Vaccines complete and we can relax a little after a year of anxiety. Paraiso de la bonito has made us welcome and protected. The entire staff is wearing masks and being careful to reduce direct contact with anything that we touch. Restaurant menus are scanned onto our phones or tablets for ease of use and safety. Everyone is doing the best that they can to make us feel safe during this recovery time. The restaurants are open on alternate days. The food and drinks are as wonderful as always. Recovery is a slow process but it is being done in a way that ensures quality of life here. The rooms are spotless and house keeping is doing what they can to make sure we feel comfortable and safe. The entire staff from the general manager on down are visible every day touring the grounds. They are asking guests if they are enjoying themselves and seeking to know what can be done to improve their days here. Yes, some services have been reduced for safety and staffing. However, everyone is doing the best that they can during this recovery time. This is our sixth trip here and it is always wonderful to be back. Will update later with praise for this wonderful staff that makes this resort a great experience. Read less

After staying at the Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita for just over a week, I've come to the realization that a property doesn't need the Four Seasons (or other similar quality brands) name stamped on it to offer the same kind of service. Sure, the property has its flaws, but so do FS (etc.) properties. Overall, it is clearly a five-star resort, and I highly recommend it. I will preface this with a slight disclaimer, however. My family and I stayed in the 2 bedroom Presidential Suite, which is the top suite on the property, and so the service we received may not be indicative of the service you will receive if you stay in a normal room. The property of the Zoetry is small, which is honestly better when you're staying at an all-inclusive, but clean and well kept. There is one main pool, of which the temperature varies with the air. However, there are no hot tubs, which I do enjoy and was frankly disappointed by. The beach is different from the pictures on the website as it is plagued by algae. However, they do their best to clean it, but it still isn't super pretty in color and has visible algae. Cancun itself has had problems with algae in the last few years, which is a shame. As I enjoy the beach, this came at a disappointment. My room was located in a separate building called Impressions, which only hosts top suites. Unless you stay in it, you are not allowed access, but the whole Impressions thing is worth it. The premise has a separate lounge and pool from the rest of the resort. Interestingly, it is missing a bar (maybe due to not enough guests in the building for a fully serviced one?) but has a separate restaurant for dinner that I believe only impressions guests can use. There was some construction taking place on the fourth floor, which may be for more facilities. Also, all Impressions guests get a package with various extra amenities (i.e. spa credit, private cooking lesson). Butler service is included, which I expected to be a scam, but was actually excellent. Our butlers were excellent, worked long hours, and very attentive. Isaac and Victor were good, but our favorite was the tall and lanky Omar, who is only a butler-in-training. If anything comes out of this review, hopefully management will see this as a sign to promote Omar to full butler. Our room was interestingly designed. The main bedroom was fine, but the second bedroom, well, bathroom, had some visible flaws. The toilet is behind the shower and there are no doors. Weirdly, there is a small terrace outside of the toilet, which means that construction workers on opposite buildings can have a full view of you. The shower gets cold after a few minutes, so manage your time. We had some small maintenance problems, but the employees always came quickly to fix it and they vanished with help. The advertised "petit fours" were really just jellies and strawberries and sort of disappointing. However, our pool and hot-tub were well kept, and the day beds always had towels. Housekeeping didn't replenish toiletries, which I found astounding for a five-star, and I had to call three or so times during the trip for more. If I were to give one overarching complaint, it would be that housekeeping doesn't pay attention to toiletry supply. However, while this may sound like a lot, most of it is very minor and easily fixable, so don't let it dissuade you. All hotels have problems. The staff as a whole are very nice and helpful people. Our favorites were Gabriel, an extremely attentive waiter, Francisco, and another tall guy at the breakfast who wore goggles, no idea what his name is. However, while they care a lot about dietary restrictions, they have a tough time managing it. My mother is a vegan, and they tried very hard to make eating a good experience for her, but brought non-vegan food on two separate occasions. After tasting it, she was able to alert the staff, but it just makes me question what will happen if someone has an allergy. Also, they don't give straws (green resort), so bring your own. Overall, the staff are helpful as they respond well to feedback and go out of their way to make your stay special, they really try with food, and the hotel is well serviced. Definitely recommend and I would come back. Read less

We arrived on March 26th-April 2nd, greeted with sanitary wipes and a smiling face! The resort was beautiful/immaculate. It was so clean that I felt safer there than going to the grocery store at home. We stayed in San Martin which was huge with amazing bathroom. There was a bottle of sealed Tequila with lime and salt waiting when we entered. The bottle was so pretty that I didn't want to open it. We were told that we had a bottle of sparking wine upon request. We had two balconies that over looked the ocean. The view was amazing, We could lay in bed and see the ocean. It was so close that it looked like we were floating on the water. Our pet peacock was a little vocal in the evenings/night but it did not bothered us in our room. House keeping and inroom bar service was superb. We ordered room service one night for dinner and dessert---it arrived earlier than expected and was delicious. One night we just ordered dessert and it arrived in less than 10 minutes. I am allergic to cilantro and so many menu items have cilantro in them and the servers made sure that I had plenty of options to chose from to eat. We didn't order anything that we did not like. Everything was served in gourmet portions and presentation! I had the fruit and french toast, pancakes, yogurt with granola, and of course bacon. My husband had the fresh from the farm eggs, bacon, and sausage. He also had something that was like steak and eggs. We never left any food on our plates. The pastries were delicious. We ate lunch at the restaurants that were open most days and had service at the pool. I must say the pizza's, and two different chicken dishes were my favorite! One day there was a burrito bar at the pool on top of the other choices. Service at the pool was excellent! I cannot say enough good things about all of our servers as well as bartenders. There were plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas at the pool as well as the beach. The beach was cleaned daily--sometimes more than one time. The water was a turquoise color the first few days and then it seemed a little cloudy from possibly storms out at sea. The wind blew enough that you never sweat or had to deal with bugs. The staff always had on goggles and masks. Guests wore masks to and from the restaurants. No one ever got within 10 feet of my husband and I except for staff. I'd go back tomorrow! Read less
