The hotel

Jade Mountain is a resort that exudes luxury in all aspects. Every room is a sanctuary with a unique twist, there are only three walls. The absence of an external wall makes this resort special as it allows you to feel immersed in the magnificent panoramic view of the Pitons and Caribbean Sea. The sanctuary’s design blurs the line between indoor and outdoor, even your own private infinity pool will make you feel like you can reach out touch the scene before you, all while guaranteeing privacy. You will also have access to a personal butler, known as a Major Domo, who will be at your beck and call providing a personalised service. Jade Mountain promises perfection and an exclusive experience by bringing together nature and luxury without impacting the environment.

Positives - the view from the room, most of the employees, food and the food service, the cleaning crew, helicopter to resort, jungle bike ride, sailing, snorkeling, chocolate making, the in-suite pool. We booked a Moon room and they did upgrade us upon check-in to a Sun room. Negatives - The major domo (butler) is not a luxury but rather a necessity. Meal reservations, any of the additional experiences you need booked, issues with the room, etc., cannot be done by you and must be done by the butler. One of the butlers was awful and followed through with nothing we requested. No question but that significantly damaged the experience. Another butler was great and tried as hard as she could to overcome the terrible service by the other one. The room was supposed to be a sanctuary and we were looking forward to spending a couple of days in the room doing nothing but enjoying the open-air experience. The room was very hot and uncomfortable. The pool in our sun sanctuary became a necessity. A couple of additional ceiling fans would have made a huge difference. The hot tub did not work, and no attempt was made to fix it during our 6-night stay. The quantity of steps that you must climb as there is no elevator so if you are not in decent physical condition, I suggest that you find a different resort. Looking back, 3 nights would have been better than 6 nights. I would suggest staying at one of the many wonderful air-conditioned resorts on the island for any time longer than 3 nights. When we arrived home, I filled out their evaluation form and sent it to the owners that requested it. I asked for a call back, but their email stated they were away on a business trip but would get back to me when they returned. That was almost 6 weeks ago so I guess it must be a long business trip since there has been no call back. Read less

This review is a little late and I normally do not leave reviews, however I had to leave a review of this place. We travel quite frequently and I can honestly say that Jade Mountain will be very hard to beat going forward. We had the privilege of staying at Jade Mountain for 7 days in June. From arrival to departure we experienced above average service from the amazing team of Majordomo's at Jade Mountain as well as all their staff. We stayed in one of the open air sanctuary rooms that featured our own private pool and loungers and so much more. Room was quite large and had the most incredible view of the Piton Mountains. It was absolutely breath taking! At night the natural sounds of the birds and animals was so soothing. We had the breakfast and dinner plan and the food at the Jade Mountain club was incredible and I must say plenty. You left pretty full. The chef's here are very talented and there was not anything we had that we did not like. Service at the restaurant was also top notch and the servers were very warm and friendly. At breakfast I recommend trying their Jade Mountain volcanic egg which was delicious. The muffins and croissants were all freshly baked and the jams were all home made and so good. They have their own farm and grow most of their own vegetables and fruit so you are getting very fresh ingredients at all meals. Fresh fish for dinner and steaks was also available at each meal among other delicacies. There are 2 beaches down below which is shared with their sister resort Anse Chastanet. Guests at Jade Mountain can also use any of the restaurants and amenities at this resort as well. You can either walk down to the beach or take a shuttle. We chose to walk so we could burn all those extra calories however a shuttle was available if we wanted. The beach was beautiful and very clean and the service at the beach was also top notch. On our last day we chose to stay in our room to enjoy the views of the Pitons as well as the beauty of our amazing open air room. All in all I have nothing negative at all to say about Jade Mountain except going forward other resorts will seem below average after this stay. A special thank you to all the staff and management at Jade Mountain for an incredible stay. I will definitely be coming back in the future. Read less

