Just got back from a friends trip to CSA on 7/19 after 6 nights at this beautiful resort, Sure it's older but it's got a great laid back vibe about it. We stayed in a beachfront verandah suite on the second floor. Clean with a great view. Although we were only in our room to sleep. I think these rooms are worth every penny. Literally steps away from one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Absolutely stunning. Sure, I could've done without the vendors but our group of six got used to them pretty quickly and the ladies actually ended up buying some really cool bracelets and carving and Bob the Baker had some good "brownies". The food was good. The service was adequate. Jamaicans only know one speed. That's just who they are. I broke the "rules" and low-key tipped. I never felt like I had to but spreading a little extra love and respect around goes a long way. The Jamaican people have had it really tough the last couple of years and most are poor anyway. Plus do you know how hard it would be to keep a smile on your face when you make 500 pina colada's a day while listening to some obnoxious couple in Bret Michaels hats get louder and louder as the day goes on? Who thinks "all-inclusive" means I can do whatever I want? No thank you. Just like you I came here and read all the reviews before going to CSA. Was everything perfect? No, but pretty damn good. Like I said, my wife and I went with two other couples(late forties/early fifties) and had the best time. So relaxing. It's worth coming to this place just to lay on a raft all day in that crystal clear water. The beach alone is worth the price of admission, We definitely felt like we got our money's worth. If you don't enjoy your stay at CSA it's because you're looking for reasons not to. Can't wait to go back. Now if I could only skip American Airlines and the airports part. HORRIBLE! Oh, and by the way. I'm in love with their coffee. Jamaica Blue Mountain is dynamite. I'll be drinking that at home. One love! Read less

My favorite parts of my trip were the beach and relaxation. Couples Swept Away is very low key and just quiet. There isn’t a lot you feel you have to do or go to. It’s simple. The rooms are plain but clean and comfortable. The tile needs some updating. I liked the martini bar and the piano bar. Those were fun. And the beach party was fun too. The things I would have liked better would be food options, service, and better availability on tours. We were there only 5 nights and that limited us to only being able to do the catamaran by the skin of our teeth and one snorkel trip. Which the snorkel guide was good! Luckily my travel agent is amazing and she was able to get the concierge to pre reserve us dinner reservations at Feathers and Lemongrass and champagne in my room every night. The service at bars and restaurants was just ok. Our pool bar guy was great! He was sweet and attentive. He would make you shots and remember what you wanted to drink. Other than that, they seemed like we were a bother. I waited for French fries for over 30 minutes at the grill and gave up. I ordered continental breakfast and never received it. The second time I ordered it, it was an hour late. We didn’t use the sports facilities but that area is so quiet and pretty. Also, having only one choice of beer got old. If I went back it would be because of the beach! Read less

We were booked for another resort but it was closed due to Covid, so we booked CSA. We were really excited to go, especially because we booked the top room category - Premier Beachfront Suite. Room: A beautiful perfect location with a terrific porch and view of the water. However . . . Not having glass windows we could hear everything. While I liked the sound of the tree frogs at night, there was nothing to drown out the neighbors. Since there wasn’t even a t.v. in the room under the guise of making it more “romantic,” there’s nothing romantic about listing to neighbors partying until 2 a.m. every night. Yes, I did call security, but that didn’t stop the loud partying. CSA’s only response was that they could change our room. In addition to the noise problem due to no glass windows, I don’t recommend this room category for other reasons. To have privacy to change clothes there are no curtains to easily pull closed. You have to go around hand cranking to close shutters. Same for taking a shower - people can see in if you don’t close the bathroom shutters. Plus, with the shutters closed, and at night, the bathroom and room lighting is very poor. Beach: The beach and palapa were really nice. But, another however . . . The beach “vendors” went at it non-stop. At the beach my favorite time is early morning when barely anyone is around, and during the day I love to sit and relax along the water line. Can’t do that at CSA. The vendors start by 8 a.m. every morning. And, without many guests on the beach they’d zero in on me. Sitting by the water didn’t work either because that’s vendor territory. Polite no-thank yous did NOT work. Ignoring them also did NOT work. Plus, I’m not on vacation to be hounded all day long on the beach. Plus, my husband is a singer and in the music field, so the off-key singing and out of tune guitars, especially when he just wanted to relax and read books, drove him nuts. One of our last days there, one guy ran right up under our palapa and was hawking in our faces, then moved from guest to guest shouting in people’s faces. Typically security was nearby to stop vendors from coming up to far from the waterline. But, that day Security was nowhere around. Every night, when walking to dinner, there was someone on the other side of the bushes that line the walkway yelling, Pssst, got good drugs. Food: A number of dishes and meals were very good. Room service danishes were great. The repeater dinner was very good. However . . . Room service is very limited, there are very few restaurants, and they close at least one restaurant a day. The best 2 meals we had, by far, and the highlights of our vacation, were off site (Ivan’s and Tiki Pon Da). Activities: Tons of great activities available, however . . . Covid was more rampant when we went. Staff assured us that they were social distancing on all the boat activities, so we booked one. While sitting on the beach we could see their boats loading, leaving and coming back. People were shoulder to shoulder, so we cancelled. Basically the same thing for land activities. I was interested in several of the activities, but they had people sitting, without masks, at small tables within a foot of each other. Entertainment: As always, The Silverbirds were really great. However . . . Not much of anything else going on. They did have a beach party but, based on the music, the targeting age was a lot younger than the average age guest at the resort. We went to the piano bar one night. My husband, who doesn’t believe Covid is bad, still wouldn’t do gigs during Covid because even he believes that singing can spread it. So, he was mortified at how they were passing around the mic from person to person. Pretty hypocritical of them to require guests to sanitize their hands when entering the piano bar but then have employees pass around a mic. Now that resorts have re-opened, I recommend going elsewhere. Read less

We really enjoyed our stay here. We felt safe during Covid. Food was amazing. I have severe food allergies and the chiefs really catered to my needs. The dive staff is incredible!!!!! We already booked our next trip.

This place is fine for a basic beach resort. In fact the beach is the best we’ve been to in terms of water temps, calm, clear seas and nice sand. That was the best part of the trip. However, if you are wanting to be wow’d from the moment you walk into the lobby this is not your place. Lobby was an open outdoor, dated space . Very hot and humid, not spectacular. Customer service was fine but I didn’t feel like they were happy to greet us or that they were overly enthused with having to help us. The rooms are very rustic, nothing to write home about. Bathroom has a shower with 1/3 of a door and it is a flat floor so when you are in there the water leaks out into the rest of the bathroom. We had to use a multitude of towels to soak up all the water and then because the room is humid and the floor is tile the water is tracked all over the rest of the bedroom - not ideal overall. I will have to say the best thing about the room is the portable air conditioning unit in the wall. It definitely works and kept us cool at night. There is a mini fridge that you can have stocked. No room service so on the day of the hurricane we had to walk to the restaurants in the rain. No biggie until someone took my umbrella from the restaurant and when I went to the front desk to get another they didn’t have any and didn’t offer to have someone escort me back to my room so I wouldn’t have to walk back soaking wet. As far as the food goes, it was decent. The jerk chicken was great as well as fish tacos. The drinks were good. They had entertaining shows at night in the main dining room. No nightlife past 11 pm so if you like that you will be disappointed. Another nice thing about this place is the amenities are all included in the room price so snorkeling, glass bottom boat, skiing, kayaking all included. Overall I give it a 3 out of 5 because I like a higher end vacation and this was not that. However, if you know what you’re getting from the start and you like just the basics with a few nice add ins, you’ll have a great time. Read less
