Two hosts that helped during my friends wedding celebrations were Lady J, and Yannick(or yonique) excuse the misspell! these two were incredible hosts for the events planned, and even when spotted at the swim up bar.. the food servers, cooks, and bartenders, djs all worked very hard and it made my experience amazing! The only downfall i would say is when i wanted to do an excursion there weren’t many options provided at the desk, they only gave me about 3 options and one of those options you needed at least 4 people to book in order for them to take you. For me as a solo traveler that was a bit of an inconvenience to not be able to participate in an excursion i was interested in because of that limit. i ended up booking excursions that i saw from my driver that brought me to the hotel.. but other than that great staff great experience oh and the pool is open 24 hrs how lit is that .. :) thank you all keep doing what your doing Read less

So after reading all the reviews we were worried! We are used to all singing and dancing resorts in Mexico and Dubai. Where 5 star is 6 star! Let me say this, this is in Jamaica and it’s like many other carribean hotels on the islands. There were 2 adults and three kids in a family superior room. The room was facing the sea, near reception which was perfect. The rooms are dated, but clean. The bed layout was not good. We asked for a separate pull out. The mini fridge was good and replenished and the coffee facilities. The red lane spa products were lovely! The buffet breakfast and lunch always nice food, we got there at the start. Servers were always so attentive, Sasheen was 5 star. My kids loved her! The evening buffet not so good. Just stick to local cuisine. The jerk hut was fab, the pop up restaurant was terrible. We waited 1.5 hours for starters! All the ala Carey restaurants we could not get in as the waits were over an hour and with kids, it’s a no no. Management need to have a booking system, please as the turn up and walk in does not work. The water park was a big hit, yes some bits need some maintenance but it was great. The beach and water sports were fab, always clean and welcoming. The crepe place was delicious! And was the juice bar. The entertainment team was amazing all the ladies my daughter loved! She is 6 and didn’t want to go kids club, she wanted to watch the team, do games all day and watch shows at night. Our baby is just 1 and every morning due to time difference she was up at 4am. I would get up and walk around the resort. There was coffee and drinks available 24/7 by buffet, also food from 5am. I was so grateful for this every morning. The resort is so clean, it does need maintenance but these guys work so hard, so friendly, so welcoming and make you feel like your home. It is 2.5 hours from Kingston airport which was a lot after a 10 hour flight. We did a few excursions and would we return?! Yeh man! Read less

This was our second visit to Beaches Ocho Rios with our three teenage grandkids. We are Sandalcoholics, having visited Sandals resorts in Jamaica since 1998. This was by far our best vacation ever. First off, thank you to Michael McHugh from Dream Makers Vacation Services for taking care of every detail and being in constant touch with us throughout our time there to make sure everything was just as we wanted it. We arrived around 235 PM and were greeted by Dwight the Hotel Manager and Naomi from the Loyalty office, as well as Burt and Ernie! Our room was ready so we were taken there immediately so we had a good part of our first day to enjoy the resort. What set this apart from other trips was the staff there. They are truly outstanding and we did not come across any team member who was unhelpful or unfriendly. The grands met up with a number of other young people so their day was filled with the water park, banana boat, sailing, snorkleing and plenty of fruity drinks! Due to the low occupancy the restaurants were open on a staggered schedule so we were unable to enjoy Out of the Blue which was only offered on Thursday evening. We did not have one meal we were not happy with. Bayside was our go to for breakfast and lunch and we always found something to our liking. Thanks to Tamara ( omelet chef), Shantel, Ardian, and special thanks to Deivel and Ojay (two servers who brightened our day everyday with their sunny smiles and great conversation). The evening entertainment was wonderful and we were amazed at the talent in the Entertainment Staff. Our room (HOVK) was spacious, clean and had a great view of the stage and sea. Housekeeping took great care of us. The resort overall is well kept, clean and the grounds immaculate. Yes it is an older resort but I saw no evidence of lack of upkeep. I want to mention some standout team members who made our trip memorable. Conwae at the main pool and the water park, Nickell, Tamara, Jaevon and Fitzroy at the Bayside Bar, Shanice in Loyalty, DJ in Concierge, Tanera and Duane in Photo, and Shanique in the Gift Shop. A special shoutout to Akeem of the Entertainment Staff. He took a special interest in my grands and made sure they were entertained and well taken care of. See you next year, BOR! Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Off season is the key

Going off season was great, no lines for meals, no crowds. The staff were delightful! There are some things to take into consideration. The excursions can be very far from the resort. A biking-waterfall trip was 90 mins away on very windy roads. A 2-3 hour excursion took all day. I would recommend calling before booking to see. Our room was located within 50 feet of a nightclub. It was very loud. Calling to verify proximity the in hotel night club would be helpful. Staff did relocate us but wanted to charge us. The scuba instructor we had was great! There is a medical questionnaire that I wish we knew about ahead of time. One member of our party got clearance from his PCP but it delayed us a day. They do offer their doctor for a fee. If it wasn’t off season we may missed our chance to try scuba. It is very worth it though. It’s an older, smaller resort. Read less
