Hector and Ashpole were terrific taking care of everything we could have wanted and more. Courtney was fantastic in the dining area, looking after Susan and her allergies. Benito was always happy in the mornings when we would see him in the room and shanice (I hope that is correct) was a wonderful young lady who was extremely nice. Great holiday at a terrific resort where the people really make a difference. Read less

Smaller than all other resorts but so peaceful and personal. Really quick to get orientation and meet all the staff who you then see every day. Visited Ochi a couple of times - nice but seemed so loud and busy after our tranquil haven at SRP. Pool teeny but beach great and 3 brill piers/jetties to sunbathe on. More than anything else the people made the holiday, so here goes and hopefully we don't forget anybody! Neil our butler - thanks for everything and hope Chase is getting better Adrian - beach bar and constant drink supplier to pier - great guy Dacia - thanks for sorting our SSG out Pamela - entertainment supreme and permanently happy person Sherika - we met you first day at breakfast and you remembered us and looked after us every day Keanio - such a great guy - hope you get your deserved promotion Melody, Barbara and lots more I have forgotten thank you all for making it a fabulous holiday Graham and Jane (mr and Mrs Santa!) Our room was spotlessly clean, bed super comfy, view amazing - lots of treats left for us, great choice of drinks in room. The beach was idyllic, small and beautiful and never crowded, spotlessly clean. The food was lovely - breakfast was our favourite, you could never get bored with what is on offer! For the evenings we ate sometimes at SRP and sometime at Ochi - great to have the choice. The thing that makes SRP is the staff. They were all super smiley and friendly and just made us feel special. Special mention to our butlers Orayne and Ricardo who really did try to anticipate everything we may have needed - we liked being escorted to Soy, and having pizza on the beach! We loved the room treats/surprises. The butlers really made our break amazing. Shanice on the terrace was also lovely - super smiley, really great service. The man in charge of watersports (Orlando?) couldn’t have been more helpful - we tried snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boarding - loved them all. When I had a reaction to something around my eye, he personally rang the nurse and escorted us to Ochi to see her. Amazing service. The massage was pricey but you sure get what you pay for - the whole experience was heavenly. The gym was small but adequate, spotlessly clean and air con was great. The tennis courts were fun (raquets and balls provided). The evenings can be quiet but you can always nip over to Ochi next door, the Speakeasy was really fun....they will find a way to bring you back if you miss the last bus! We had a great night in the SRP on disco night! About 20 of us chatting, dancing, trying the cocktails and ordering lots of bar food - a great way to meet new friends. We loved it here - can’t wait to get back!! Read less

This review is way overdue but . . .well. . . the holidays. Sandals Royal Plantation is my happy place. This was our fourth visit and every time it truly does feel like home. This was also our first time in one of the rooms with a balcony and now we'll never book without a balcony again. Every morning we had coffee, fruit, and bacon delivered to our room early; then worked out, then a big breakfast. I head to the beach, husband to the room to read, followed by long day drinking lunch, nap, then we do it all over again. It's the people and the service that make RP so special. So here are some that we want to shout out: Our butlers Shaun and Gladstone. Thanks for making my birthday special, for the plantains in the room every evening, for always checking on us. And particularly for the champagne and snacks in the gazebo our last night. Adrian. Your hugs are the BEST! (as well as everything else you do) Hoplyn and Junior at the wobbly peacock Fantastic wait staff: Carlos,Ornella, Kimberly, Keenan (who was still training), Chase and Sam , and Shanace, and Clayton. Princess went above and beyond. Loved loved loved our photographer Stephan. He is a gem. Simon, you always run the restaurants with grace and charm. There are several wait staff at the Terrace for breakfast and, unfortunately, I can't recall their names. All should be recognized (one has the most amazing smile, one was pregnant, and one sings all the time). Tavia, thanks for your patience in rebooking. We had one evening with poor service at the Terrace with someone who was new (never could see his name), but the manager that night handled it. We are going to Royal Caribbean in 3 weeks because our friends, who also love RP and have been twice, have never been to another Sandals. But we will be back at RP, hopefully sometime during 2019. I'll start with the positives, the rooms are solid and you can't hear other guests in their rooms, avoid room 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, way too near the night time shouting of the people who can't speak quietly. The sea is stunning, the beaches beautiful we really enjoyed these, although there are lots of steps. The visits to the other resorts… Read more
I'll start with the positives, the rooms are solid and you can't hear other guests in their rooms, avoid room 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, way too near the night time shouting of the people who can't speak quietly. The sea is stunning, the beaches beautiful we really enjoyed these, although there are lots of steps. The visits to the other resorts made us feel relieved to leave and return back to the Royal Plantation. When enjoying a civilised meal in a restaurant we didn't expect to see grown ups shouting at each other across the restaurant, but this was the norm on all sites (even the plantation) from the drunks. One evening three of the four of us ate squid and were ill within 20 minutes, we suffered 24 - 48 hours of food poisoning. When we told staff we were visited several times by a very bizarre Health and Safety guy who we joked had become our ghost. At first he was apologetic about the food poisoning he even offered to give us something, perhaps golf and spa treatment, but then he backtracked and didn't offer anything to us in the end, apart from a run down of his schedule each day he was in, very bizarre. The place was full of people that loved Sandals and some people were regular visitors to the plantation. Another bizarre event was the returners dinner which we attended as we have been to Sandals before. We had pre dinner cocktails, and then were shown into a cold conference room, we were shown to one table, sat down with other people then were asked to move, we then moved to another table and sat just the four of us on our own, we were asked to split up, we said no, we were then asked to move again, at which point we walked out, you don't treat paying guests this way! On the Tuesday we had scaffolding put up outside of our sea view windows, we complained and were moved. As there was four of us we had the experience of four butlers, three of them were great, one of them thought it would be funny to give us misleading information, it got quite tiring in the end. All in all an enjoyable relaxing time for the four of us, could have done without the food poisoning, the shouting and the scaffolding. Read less
