Most staff were friendly but not all. My son slipped and fell in front of beach bar. Bartenders saw and looked the other way. No offer to help or give ice. Nothing. It was other guests who ran up to help. One guest called front desk for ice pack and bandaid. Never came. We had to go to bar ourselves and make makeshift ice pack. Appalling. Once in elevator when it stopped there were landscapers outside the door. No path for me and my kids to get out. No one moved aside. I said excuse me and nothing. I had to say it again then they argued among themsleves as to who should move. I told the hotel manager who basically “yes’d” me that he would let someone know. No apologizes. Nada. For what i paid for a week i expected more from employees. Food was so so. Nothing special. Pools were great. Drink staff excellent. Beach cant be beat. I wouldnt go back. Negril was much better experience. Other guests i spoke to also agreed that beaches ocho rios is not worth it. Read less

Wonderful Friendly people at this resort. Smiles everywhere, always ready to help and just a pleasure to talk with everyone here. ROOMS - We had a beachfront room. Clean room, good housekeeping, and the best part was that it opened out to the beach ! Bathroom amenities was stocked on time. The room comes without any liquor when you check in, but the wine, beer and rum that I asked for came with an hour. I think I would have had to pay extra for a getting a bottle of scotch in the room, but the bar was just a few steps away, and so that was not an issue at all. Although the room opened out out the beach, ours had the sailboats right outside, and obstructed the ocean view. That's still just a minor issue, and in no way diminished the pleasure of waking up to a picture postcard view every day. BARS & RESTAURANTS - We were very lucky that part of of the BBQ restaurant had been converted to a Jamaican restaurant for the entire week. The food there was wonderful !! All the jamaican food that I had been craving for - mutton curry, jerk chicken, rice and peas and many others. Delicious; I should have eaten there more often. PHOTO SHOP - We used the photo shop, and are really happy with the photographs that we bought. Remember that the photo shoot is free, but the pictures cost about $18 each. McShawn was our photographer - very patient, friendly, and did a great job with the pictures. Plan the shoot around sunset and you will get some memorable pictures. An example of how nice the people here are is that the day after our photo shoot, we were taking some pictures on our own, and another resort photographer stopped by to give us tips which helped me get some very nice family photos. POOL &BEACHES - I am an early riser, and so at 6:00, I never had any trouble getting chairs on either the beach or the pool. I did see people searching unsuccessfully later in the morning, however by afternoon, chairs would open up. WATER ACTIVITIES - The staff was wonderful, including the people who took us sailing. We did that multiple times, and every time was a different and fun experience. RESTAURANT TIP - Make reservations at the restaurants. We were unable to get a reservation at the French restaurant the last day and ended up waiting for 90 minutes - the only negative in the whole trip, especially because I was told by concierge that the wait time was usually just 15 min - but when I got to the restaurant, they were surprised that concierge did not make a reservation Read less

We were really impressed with what was included, and the quality of the sports equipment. There is a lot to do on site and all ages are catered for. Image of the Tripadvisor rating Awful customer service—lost bags and stolen refunds.

Aug 21, 2019 Jen R Cleveland, Ohio

Warning—awful customer service. While our time at BOR was good, the customer service is AWFUL. They failed to put one of our tote bags on the airport shuttle. They “found it” but won’t ship it to our home. They claim we left it on our room, which we did not. It was attached to a roll away, which made it on to the shuttle. Mind you, this was… Read more

Mind you, this was our carry on with the girls’ baby blankets. Then, our Beaches arranged return Jet Blue flight had a 4+ hour delay, departing at 1:30 in the morning, after we left the resort the prior morning at 9 am. Jet Blue let us cancel, and we paid for a flight on Delta. While Jet Blue refunded the flight, no refund from Beaches, yet. I’ve called both the resort and main numbers. I was supposed to get a call back yesterday—but total silence. Everything is great at the resort—until it is not. Then, good luck. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating It was ok at best

Aug 21, 2019 Tommyk1978 Brackney, Pennsylvania

First off the two hour travel to the resort is killer, especially on a bus with little to NO air conditioning. Secondly it is even longer when the bus crashed into another car. The trip was ok at best