My husband surprised me with the most amazing 8th anniversary trip ever at Jade Mountain! We have traveled a lot of places, and this by far exceeded our expectations in every category. The service was amazing and everyone was so warm and welcoming and happy to meet our needs. I want to give a special shout out to Filli and Teclus for being the most amazing butlers! Soon after arriving while exploring the resort, Ned greeted us and offered to take a mini impromptu photo shoot, which was amazing. The room (JB2) had the most stunning views of both the piton mountains and the Caribbean sea! It was so picturesque it didn't look real! The excursion to the drive through volcano, mud bath, and botanical gardens was fantastic. We were so happy to be without TVs for the entire 6 days and didn't miss anything. It would have been a distraction from the natural beauty and architecture of this place. Now the food! This was fit for the most seasoned foodies. It was by far the best culinary experience compared to any resort we have been to. The combination of flavors was brilliant. I also enjoyed my personal yoga session with Nelson! Also he bartenders and waitors are skilled, knowledgeable, and personable! Biggg shout out to Kirk, Ned and Junior! Read less

This is the most honest and truthful review of Jade you will find. I booked a surprise trip for my wife and I to celebrate our 14th anniversary. We haven’t truly celebrated it in almost 10 years, so I wanted it to be very special. I wanted to take her somewhere we have never been, so Jade Mountain was the chosen place. We reached Jade via helicopter, and it was breathtaking. The mountain view from our room was something straight out of a magazine. The staff service at Jade was beyond excellent and I must give my butlers (Keran and AL) a special shout out for making our anniversary so special. I also want to say how wonderful our in-room couples massage my wife and I had from Emily and Sherwin was. It was soothing, relaxing, full of laughter and good energy. Everything you read about Jade is exactly what you expect except only half the story is told. So here is the other half. 1) If you are looking for peace and quiet, to do a lot of yoga and meditation for your entire trip, then Jade is the right place for you. However, if you would like your resort to be a little lively in the evenings then you should choose another resort. 2) If you are looking to eat vegan and a lot of healthy, non-seasoned food then Jade is the place for you. However, if you want to taste local St. Lucian food with seasoning and flavor then Jade is not the place for you unless you plant to eat at the restaurant on the beach and order their Butter Chicken or Ribs. 3) If you enjoy driving on smooth paved roads, then I would suggest you bring motion sickness pills with you because you will need them when you drive from the airport to Jade. The last ten minutes before you get to the resort are the worse roads I have ever been on. You literally feel like you are on a boat with ruff water throwing you from side to side. 4) Do not go to the diamond waterfalls as it is not worth the price the resort charge as you cannot go in the water and the waterfall itself has nothing to write home about. Instead go to the Toute Waterfalls. The Mineral Bath was okay but again nothing special. 5) If you choose to go to the Botanical Garden, ask for a tour guide named Alexander The Great. He was very knowledgeable and spent his time giving us the history of the garden. We wanted to taste some coconut juice fresh from the coconut and when we were in the Mineral Bath he went in the garden and found two coconuts for us. 6) The Mud Bath is worth it and so is the Sulphur Springs and the Saus Waterfall Trail 7) My suggestion is to book Simon Says tour guide for the best bang for your money. He will take you by boat to the Toute, Saus Waterfalls and to the Mud Bath for half of what the resorts charge. It will take you about 5 minutes to get to town where a van will pick you up and his son Simon Jr will be your tour guide. At the end of the excursions, you will be taken to his wife’s restaurant where you will have some delicious Real St. Lucian food. I am recommending Simon Says because you save money, save time by going by boat, avoid being sick by driving on the horrible roads, and you get more bang for your money. Read less

If you are looking for an amazing getaway, with views straight from a Hollywood film, jaw dropping rooms, 5-star cuisine nightly and personal staff that is the most friendly and attentive...look no further!! My wife and I commented several times a day how friendly and accommodating the entire staff is, from the Major Domo's, housekeeping, to the maintenance workers, etc. anyone you came into contact with would greet you with a smile and hello, have a great day/evening. All of the resort food is delicious, especially the 5-star, 4 course cuisine from the Jade Club. This is not some corporate property, you feel like you are truly part of a family. The owner's (Mr. and Mrs. Troubetzkoy are accessible and their love and passion for their magnificent resort is evident! My wife and I will be visiting Jade Mountain for the rest of our lives, outstanding experience! Read less
