We’ve been here 8 years and honestly we cancelled this trip once and then decided to rebook— WOW! So glad we did. First of all the resort is as perfect at always and the new Covid measures made us feel safer than the US. The staff - in spite of tough times ( resort closed for a while last year and low occupancy means fewer hours for them) they still performed with a warm Jamaican smile and kindness. Food quality superb, rooms cleaned to perfection, and although the evening entertainment was scaled back - it was still amazing! From Brittania at breakfast to Monique and Tennyson for day drinks , to Rayshon at the piano bar and Tracy at dinners— let’s us say THANK YOU! So don’t let covid stop you from booking. 5 minutes and a free test — no worries. See you next year! One tip for the returners dinner: the new GM should up her game. The past two were much more articulate and used the time to connect with us- especially Wayne. PS. Get some crown Royal and grapefruit juice in for cocktails. Never had either except 1 day. I did appreciate the Jim Beam! Read less

We returned for our 12th visit to Couples Negril in early February. Cannot complement the staff and management enough on making us feel welcome and safe. As others have stated the resort has low occupancy. We viewed that as a positive having an uncrowned, beautiful beach and resort to relax at and enjoy. And the low occupancy certainly did not reflect in the attention paid to the food quality, service or care from the great ladies who kept our room fresh and welcoming. And the water sports guys, as always will help you enjoy all they have to offer. I certainly understand concerns related to traveling during COVID. The “ hoops” were a pain no doubt. But Jamaica and Couples did a great job in following all protocols once we arrived and upon our departure. We would return next week in a second. Read less

My husband and I just returned February 8 after staying 9 nights. We booked the Beachfront Suite and the room was beautiful and close to the beach and pool. On the down side, our phone didn't work for 2 days. When it finally did work, you had to fiddle with the cord and hope you could hear the person and vice versa. We were given a complimentary 25 minute couples massage for the inconvenience. Secondly, the website states 24 hour gourmet dining, but when we asked we were told that in- room dining and room service were 2 different things. When we showed the manager what it said on the website for Couples Negril, he told us we were looking at San Souci and that the resorts are different. The book in the room stated for beachfront and garden suites it was a different dinner menu but when we called, after the phone was semi fixed, we were told that was incorrect and what was in the book was the dinner menu for suites. ( We looked at our neighbors book and it was exactly the same) Would also like to note that after showing the website we started getting the nightly horsdevours, which we had not received prior to. Third, my husband ended up with food poisoning one day and spent an entire day in the room. After speaking with other guests, 2 others had also experienced the same thing. Not sure if it was coincidental or not, but we both noticed the resort has you constantly sanitize your hands but we didn't see any of them doing it. On a good note, overall, the food was really good, probably because I didn't get sick, and they went out of their way for a Superbowl party. The housekeeping and bar service were amazing! We had Samantha and another lady cleaning our room and they were both awesome. We also enjoyed Jermaine and Ivylin at the pool/beach bar. All of the staff were friendly and helpful but I can't remember all of their names. We also arrived on the bus with an amazing couple from Iowa, they were married at the resort and it was beautiful. We also met some great couples from the Quad Cities, KC, and TX. The resort also provided covid testing for our return and it was a very nice that it was an easy process and offered free of charge from the resort. This was our 3rd visit to a Couples resort, but our first to Couples Negril. Although the resort was beautiful, we will more than likely return to San Souci. Read less

We were on the fence when the CDC said we had to test negative to get back to the USA. Couples stepped up and said that they would cover the cost for the test for all US travelers. Done deal, we went:) Best thing we ever did. Thank you Couples for stepping up to cover that. Safety? You have a better chance of catching Covid in a big box store… Read more
We were on the fence when the CDC said we had to test negative to get back to the USA. Couples stepped up and said that they would cover the cost for the test for all US travelers. Done deal, we went:) Best thing we ever did. Thank you Couples for stepping up to cover that. Safety? You have a better chance of catching Covid in a big box store than traveling here. Never, not once did I see any employee not wearing a mask. Sanitation was forefront. They make sure you're safe. Ok, with that. No buffet, no problem. The food here is already top notch and we did not mind ordering everything from a menu. Probably saved a few pounds by doing that. Not all restaurants were open, but the ones that were, on a rotating basis, were slam dunks. Never a bad meal. Beach, Pool, well, always great. Spa, no problems, excellent service. Staff, this is by far where they shine the brightest. These people are suffering from the lack of work, but they don't let it show. They are really grateful to have people come and visit. I heard many times, "Thank you so much for coming." They need us and after this last year, we need them. We love this place. But one thing that separates this resort from others are the actual visitors. People that come here are just good people. It doesn't matter to anyone where you come from, what you do. They treat you like a new friend. I have made more new friends at Couples resorts than anywhere else. I credit Couples for making it an atmosphere that everyone is treated the same. No one is above anyone, you are all welcome, Come and Enjoy. Do NOT fear Traveling. If you can go to Wal-Mart, you can go to Jamaica. Thank you Couples for having us, until next time:) Read less

We spent late December through New Years Eve here and loved it mostly. Food was good, service good, grounds beautiful. Most everything was still being offered even with low attendance because of COVID-19. Felt safe and they did a good job following safety protocols. Only issue was that we booked an oceanfront suite because we thought they had all been refurbished. turns out only some have been refurbished so consider that before you upgrade to that level room. New Years Eve Party was great as was the dinner. We might just do it again next year. Read less
