Sunset At The Palms

Negril, Jamaica

The hotel

Nestled in 10-acres of delightful tropical gardens, this award-winning eco-friendly resort is a sure-fire winner for adults looking for a peaceful and pampering retreat. Begin your holiday the minute you step off the plane with the Club MoBay VIP arrival service where you will be fast tracked through the Jamaican Immigration and Customs meaning you will be on the beach sipping a cocktail before you know it. Stay in exquisite wooden bungalows that sit atop sturdy stilts, so you feel like you’re in a tree house — albeit a luxury one, with polished wood floors, sleek showers with body jets and airy balconies furnished with a relaxing day bed. There are three different dining choices from the extensive International buffet at Palm Grove Restaurant to the creative Caribbean fusion menu at the à la carte Lotus Leaf. Guests rave about the spicy Jamaican ‘Jerk’ chicken that’s served at the Beach Bar and Grill during lunch — don’t miss it! The pool is perfect for lounging in the sun, or it’s a short escorted walk over the road to the celebrated Bloody Bay, a spectacular stretch of white sand beach fringed with picture-perfect palm trees.

My initial contact was with Doraine via email. An amazing concierge who reserved two special dinners at the Lotus Leaf, and the Chef’s Showcase prior to our arrival to the resort. We (my sister and I) we’re celebrating her birthday. When we finally met Doraine personally, she greeted us with a gorgeous smile and such warmth. We were at ‘home’ at the Sunset at the Palms. Doraine, you are so beautiful! Thank you for making our stay memorable! Jeveyon, escorted us daily to the beach. Rayon, taught me how to sail. I felt safe with you! Lynnette, we think about you often! You are our sister. You are so special. Believe it! Esroy ‘Sylvester’, aka ‘Christian’! You have wings of an angel! Brenda Lee, you treated us with such kindness. You are a classy woman! Cornelius, you made Tracy’s birthday dinner at the Lotus Leaf so wonderful! Thank you! Shout out to Shavon! A special recognition to a young man. You know who you are. You are a chef! You are a ‘fine’ young man! So fine! You will be an amazing entrepreneur. Don’t look back, soldier! Antoinnette, you are so young and so sweet! You waited for me to return to sail the following day. I appreciate you! Samantha! You helped us at the gift shop; buying souvenirs! You packed our purchased items with such care. You’re the ‘bomb’! There are vacations, then there is an experience! Explore Sunset at the Palms for ‘the experience’! Yeah mon! One love! Read less

The staff is amazing and we were treated like royalty. Sharon, the hotel manager, always makes us feel welcome and is so kind. Craig, is one of the most pleasant waiters we’ve ever had. He’s always smiling and making us feel comfortable. Every time we would go to the beach, we were greeted by Lynette, who always added that personal touch. The staff has this amazing ability to make you feel at home from the moment you step on the resort property. My husband and I felt safe and stress free! We could leave our busy lives behind and simply enjoy this special place. We will be back as soon as we can as this feels like a second home. Everything is clean and treated with care. You are treated like family! We highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed. It’s magical! Read less

I have also not seen such hard awesome hard workers in forever. You get a smile from each of them too. And man do they make some delicious food in their buffet. I will forever miss Lynford making be bouquets of flowers, and giving it to my husband to give to me. He also would stop us and tell us how important it is to them for us to have a good time here. Kerry the bartender was probably the fastest bartender I have seen in my life and really makes her guests feel welcome. I was talking to her like she was my best friend by the end of my trip and was very sad to say goodbye. Craig the waiter/bartender made me feel like a total princess! He was so incredibly kind. Even the people at the front gate were so caring and cheerful. It’s happiness everywhere here! The environment around you is so peaceful quiet and relaxing and then you can walk across the road and have a little beach and shopping time when you are ready for some noise. You never wait in a line here for food- it’s so perfect how many guests were here. Everyone is assisted nearly right away. Read less

My wife and I just returned home from a trip to Jamaica and the Sunset at the Palms where we chose to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Just let me say, this place is amazing. From the hotel manager Sharon, to the Security like Lynette, to the servers like Craig, and the concierges Loleta and Daniella, as well as every staff member that made us feel very special and like family. They make it their mission to make sure you want for nothing. We chose this resort because of the tree house style rooms with no hotel feel and the outdoor atmosphere, and it did not disappoint. We had a room where we watched the sunrises over the mountains from our balcony. We are so happy that we picked this place for our special occasion. We were treated amazingly from the moment we arrived and throughout our stay. The food and drinks were very very good, and complimented by the Lotus fine dining restaurant, and the Chef’s Showcase all included in your package with reservations. The beach was immaculate and swimming in the warm sea was like heaven. We are definitely going back. If your looking for a relaxing peaceful vacation, this IS the place for you. Already looking forward to next year. Read less

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sunset at the Palms the last week of August 2019. What can I say I never saw customer service like this in my life. The staff is incredible, couldn't think of one bad thing to say, as soon as I would think about getting a glass of water, the waitress would be pouring a glass of water in front of me. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful vacation this is the place to go. Cabins are private around very lush vegetation and you wake up every morning feeling at peace. The front desk was amazing, super informative with answering any questions you may have, including any time of the night. 24-hour service. The beach is incredible, you have your own private access, never more than 30 people at the beach, felt very private. However, the beach strip is shared with other resorts that you may walk along but your beach is reserved for residents of Sunset at the Palms. Only thing that was disruptive were the individual workers at the beach that would hustle you to purchasing excursions, however they were not members of the Sunset at the Palms and were not allowed to enter your area of the beach. The hustle is real in Jamaica, but at the same time, they were very friendly but kept asking if we needed anything. If you want to just stay at the beach though it might get a little boring, we enjoyed many different excursions, the transportation, and accommodation to and from the hotel were very safe and efficient. There were taxi's waiting outside the resort as well asking if we wanted to do a private tour but we opted to only use the resort's excursions. Overall, I felt very safe, everyone always smiles (even for days I was in a tired or bad mood, whenever I would see the staff smiling at me it really changed my mood and I felt better to)! The resort is extremely clean, good food, EXCELLENT service, amazing beach, very lush vegetation, beautiful country and beautiful people! Even when I would go outside the resort. These guys know how to serve! Read less
