This resort really is a palace and a spectacular one at that. Moon Palace Cancun lies on Cancun’s tranquil south shore, nestled between a long, white sand beach and 123 acres of tropical foliage. A 27-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course is available for a memorable round of golf. Rooms are very elegant, in fact, all have double Jacuzzi baths! You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to your dining options with 17 restaurants to choose from. There are incredible floor shows every evening, with the Noir Nightclub picking up the beat until the early hours.

2052 rooms on 3 floors in several buildings with 8 lifts. All with private balcony/terrace, air-conditioning, smart TV with Google Chromecast, WiFi access, direct-dial telephone, coffee maker, 24-hour room service, mini-fridge with soft drinks, bottle of wine, spirits optic, water and beer (which is stocked alternate days), safe, Jacuzzi, bathrobes and slippers, turn-down service, hairdryer and straighteners. Non-smoking rooms on request. Superior Deluxe Garden Rooms with garden views, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.


All Inclusive of: all meals and snacks, 24-hour room service, stocked mini-bar, in room drinks cabinet, wifi. Domestic and imported beverages including sparkling wine. All activities, entertainment, land sports and non-motorised water sports, including the business centres.

Junior Suite Golf Course View Rooms include personal use of a golf cart for getting around the resort, DVD player, ceiling fan, separate seating area and private screened terrace with table and chairs, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Superior Deluxe Ocean View Rooms with stunning views across the Caribbean sea sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Superior Deluxe Oceanfront Rooms are as above but closer to the ocean, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Swim Up Suites are located in the sunrise section of the hotel with direct access to the private pool from the room terrace, garden/pool views and a private balcony with table and chairs. Suites have a private bath with shower, double whirlpool tub and 1 king-size bed or double beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Family Deluxe Suites are located in both the Sunrise and Nizuc sections and consist of 2 bedrooms (one with 1 king-size bed, the other with 2 double beds), Xbox 360/DVD player with DVDs and games available on request (subject to availability), family in-room amenities including kids' room service menu and bathroom products. Sleeping maximum 6 adults or children.

Superior Honeymoon Suites benefit from a guaranteed king-size bed, a liquor dispenser with Premium, upgraded brands of liquor, L'Occitane bath amenities, access to the Private Beach Lounge area with waiter service, an exclusive beach bag (one per stay), an Aromatherapy menu, an Espresso/American coffee maker, nightly Petit Fours, pillow menu and turn-down service and private check-in. These rooms sleep maximum 2 adults.

