We upgraded to the proffered club honeymoon suite and got the 28th floor, pomerol, the room itself was stunning and so big. Caesar & Leti were our amazing butlers, nothing was too much trouble and Angela was our maid who was fab, room turned down every night, slippers by the bed it was perfect. The preferred pool was where we spent most of our time, Angel was the absolute best, always happy to help and such a lovely guy! We ate a lot at Olio, the lady who greeted us every day was so welcoming and lovely (sorry I didn’t get your name) , Dayna was our server and she was great, always happy and friendly! We ate at the steak restaurant & Italian restaurant twice, these were gorgeous both times. Didn’t have a great meal at the Asian restaurant, food wasn’t the best however every other meal we have had was amazing. Service from all staff at the hotel was top notch. Dancers on a Friday night were amazing. 100% recommend booking preferred club, even check in was so much easier and greeted with a Prosecco! Love this place! Read less

We have visited multiple Secrets and I would rate this one as very good. My disappointment was the preferred club that didn't truly have great snacks or premium liquor. We have visited multiple Secrets and I would rate this one as very good. My disappointment was the preferred club that didn't truly have great snacks or premium liquor. The best vodka they had was Absolute. Generally they would have Grey Goose or Kettle One. The coffee bar on the main floor was fabulous for coffee and snacks. The pretzels are a must have and the staff is amazing. The pools and pool service is amazing. Special shout out to Roberto and Kewi who always ensured we were taken care of. The sargassum and rip tide has taken away from the beaches but they do what they can to keep the area clean. We had some fun swims in the ocean when the tide was lower. The poolside burger buffet was perfect and tasty. Best fries I've ever had. Asian and steakhouse were our favourite restaurants. Italian was hit and miss and I didn't find the service that great. The gym was fantastic! Always clean, large with an ocean view. If you want good beach chairs go early and by early I mean before 7! Overall really great. You will lack for nothing at this resort. Staff is over the top amazing. Read less

Secret the vine is a nice hotel, and there are lots of entertainment. Specially the infinity pool on the 12 floor. Also, Daniel from the entertainment team is so nice and I really enjoy talking with him.

Without them I would give this resort an "Average" rating. First the bad. 1. The food is VERY inconsistent. Our group had some great meals and some really bad ones. - Steakhouse was the worst - extremely overcooked beef and forgettable sides - The grill by the pool started out great but by day 2 had run out of cheese for burgers and some of the condiments - Italian restaurant was terriffic - the eggplant and gnocchi were stand outs - Casual seafood restaurant was probably the best - ceviche was truly delicious 2. All the reviews that talk about the people that show up at 6am and put their stuff in a pool chair to reserve it and then go back to bed are totally true. I know this because we made sure to see the sun rise one morning and that's exactly what happening. 3. There's a definite cut back on quality in the rooms. - for example the remote in my room didn't have a battery cover and so they covered it with electrical tape (see pic) - The flat sheet on the bed's is an obviously older sheet than the rest of the bedding, that in itself is not a bad thing, but when the flat sheet is worn so thin it rips I have a problem. 4. This one is only annoying for "preferred level" guests - The snacks offered in the lounge are slim pickings and obviously leftover from the restaurants - Don't expect much more than the coffee machine and pastries for breakfast - The bar is rolling banquet bar that isn't stocked for much so the staff has to run to get supplies if anyone askes for something more than a margarita - This one is just my preference and I admit it but the seats are so low my knees were up to my chin when I sat in the chairs 5. But here's the worst - there's a serious humidity problem on the lobby level, and it just makes it super unpleasant down there. There's even a few places on that level that have a sewage smell (that's being combatted by the number of refreshers scattered around). The plumbing problems increased throughout our stay - but I'm just going to stop there instead of going into details Now the good: - As I mentioned at the start, the staff was so wonderful - every interaction I had exceeded my expectations - The wine tastings! We attended a couple of the free tastings and enjoyed them so much we actually payed for one of the more detailed sessions. The consensuses from our entire group was how much we enjoyed the experiences and that all of us actually learned something - The hotel's beach is beautiful! I know that the Yucatan is suffering from excessive seaweed being washed up the moment (thanks global warming!) but I'm personally fine stepping over some seaweed to walk into water that doesn't have any seaweed growing in the shallows Would I stay there again? Nope - there's only so much good customer service from the employees can make up for. Read less
