The food, the room, the extra activities, resort itself was so amazing. We also had a Couples Massage on the resort and it was so relaxing. Being a smaller size resort is such a blessing. It is definitely a relaxing and comfortable experience. We’ve already referred other couples there. Sunset will always remain a special place for us. Read less

We have just returned after 8 days at the palms. We were looking for relaxation. No pressure. An escape. And that’s what we got. It’s the first time I have felt I should have booked a longer holiday and that the resort lived up to the pictures and feeling I had in my head From start to finish we just loved it. The staff are amazing and look after you so well. The food is some of the best we have had on holiday and buffets were generous (smoked salmon at breakfast and seafood night wasn’t low value). The Al la carte and chefs showcase were brilliant. Just one tip for the Palms… pizza on Italian night ☺️ Although not directly on the beach I felt this worked as you could visit and then escape back to your little piece of paradise. Yes, rooms are dark. You are set amongst palms, that inevitable. Yes, some rooms could do with updating. This didn’t affect our experience, we laughed most of it off (I’m not normally that person but that’s how chilled I was!) Yes, they do smoke out mosquitos at 5.30. Thank god! I got lots of bites but mostly sand fleas at the beach. I can’t leave this review without mentioning the lovely Lynford! We loved his garden tour and he clearly really cares about the nature you were surrounded with. And we got a hummingbird feeder from him. Highlight of my holiday was watching them feed whilst I sat in my treehouse! For the first time in my life, I will be going back!! Read less

Everything exceeded expectations. The Treehouses were lovely, the bed comfy and food and drink was great - altogether a relaxing vibe. The staff were excellent and friendly, especially Dahlia. We loved the fact that the non-motorised water sports were free and it was good to have a bar/restaurant on the beach. We also did a couple of trips which we much enjoyed - River Rafting and a visit to the waterfalls. Plus we got a cab to Ricks Cafe. We will be hoping to return, as we had such a brilliant time and we will definitely stay at Sunset at the Palms again. Read less

We were a family of 4 form the UK, all adults who arrived on the 20th of June for 11 nights, luckily leaving just before the airport closed for Storm Beryl, we had a wonderful stay at the resort, the hotel is unique, with the treetop rooms and feeling as though you are in the middle of the jungle with the private beach area only a 5min walk away across the road which is manned to help you cross, we had no issues with the food, the breakfast was excellent with a good choice, and the themed buffet nights were also to a good standard, not a huge buffet, but it works, as we find we don't want too much of a choice, as by time you get back to your table, your partner has already finished, we also tried the Lotus restaurant on three occasions and the Chefs Showcase twice, we can throughly recommend both places. Although we were out of season, the pool area was never busy, and the beach was the same, the sea is amazing. We went on two trips during our stay, both through the hotel, Ricks Cafe, which is well worth a visit, if only for a couple of hours, the vibe is excellent, we also done the Y's Falls with was also excellent plus the Black River which was Ok. Special shout outs go to Nadine and Big Man at the Pool bars, Sinclair who took us on our trips, Cornelius (my Deputy) in the restaurants, Seymour and Delaney at the Beach and Vanessa who always had a smile on her face and Sediesi our personal Concierge. Now, the only reason I have given this hotel a 4 star rating is for the following, the hotel does look a little tired, but don't take this away from how great the hotel is, our room was also a little tired, the Hairdryer and Shower head did not work when we arrived, both fixed within 24hrs though, I'm still not convinced we were in a deluxe room, as our room looked exactly like the Standard room on the website, plus some staff members when asked did think we were in a Standard room, although reception told us otherwise, lastly, note that the hotel is on the side of a busy main road, so you will get woken during the night with loud cars, even more louder Bikes, and lorries using their horns, we did get use to this, but only because we were there for a longer time, our room was situated in the middle row of three and we noted that some rooms did have windows, ours only had wire mesh for windows. and lastly, the gift shop is the worst part of the hotel, complete rip off and it's cheaper to get a taxi to Broadway shopping than use this shop, every item is well over 50% more than down the road, no reason for it really, thermal flasks were 25$+ down the road they are 12$, Sanitary products were 15$, 7$ down the road!!! Would we come back to this hotel, yes we would, Thanks for everything Sunset at the Palms, and we hope that you are all safe and well after Storm Beryl, John B Read less