If you are thinking about getting married or planning a wedding, the Moon Palace is NOT the place to do it. My family has been coming to the Moon Palace for about 15 years, and we have always loved our stays here. The amazing service staff, like Pablo and Lizbeth at the pool, Ruben, Abraham, and Pascual at the swing bar, Zacarías at the lobby bar, Big Willy at the golf course, Jesus the omelet guy at Bungabillas, and of course Ernesto, the Dancing Chef, make our trips unforgettable. During one of our trips, we saw a wedding event happening and ever since then, I knew this was the place I wanted to get married when my time came. Ten years later, when I became engaged and began the wedding planning process, there was no doubt in my mind that the Moon Palace was where I wanted to get married. I wish someone had warned me about the disorganized nightmare the whole process would be from beginning to end. Had I known this, I would have planned my wedding somewhere else. I began communicating with Palace Resorts about my wedding in October 2022. Our wedding planning journey started with Jessica Rivero, who assigned us to work with Andrea Fiallos, who then passed us on to Thalia Suarez Gomes. My family even purchased the VIP membership in hopes of making the wedding planning process easier, as we were already being given the runaround. Communication (both email and phone calls) was dreadful, with Andrea being the most difficult person to contact, but we finally reserved our May 4, 2024 date. In September 2023, my fiancé and I decided to visit the resort for the Preview of Paradise event that the Palace Weddings department holds to showcase the wedding venues. We settled on the January 2024 dates presented on the Palace Resorts website and attempted to contact Andrea. She took about a week to respond, telling me that coordination was not her job and that I needed to contact my wedding specialist. When I told her I didn’t have one, it took another two weeks, on September 20th, to find out that Lizet Calvillo Gomez would be my wedding specialist and would get incontact with me. Excitedly, I awaited Lizet’s response. When I got no reply, I sent another email on October 12th and two more times, with the last being sent on November 8th. Lizet finally responded, stating that reservations had to be made with Andrea Fiallos. At this point, I was becoming frustrated with the lack of communication between the reservation and wedding specialists. I ended up using my membership nights to attend the Preview of Paradise. During the showcase, my fiancé and I were the only couple without our specialist present to note and plan our wedding, which was only three months away. When we met with Lizet, we outlined our desires for our wedding and returned home believing that Lizet would put together the wedding of our dreams. We were wrong. Upon arriving for our wedding on Wednesday, May 1st, we learned from Lizet that she had not planned our Welcome Dinner for Friday, May 3rd, and that it was too late to arrange it. She claimed the chef would tell her that she wasn’t doing her job, which she clearly wasn’t. She had suggested the Welcome Dinner and a Farewell Brunch, which was also not planned. It was upsetting and disappointing, to say the least. My fiancé asked if we could have a cocktail hour to welcome our guests, who had traveled from San Francisco, Los Angeles, D.C., New York, Guatemala, and Mexico. I am grateful for the intern, Sofia, who made this happen for us. I had 109 guests at my wedding, 95 of whom stayed at the resort, booking about 38 rooms. We were sold on the idea of using 17 hours for private events, which included our Welcome Dinner, wedding, and Farewell Brunch. However, our wedding specialist only booked the 5 hours for our actual wedding, neglecting to plan the dinner and brunch. There were too many people to reserve a dinner at one of the resort’s many restaurants. Unfortunately, the wedding day did not go much better. The flowers for the altar that I had chosen were nowhere to be seen, the procession details were a mess, Lizet was on her phone with AirPods in her ears 80% of the time, the signage for the welcome into the reception was missing, the tables for cocktail hour were never set up, the first dances were rushed, the photo booth we paid for started late, there was no printing paper for the photos, and Lizet disappeared halfway through the reception. To top it off, the only drink I wanted to be served couldn’t be made because Lizet didn’t request the ingredients. Sofia did a great job constantly checking in with us and doing her best. Sofia and our MC were great, but if it weren’t for our amazing bartenders Ruben and Zacarías, the reception would have felt like the worst waste of money ever spent. Don’t get married at the Moon Palace. It is a stressful, frustrating experience that no one in the Weddings department seems to care about. It has now been 20 days since my wedding, and I have requested to speak to someone twice, but no one has contacted me. The infuriating part is that we are membership holders, and if we’re being treated this way, I can’t imagine how non-members are treated. You are better off saving your money for a dream honeymoon because you will not get that dream wedding experience here. Read less

We had an amazing time and the service was outstanding!!! It was a great place for a family (but anyone could enjoy)!!! We can’t stop talking about how wonderful everything was and we have to say we especially loved Guadalupe Montes’ service! She was incredibly friendly and attentive!!!

Booked seven nights at the Moon Palace to wind down after daughter's Vegas wedding. We had visited the hotel twenty years back so was eager to discover how the years had treated her. For those unfamiliar with this resort, it is actually three hotels in one, the Sunrise, Nizuc and the Grand. Staying at either the Sunrise or Nizuc allows guests to interchange freely between the two, using any restaurants and facilities, with trolly buses moving you between. These buses are fantastic and are never more than a couple of minutes away. We had opted for the Moon Palace Sunrise section of the resort, which was great but two days in decided to upgrade to the Grand which allows full use of the resort including the water park. You would need three visits to sample the Moon Palaces amazing restaurant selection so can only comment on our choices. The Sunrise Momo Habachi restaurant and the Nizuc Brazilian were both top notch. The Grand JC steakhouse and Tavola Italian both warranted two visits each. Evening entertainment was enjoyable and varied and enjoyed visiting the Nizucs English pub and the Library aka the Grands Speakeasy. Fitted in a round of golf which was both challenging and picturesque. What else would you expect from a Niclaus designed course. The golf club boast three nines, the Lakes, Dunes and Jungle. Room was excellent, as was the mattress and pillows. Good choice of restaurants and food. Some areas of hotel looking tired. Most Sun beds could do with a refurb! Limited choice of wine for All Inc. Cocktails for me didn’t quite seem to be right, very watery! Nice holiday but would I go back - no.
