We had a wonderful six day stay at this resort! Check in was a slight bit chaotic, but it was likely because most guests arrived around the same time (around 5PM) and the staff were extremely busy. We noticed the toilet in our room was not flushing properly, and was given a different room the following day. The rooms are pretty spacious and comes with a comfortable bed and pillows. The hotel grounds are generally very well-kept, but I did notice that the hallways leading to guest rooms were typically dirty which was a bit odd. The staff here are what really makes this resort shine. Aside from the Barracuda Bar, every interaction we had with staff members here have been great. I have put off coming to Jamaica for over 5 years because of the country’s history of homophobia. We are a married gay couple from NYC and were afraid of how the staff would receive us. But we were never treated differently than other guests and my fears quickly left! Alvin at the pool bar was awesome and made us great drinks and was very entertaining. We also loved Erica’s coffee at night - she makes it extra strong and delicious for us. Dinner service was hit or miss. The Jamaican restaurant has the best goat stew and oxtail. Service from the lovely Felicia our first night was quick and attentive. We went there another night and had a different server and he was super slow and would disappear for a while even tho he only had 2-3 tables. The Mexican and Asian restaurants were just average. We enjoyed Bordeaux (French) - the duck confit was cooked well and tasty. Italian restaurant wasn’t enjoyable because the food came out cold after waiting a long time. I really think they should keep the Buffet open for dinner because they are not ready to offer a La carte dining ONLY for dinner. I don’t think the kitchen staff has the manpower to do so just yet. The beach/lounge chair situation is a bit of a mess. My husband had to wake up at 6am to go grab two chairs for us and by that time they were already half taken. Our first two days we didn’t go grab chairs until after 7:30am and pretty much they were all gone and taken already! The beach offered fine white sand and very gentle (if any) waves. Just be careful of possible jellyfish. There was one day where there were a lot of jellyfish but the subsequent days they were all gone again. This Secrets resort really changed my perception of the country of Jamaica. We both hope that the rest of this country will be as LGBTQIA+ friendly as the staff were here. We would love to visit again and stay here since we felt very safe and well taken care of. I hope other potential guests in the community will take notice of my opinions and come to this wonderful resort. Thank you so much to the entire staff at Secrets Wild Orchid. Read less

The food and services were excellent here. The staff were amazing to work with the whole trip. There was always something fun happening, like shows, dancing, foam parties, etc. I loved all of the shops in the middle of the resort as well.

Went to Montego Bay for a few days in November. Rashmaine and Stephen were fantastic! They showed us around the resort on the golf cart. They were super welcoming to me and my entire group. Would definitely recommend!

They made our entire trip wonderful each and every time we came in contact with them!!! We really appreciate them. One major downfall was housekeeping! Every SINGLE DAY we had an issue with housekeeping. They either didn’t come or they half did the job! I stopped at the desk every day and night to speak with management and staff, and NO RESOLUTION.
