Elias was an excellent server. We had a great time. We were there two nights and he was extremely attentive. We will gladly go back when we come back to visit. The service was impeccable and the food was good.

Never given proper Cutlery just a Knife & Fork with a Soup Spoon for Cake & Deserts. NO Air Conditioning in Resturants. We are not vegetarian but really food was not suitable for a non-meat eater with very little choice of vegetables.

Just got back from a two week stay here for our honeymoon and had the most amazing time apart from two slight gripes which I’ll list once I’ve highlighted all that was good: great location, fab views, pools and a beautiful beach (with easy access from the hotel too), mostly extremely helpful and friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for you from the front desk, concierge and waiting staff. As well as it being our honeymoon it was also my birthday whilst we were there so we not only received several complimentary delicious sweet treats but also a celebratory in room breakfast on a day of our choosing. Our room was clean and comfortable and was often cleaned more than once a day. We managed to visit all of the restaurants during our stay with Blue Water, Dragon and Market Cafe being our favourites - so much tasty food. The security was also taken very seriously and I felt very safe here. Only negative things I’d add (but I must stress the good outweighed the bad) were the building works (we were notified about in advance) which often started early and went on until quite late into the evening and we were also served by an extremely rude waiter on one of the evenings. Also others have noted about the lobby being too hot which I do agree with. Read less

As far as resorts go, Secrets the Vine, Cancun, is middle of the pack. I stayed in the Preferred Club Ocean View Master Suite. The room and views were incredible. The pull out couch however, was terrible. Let’s just say the stiffest and springiest mattress you can imagine. I ended up sleeping on the opposite couch, because it was more comfortable than the pullout. Now, my back is killing me. The food at this resort is incredible, but the service is incredibly slow. Almost like you’re being ignored. I thought this was funny, because I’m a very generous tipper. If you want to make reservations at a restaurant, they pressure you into buying a $10 bottle of wine for $120. Do this, or wait 1-2 hours with a buzzer to get in. It’s this way with Preferred Club or not. At the Lobby Bar, I was often ignored. Eye contact was made, but several times I wasn’t asked what I want to drink, or how I am doing. The beach is beautiful, but the red flags are often out, and it’s very rough. After everything, the level 23 butlers (Abdy and Alberto, were great). Jesus, at Salt Water Grill, was incredible. Angel, at BlueWater Grill, was the best. He went above and beyond, and went out of his way to make sure the meal was beyond perfect, on several occasions. Another Angel, that does more of the activities (song trivia, dance lessons, etc.) was beyond amazing. He made my brothers birthday extra special. If it wasn’t for the employees listed above, this Resort would be a much lower score. The worst thing about this resort, is the Air Conditioning. Every restaurant, and the lobby, are extremely hot.
