point for improvement. We enjoy spending our time on the private island. We especially enjoy the clothing-optional beach—whichever option one enjoys, it’s a quiet, mellow place to spend the day. And, for whichever reason, a lot of other people enjoy that area as well. Unfortunately, the space is small and the seating is limited. Many people spending time in that area spend it on top of the concrete wall. And if you’re looking to spend time in the sun, that wall may be the best place to be because of the overgrown shrubbery casting shade over much of the beach area. We were told by staff, repeatedly, that the first boat to the island would leave at 10 AM. Fine: we had a leisurely breakfast and made our way to the dock. We got there before 9:45 to catch what we believed was the first boat out (which actually left at 9:55)… and were surprised to find the c/o beach fully occupied (all chairs taken or assigned by butlers, and people already occupying spots on the wall), every seat on the other small back beach occupied, and almost every seat on the front beach occupied. (We tried out the front beach, but found ourselves smack next to a Bluetooth Couple, who wanted their music on and wanted it loud… grrr…) First, there needs to be a set schedule for the first boat. If we know that it will be at 10:00, then fine; we’ll be there. If we know that it will be at 8:30, then fine; we’ll be there. We just want to know when to get over there to maximize our chances of finding a place to sit! And, secondly, it would be easy to fit a few more chairs on the c/o beach. In fact, it seems that the area could probably be expanded by eliminating, or taking down the roof from, the platform structure on the far end of the beach (the purpose of which I’ve never figured out; I’ve never seen it in use) and cutting back some of the shrubs and trees. It appears that the area around the trees is rocky and perhaps offers some sort of drainage; perhaps a deck built over that area could provide some additional space? Okay, constructive criticism over. We do plan to return in a couple of years. And we hope to see Nickeisha and Porsha and Lennaus and Stacey and Alicia and Robert and Sophia and the other Alicia and Petrine when we’re back. And we hope to have a couple of chairs waiting for us on the island. Read less

My husband and I were fortunate to escape to this fabulous resort before the Coronavirus limited travels. This was a dream vacation!! We stayed in the Royal Beachfront Club Elite w Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub & it was phenomenal!!! A private driver picked us up at the airport and a concierge took care of every detail upon arrival at the resort. We loved the food and all of the workers were so kind and helpful. Entertainment was great too!! Definitely take advantage of the shuttle that takes you to the Sandals Montego Bay to go to the Butch’s Steakhouse restaurant, and we also enjoyed the longer stretches of beach at that resort. We will definitely be planning another Sandals vacation for next year’s Spring break!! Read less

We could not of been in better hands. Our butlers Ellis and Dwight were amazing as was the entire staff. We booked for next year before we even left the resort. Words can not express how wonderful the resort was, even while the world was panicking over COVID19, they all remained calm and only worried about our health and safety.
