I did some serious relaxing at the BodyHoliday and I couldn't think of a better place for it. Every aspect of my stay was perfect! The staff are great, very helpful, attentive and they work incredibly hard. 2 members to mention are Deano who was a star at the daytime activities and Edwin who has incredible patience with his golfing clients. The food is great, the default restaurant is a la carte but you can go buffet style if you prefer. 2 other a la carte restaurants serve lovely food too. A couple of gripes this time around: there is now a charge for sushi in the TAO restaurant, previously it was included. This is an expensive holiday and so this penny pinching was disappointing; there are some maintenance issues around the resort which should be attended to. They are small matters but are making the resort seem a bit tatty (locks on washrooms broken, taps broken, shower in the hospitality suite not emptying). Read less

I'm just back from a week at the Body Holiday, and while there are many things they do very well, and I'll likely go back, my experience this time (I've been many times before) was disappointing in some ways. I'm just back from a week at the Body Holiday, and while there are many things they do very well, and I'll likely go back, my experience this time (I've been many times before) was disappointing in some ways. The good: the activities, the spa treatments, the food, the caring staff, and the beautiful location. The disappointing: I stayed in a garden view room on the 7th floor, and through the whole of my week the elevator from the 4th to 7th floors was out of service, with no hint of when it would be restored. Although I asked to be moved to a lower floor it never happened. When I wanted to have a shower it took 7-10 minutes for the water temperature to reach lukewarm. Running hot water at the sink took longer, maybe 15 minutes. When I tried the day after arriving to make a dinner reservation at Tao, one of their included a la carte restaurants, there were no times available earlier than 9 or 9:30 p.m. for the whole week I was there. I would add that using their website to pre-schedule treatments and activities is an awkward and unsatisfactory experience also, and although it states that they will respond to messages within 48 hours it is more like a week, after a reminder that you haven't heard from them. A week at the Body Holiday is expensive. I don't think it should be necessary to encounter such issues for the price they charge. Read less

This is a fabulous resort, probably the best one I’ve ever been to, but unlike so many other guests, I doubt I’ll ever return. First of all, I have to explain that this was a holiday of a lifetime for me, I don’t earn a lot of money, so being among so many people who can afford to visit several times a year, made me realise how little I have in common with the vast majority of other guests. I was travelling solo, and the bodyguards were, without exception, incredibly friendly and inclusive. I joined the communal table every night, which is a great way to meet people. The food was good and most of the other solo guests were very nice. The list of activities is amazing and diverse, it really doesn’t matter if you are solo, in a couple or or part of a group, you can do whatever you want to do. One night though, there was a barbecue on the beach and a fellow solo traveller said she would get me a drink. I waited in the same spot for 40 minutes before finally realising that she used it as an excuse to get rid of me, so I went to my room feeling quite sad and lonely. The following day, the female Indian doctor in the spa made a comment about me being on the larger side. I was quite taken aback as I’m a UK size 10-12, which I consider average. This comment, along with the incident the previous night, upset me, and I felt like I had made a huge mistake. I was almost in tears on several occasions that day and decided to have an early night as I started to dislike myself, which after booking such a famous wellness resort after a very stressful couple of years, was not the result I had anticipated. The following day, I had booked a tour of the island, and had an amazing time, and the rest of the holiday was fantastic. I have waited a while to write a review, and my experience was mainly positive, but recently I’ve been thinking a lot about being called ‘larger’ and being left by myself at the barbecue, so decided that despite having no regrets, I’m probably just not cool enough for The Bodyholiday. We booked this holiday without really researching the hotel and were astonished when we arrived. The staff, the facilities, the beach, the food were all exceptional. you could spend all day in treatment rooms or taking part in activities or you could just sit on the beach or by the pool and read a book, there was no pressure to do anything
