The hotel

Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort is an adults-only, all-suite hotel, just 10 minutes north of Cancun. On a lovely white sand beach in the resort of Playa Mujeres. Just a 10-minute drive north from Downtown Cancun in an exclusive gated community, located inside a championship 18-hole Playa Mujeres Golf Course, designed by golf legend Greg Norman. Transfer time from airport: 35 minutes.

To start, the beach is incredible. We had access to the preferred club so we were able to get a cabana where we were EXPERTLY taken care of by the beach concierge Alejandro. He made my husband and I feel like royalty for how accommodating he was. He made the upgrade to the preferred club worth it 100%! The cabanas are a great touch and getting lunch, delivered to you, on the beach with an incredible view, there was absolutely not a single thing more we could have asked for. The wait staff on the beach, Jazmin and Delmi specifically would ask us by name every 10 minutes what we needed and were so quick and kept us hydrated, well fed, and kept a cold drink in our hands! In the preferred club we were always greeted with smiles and there the server Eugenia, wow! She would make sure that if there was anything you needed, she would get it. Kept the tables in the club perfectly clean and had the most wonderful demeanor. The pool was a little cold for me, for some reason the ocean felt warmer (but we are beach and ocean people). The hot tub wasn’t a hot tub, it was a warm tub, but others seemed to enjoy. The service on our pool day, done by Mary, was spectacular. She was SPEEDY! We had the ocean front room with the plunge pool, absolutely incredible. The view of the sunrise was amazing. The pool didn’t get sun after 1pm, but the water in the pool was warm so that was okay. Lastly, the food. We ended up going to the French restaurant twice because we thought it was the best food. The cut of beef was the best on the resort, and both times we greatly enjoyed the meal. Our server, Artimo (I may be mistaken on the spelling) was better than any server we have had in the states in a while. He was extremely pleasant and made the meal! Overall would recommend, so much so that we are already planning a trip for early 2025. Read less

She took care of any request we had and gave us great dinner recommendations for our romantic dinner. Dennis was the bartender we saw most in the preferred lounge and was always helpful. Apolo, Cesar & Incencio we met at the bar with the rope swings where we went daily for a good drink and conversation. All of the staff we met were helpful and had great recommendations for making the most of our stay. The food was good and we had plenty of options between Secrets and the Dreams resort right next to it. For food, we definitely recommend trying the lasagna bolognese from Portofino! Read less

Great customer service. Food and drink not a good as I expected. For the price I’d expect this to be very good rather than average or o.k. It was nice that you could go to the property next door as it gave you more options.

The weather, food, service, beautiful resort and rooms were lovely. Of the wait staff, two of the individuals we ended up requesting was Karen and Oscar. They both went above and beyond in terms of service, professionalism, friendliness on our first encounter and throughout our visit--just consistently kind and super nice!!
