Amazingly (at least for us), we have now vacationed at Couples Swept Away for our third time! This was, by far, our best visit there. The beach is as gorgeous as ever. The resort is very well maintained. The food is excellent. And the water and land sports are better than ever. I am an avid tennis player and a beginning scuba diver. Couples Swept Away offers perhaps the best tennis program anywhere in the Caribbean and fabulous scuba and other water sports. Our guest tennis pro, Daryl, from North Carolina, gave us a great time in his warm-ups, drills, coaching and general enthusiasm for the game. I met a number of fine tennis players, with whom I played doubles after the morning clinics. Each day, my wife and I took private, included one-half lessons from the local pros, and each pro was better than the next. In addition to this, Julie Jilly, also from North Carolina, gave lessons on pickle-ball and organized informal pickle-ball match-ups. So, I now have a new racket sport to add to my repertoire. I also took a one-on-one squash clinic with local pro, Jermaine, that was excellent. I took a refresher course on scuba, which was great, and then participated in four dives. The food at all of the restaurants was excellent. And the bars were all fine. My major complaint was that I did not have enough time in the daylight hours to do all that was available. We are definitely coming back next winter. Read less

We just returned from our trip to CSA and have never felt more ripped off after a vacation! We would not return or recommend this place to anyone, especially for the $$! Beach: The beach at CSA is amazing and exactly what I was hoping for and expected - the endless white sand the colorful waters were something out of a magazine! The resort provided enough chairs, and despite the lack of palapa's, there was plenty of shade to be found, if needed. There were also a few hammocks on the beach, in the shade, which was really nice as well. There were more than a few couples who did 'reserve' their chairs and palapas for the entire week (we witnessed this first had, on multiple occasions) - the resort did nothing to deter or address this. Getting fresh beach towels any time after 12pm was quite frustrating - they were frequently out of them, or you had to walk to the absolute other end of the resort to get one. There were two provided upon arrival in our room - but they were never replenished. The garbage cans on/near the beach were frequently overflowing, and the beach service was relatively fast, but definitely not done with a smile or 'no problem, mon' attitude. Room: We stayed in a beach front veranda and were very happy with our choice. Our room was 3323 - on the top floor, as requested. The view of the beach was amazing; the room was clean and comfortable, although dated. Our bed was comfortable, the bathroom was great and the balcony was one of our favorite parts of the room. Turn down service was done every night, however, on two occasions we were only given a few bath towels, no wash cloths, and no bath mat. We called down and had some delivered, but the daily housekeeping service was average at best, and not done until late (3-4pm) in the afternoon which at times, was frustrating. We also were not provided the bottle of champagne upon arrival as stated in the thank you card from our travel agent in our welcome envelope. Food: I would consider the food to be average - it was nothing to write home about, and definitely not what i was expecting at this price point. Feathers and Lemongrass are the two restaurants that you have to make reservations to eat at. The service at Feathers (Steak house) took just under 3 hours from start to finish; that's way too long in my opinion, when you only have the choice of an 830 reservation. At one point, we had to ask three different servers to refill our water before it was actually done. The buffet was simple with adequate choices, but nothing to write home about; the other restaurants were adequate, but also nothing noteworthy. Room service was essentially non existent - we had the option to order morning coffee, pastries, and cereal, but beyond that there was no 'room' service. Again, expected more at this price point. Service: This is where one of my biggest complaints comes in. Front the time we stepped foot onto the resort, the service was terrible. There were numerous occasions at which the staff made it very clear they were annoyed by our requests. We had eyes rolled at us, ignored at the bar for an uncomfortable period of time, resort staff passing by when walking around did not acknowledge us or say hello, no management any where to be found, and the list goes on. This was by FAR the worst i have ever been treated on vacation. The service did seem to improve on Monday, but the change in staff was also noted. I could not believe how rude the staff was at this place. Of note, we were eating lunch, and a group of at least 30+ new employees was walking by for their orientation - that says a lot about the turn over at this place; Additionally, most of the employees we did encounter had 'trainee' on their name tag. Really disappointing and unacceptable. I dont believe any one of us was demanding, rude, or disrespectful in any way - in fact, we only tried to engage the staff ourselves, but after a few days, we gave up, and just made the best of it as we could. We had been really excited to see all the daily offerings and staff engagement activities listed on the site and in the brochures we received, however, not once, did any of the staff attempt to engage our group in beach activities, games, or encourage attendance at any of the evening activities. Facilities: The resort itself is really aging, and it shows. I was not expecting marble floors and big expansive buildings as I had done a lot of research on this place prior to our booking. I know Jamaica, and in particular this place, has a laid back island vibe, but they also seem to be laid back on the upkeep. What a huge disappointment overall! Read less

My family of 4 stayed at the resort during Christmas week 2019. We had a nice stay and would definitely consider staying here again. We had 2nd story ocean view veranda rooms. If you don't like cats, request a room above the ground floor. At times the service was slow and some servers were did not seem happy in the restaurants, but we are very understanding that staffing could be low during a large holiday week. We did appreciate the service from those that were working on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. The food was average to slightly above average. I always enjoyed a healthy lunch at the Sea Grape Cafe. There was always something good to eat for each meal. I worked out every morning and loved the visiting fitness instructor Jocelyn! Her energy was amazing! I met some nice people in classes. We enjoyed the sunset catamaran cruise. My daughters (18 & 21) enjoyed the water bikes and the snorkeling excursion. My husband and I were always up early and secured out beach chairs in the morning. I have to have shade. We had our towel clips and clipped our towels on to our 4 chairs. I always took 4 clean towels back to our room for the next day. We never had issues with towels. There were always plenty of clean ones. Our room was usually cleaned by the early afternoon. We are not ones to hang out in our room during the day so it didn't matter that our room was cleaned later. We laid back on the beach not near the water and we were never bothered by vendors/locals selling. This resort does not have much as far as night life and evening entertainment which is fine for us. If you want a more lively resort, then I'd pass on this one. Read less

I chose Couples Swept Away because it appeared to be the perfect wedding destination. Unfortunately I was disappointed! First, I am saddened by the fact I only have 2 pictures from my wedding. I purchased the drive option and the upload was such a poor quality resolution I have not been able to print any pictures. I have also taken to film restoration to help but when images are uploaded quickly at a low resolution there is nothing that can be done! Lost memories! The photographer was not knowledgeable or helped with capturing the wedding or sunset pictures. Also, the miscommunication that wedding images cost double than any other sunset pictures. Moving on to the wedding day! When we checked in for a wedding package our room was in the back of the resort on the 3rd floor, I would have though our "wedding coordinator" would have considered that when choosing our room. Have you ever tried going down 3 flights of steps in a wedding dress? Not fun!! Also having to walk a mile in the dress to the beach in 85 degree heat!! OMG... There was suppose to be champagne was to be delivered to the room before the wedding it did not arrive till after. Please do not be fooled by the advertisement that you will have a "wedding coordinator" It was a disappointment. Furthermore, good luck getting a reservation for dinner before 9 and all the excursions they offer all inclusive, well good luck getting on the list to actually do anything. I hope your not allergic to bee's because you will get stung. The food was not great just food! No room service! I have yet to be able to communicate with anyone regarding my overall experience or my pictures. On a better note the people are very nice but I would never stay there again. Read less
