The hotel

Jade Mountain is a resort that exudes luxury in all aspects. Every room is a sanctuary with a unique twist, there are only three walls. The absence of an external wall makes this resort special as it allows you to feel immersed in the magnificent panoramic view of the Pitons and Caribbean Sea. The sanctuary’s design blurs the line between indoor and outdoor, even your own private infinity pool will make you feel like you can reach out touch the scene before you, all while guaranteeing privacy. You will also have access to a personal butler, known as a Major Domo, who will be at your beck and call providing a personalised service. Jade Mountain promises perfection and an exclusive experience by bringing together nature and luxury without impacting the environment.

We stayed 4 nights at Jade Mountain and 5 nights at Sugar Beach. Due to Hurricane Beryl, we spent an additional night at Sugar Beach before transferring to Jade Mountain. If you're deciding between the two, I'd recommend Sugar Beach. If doing both, stay a maximum of 2 nights at Jade Mountain first before transferring to Sugar Beach. Pros: Food: Exceptional 5-star meals. They even cooked tuna we caught and turned it into a thoughtful 3-course meal. Views: Stunning. In-Room Massages: Highly relaxing and professional. Cons: Outdated Facilities: The resort, built in 2006, seems to have had no updates since then and feels tired. It doesn’t feel like a 5-star experience. Beware: the rooms are hot without AC. Outdated Boutiques: The boutiques were not selling merchandise reflective of a 5 star resort. Service Issues: Post-hurricane, Sugar Beach staff operated seamlessly, while Jade Mountain struggled. We arrived an hour before check-in and were told our room would take longer to setup due to the hurricane, which was understandable. However, we were left unattended at the Jade Mountain Club for 2 hours and had to seek out staff to get updates. Our butler introduced us with several paper forms to sign, a process that could have been handled digitally beforehand. We were given a bottle of Veuve Clicquot as an apology, but a resort credit would have been more appreciated. Checkout Confusion: Despite confirming our 10 am pickup time multiple times, the process was disorganized. No one came to settle the bill at the agreed time, leading to delays and additional paperwork. They put the wrong guests in our shuttle, who then had to switch with us. Transportation: The shuttles that take you around the property are cramped and in poor condition. The Troubetzkys need to invest financially in the property and place higher expectations on upper management to train staff in delivering a true 5-star experience. Jade Mountain has great potential but falls short in several areas compared to Sugar Beach. Read less

My wife took a delayed 25 year anniversary trip to the Jade Mt Resort. Since we were sans kids we decided to go all in. The Sky Sanctuary was booked with a helicopter ride to and from the resort. Arrival at the airport was hot, and technical difficulties led to a delay in the helicopter ride. So we opted to take a car with AC. It was hot and humid. Those arriving, there is no need to have a porter take your bags 15 feet outside the gate. Be aware. Despite not flying, the ride to the resort was interesting. The resort staff made sure our arrival was commensurate with the expectations of a getaway. We were initially overwhelmed with the reception after the long trip. But the room was everything that was expected. Wonderful view, wonderful amenities. We were able to relax, enjoy the views, and renew our relationship. The resort is on the mountain but shuttle service is available upon request. We were given a personal phone if we needed anything at anytime. My wife and I couldn't have been happier. The ride back on the helicopter capped off a good trip. I would recommend. Read less

Jade Mountain is a dream honeymoon destination. Cannot recommend them enough. By far the most accommodating stay we have ever had. The service, staff, and location were all incredible. The beach is beautiful and peaceful! There are plenty of activities to keep yourselves busy as well.

And if you have a serious personal problem e.g. illness ,support is brilliant. In a lovely position on the island ,overlooking the Pitons, the Sanctuary rooms are open and delightful for relaxation .No windows, but protection from bugs is thorough with nets around the bed, coils, and spray ,so you can enjoy proximity to nature safely. The birds are wonderful and welcoming. Beach is easily accessible with great swimming and snorkelling ,and great boat trips to see whales and dolphins. Read less

Long overdue review, but much needed. This place was the sanctuary I didn’t know I needed until I was immersed in it. Long overdue review, but much needed. This place was the sanctuary I didn’t know I needed until I was immersed in it. My husband was a little unsure of the open concept of the open room to the outdoors, no air conditioning (there are fans, which were plenty to keep us cool), and no television. It admittedly took a few hours up to the first day to even adjust. But once we did, we didn’t want to leave. It was so peaceful and serene and you are forced to disconnect from all that live tells us is important. Instead, we focused on calm tranquility in nature. Yes, there are mosquitoes, but there is a net to the bed, which I was surprised worked so well. Also, there is plentiful natural smelling bug spray and they light a mosquito coil in the evening. Which brings me to my next point, the customer service is impeccable. We had a private cell phone that we could phone directly to our butler. You could order any room service to include drinks via an iPad in the room (the only electronic we saw). The staff were so helpful throughout the entire experience! The room is breathtaking. We booked a room with a pool in the room and I highly recommend that upgrade. We were able to watch hummingbirds from our pool and had a fantastic view. The beach is a close walk and ample chairs available. The restaurant has delicious food. I have nothing, but good things to say about our stay at Jade Mountain. I’d love to return!! Read less
