Excellent food quality, rooms, housekeeping, pretty much everything, just expect a bit of rudeness if you are not a foreigner. Especially at the main buffet, you can tell the difference on how they take care of foreigners. You may need to tip in dollars so they can at least look at you.

The welcome with cool towels as you get out of the taxi is a lovely touch and as you start the rather lengthy check in process I don’t ever remember having to sign so many forms before The luggage is taken to your room and the excellent service begins The rooms are nice, not sure paying the extra for an ocean view is worth it as you would be hard pushed to have a room without an ocean view? There are tired parts to the room, our headboard had mildew on it and there was a fusty smell in the wardrobe The balconies are perfect, glass fronted so a perfect view We were on the 19th floor so a lovely view. ALL of the staff in this hotel are amazing, attentive, polite and really can’t do enough for you The pool staff come round regularly for drink orders and are always smiling The entertainment staff are brilliant!!! All young lads with such enthusiasm and a desire to give you a good time. We had a few rainy days and they really worked hard to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves with extra activities laid on Special mentions to Diago, Alain and Siergo (think that’s right?) you guys work so hard and are always smiling!! It’s so appreciated. (Can’t remember the one starting with R sorry you are amazing too!) The restaurants and food are all very good, nice to have Al a carte menus and a great choice. The wait times were never too long and the text system to get you back when the table is ready is great. We had a one night that was a bit fraught because the Italian was closed which made other restaurants in demand and getting a table anywhere was hard (don’t close your restaurants!!?) you have guests who need to eat. The food quality is incredible right from the breakfast buffet to the fine dining. The drink quality and knowledge of the bar staff with cocktails etc is fabulous too Now for a few negatives, the furniture in the bars and common areas are all so very unsuitable If you want to sit in a group or play cards the bar furniture is not suitable for this They have high stools at all of the bars and these are really high and all a bit worn Even the main entertainment bar the vine piano bar is badly laid out with a stage in the middle and really heavy unsuitable chairs for the staff to move If you sit in the bar area you are ‘side on’ to the entertainment and the stage in the middle is just not suitable The entertainment in the piano bar was really high quality and worth a visit each night The main lobby area as mentioned in most reviews has no air conditioning and is just stifling making it uncomfortable to sit in this is also the case in the main bar area. They have a huge fire on too most of the time which really doesn’t help???? Another negative is the big groups of loud Americans (sorry if you are one reading this but really they have no volume control) they can be very overpowering around the pool areas and we were woken EVERY night at some point with groups returning to their room like it was mid day! There was a full on party going on a few rooms down one night but a call to reception at midnight and they did stop it for us. There are not many areas where you can eat outside, this is something I love to do on holiday especially breakfast but most restaurants are inside only. Olio is an outside restaurant but reserved breakfast and lunch for preferred guests (an extra that most said wasn’t worth it) you get access to the infinity pool which is more sheltered from the wind but a little soulless. Also nowhere is it mentioned that non preferred guests are not allowed to use the infinity pool you find this out when your key won’t work to access it. But more outside dining options would be nice The gym opens at 6am and one morning we arrived at 6.15 to it being closed we had to make FOUR phone calls to get it opened with promises that someone was coming and eventually at 6.45 it was opened. Not great I have to mention the wine tasting sommelier he is knowledgeable, friendly and fun. The free wine tasting is a great activity every day, you learn so much So in summary would we stay again? Yes probably as we had a great time but this hotel is not perfect, maybe needs a refurb in some areas but on the whole is a lovely place to holiday. Read less

We stayed in the Preferred Club Master Suite which I would highly recommend. It had a lounge area with 2 bathrooms, wrap around balcony, bath overlooking the ocean and was so spacious. We arrived at 6pm after a 23 hour flight from Australia, the staff were extremely welcoming and check us in at level 21 in the preferred club with a glass of champagne. There was a tropical storm during our stay so we made the most of the all inclusive food, drinks and activities. Our favourite restaurant was Bluewater and the rib eye steak was cooked perfectly. Dragons restaurant was another favourite we enjoyed prawn tempura sushi, potsticker dumplings and beef short rib. The only average meal we had was the Mexican in the Market Cafe but it was our first night and we wanted a quick easy meal. Olio was great for breakfast in the preferred club which offered an ala carte menu. As mentioned in previous reviews the hotel lobby and Dragons restaurant were warm but bearable. The room service was great and allowed us to relax and enjoy our amazing room, just order a few options off the menu in case you don’t enjoy one of the meals. We enjoyed the sports bar where we were able to play some pool and socialise with other guests. I would definitely recommended getting the preferred club access especially if you encounter some average weather. We had exclusive access to the infinity pool on level 12 and great butler service from Sarai who provided daily updates of hotel activities and attended to all of our needs in relation to our room. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special Read less
