Jade Mountain

St Lucia, Caribbean

The hotel

Jade Mountain wins our vote as one of the Caribbean’s most mesmerising resorts. It doesn’t just offer accommodation it offers a sanctuary, or rather a collection of sanctuaries, in which to completely feel at one with your natural surrounds. It’s also the only resort with a view of both the Petit and Gros Piton mountains, making it an extra special choice for the discerning traveller. Connected by bridges, rooms literally float out onto platforms; a bedroom, a living area, the fourth wall dispensed with entirely and infinity pools strategically placed so you feel you are diving into the view. For sunset drinks with a difference, the Celestial Terrace feels just that — heavenly. Kickback with a cocktail and prepare for some serious stargazing. There’s also a wide range of indulgent spa treatments to be enjoyed and a fitness studio for enthusiasts. And, if the splendour at Jade Mountain isn’t enough, guests have access to all the facilities at sister resort, Anse Chastanet, including restaurants, bars and water sports on two soft sand beaches. Anse is easily accessible on foot or hop on-board the shuttle bus — if you can tear yourself away from paradise that is!

We honeymooned at Jade Mountain in Feb 2018, and it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. The resort is simply gorgeous! We stayed for 5 nights and spent another 5 at a different resort on the opposite end of the island so we could experience more of St Lucia. Our sanctuary (JA4) was beautiful and spacious. We did the all-inclusive romance package (book 4 nights and get the 5th for free). The first sanctuary we were shown was one level higher, but the bed was positioned very close to the open fourth wall and pool, and we were concerned it may be warmer, so we moved down one level to a room more toward the middle, which had a better layout for us and we felt had a better view. I was concerned it may be hot with no A/C, but it was actually very comfortable with so many fans. We loved the Non-alcoholic Bentley drinks, the service was outstanding, the spa was awesome — all things you’d expect from a luxury resort of this caliber. But the view of The Pitons was simply stunning, and we hope to visit again someday! Read less

Jade Mountain provides a secret hide-away in a hidden bungalow that connects one to to outdoors. There are three walled rooms with a soaking tub overlooking the beautiful bay and a picturesque view of the Pitons. The service was friendly and impeccable. we did have our personal butlers which made our stay more enjoyable. We felt cared for and attended to in most every way. The amenities are terrific as well. The food was amazing as well. The only issue is the last 2 mile road from the town to the resort. It is full of potholes, ruts and narrow passes. The legend is that it keeps people away from their resort and beaches, which are public. Beyond that, we loved Jade Mountain. Overall, this is a fantastic, artistic, architectural wonder that combines beauty, function and connection with the environment like no other. I would definitely return! Read less

Don't hesitate if you have a chance to stay at Jade Mountain. We can't believe it took us this long to stay, and you won't be disappointed, especially if you love being in the open air all the time. There's not much else to say that hasn't already been stated and we'll certainly be going back!
