Jade Mountain

St Lucia, Caribbean

The hotel

Jade Mountain wins our vote as one of the Caribbean’s most mesmerising resorts. It doesn’t just offer accommodation it offers a sanctuary, or rather a collection of sanctuaries, in which to completely feel at one with your natural surrounds. It’s also the only resort with a view of both the Petit and Gros Piton mountains, making it an extra special choice for the discerning traveller. Connected by bridges, rooms literally float out onto platforms; a bedroom, a living area, the fourth wall dispensed with entirely and infinity pools strategically placed so you feel you are diving into the view. For sunset drinks with a difference, the Celestial Terrace feels just that — heavenly. Kickback with a cocktail and prepare for some serious stargazing. There’s also a wide range of indulgent spa treatments to be enjoyed and a fitness studio for enthusiasts. And, if the splendour at Jade Mountain isn’t enough, guests have access to all the facilities at sister resort, Anse Chastanet, including restaurants, bars and water sports on two soft sand beaches. Anse is easily accessible on foot or hop on-board the shuttle bus — if you can tear yourself away from paradise that is!

My husband and I stayed at Jade Mountain for our honeymoon. It is truly a magical place. We were extremely fortunate to receive room upgrade upon check-in, and the sanctuary was incredible. The views of the Pitons are breathtaking and you really feel like you are one with nature. It is so peaceful, you feel like you are the only ones there. We really valued the privacy that this resort provided. We enjoyed our time at the beach, which had great service, our lounge chairs were set up for us and there was constant food and beverage service. The snorkeling off the beach area is fantastic and snorkel gear is provided without charge. The food was excellent, from dinner at the Jade Club and room service menu to burgers on the beach. The only complaint that my husband and I had was regarding the Major Domo service. Our Major Domo was very welcoming and helpful when we first arrived, but did little after checking us in. He offered to escort us to dinner the first night we arrived, but forgot about us until we called him twenty minutes after the reservation. We also felt as if they did not check in on us during our time there. They were merely there only if we needed something and called them. Having experienced butler service before, I admit that our expectations were high. However, we were disappointed that the butler service was sub par at such highly regarded resort. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Jade Mountain and plan on returning in the future. I recommend this resort for couples who are looking for a quiet, romantic getaway. Read less

Everything is wonderfull! The staff and our butlers, the room (emerald room), the view, the beach, the snorkeling, the food (only a bit too much salty for us), the experience in general. We recommend it without any hesitation! We will be back!

Honestly this resort is more than just a resort. It is an unbelievable piece of heaven on this Earth. I was lucky enough to get engaged at the celestial terrace with a beautiful set up & surprise dinner under the stars. My fiancée had told me this was a surprise birthday trip. As we approached the resort up & down the windy roads of St Lucia I knew it was going to be special. I don’t think I was ready for HOW special it was. The driver was amazing, told us all the history of the views we were driving by. He really started the trip on the right foot. Once we reached the private road, everyone is correct that it is unpaved but I didn’t find it that bumpy. You have to remember, the resort wants to keep the locals at bay and this is a preventative method. We were greeted with a refreshing drink with a sugar cane & grenadine. The first impression as you walk into the resort area is WOWOW, is this even real life?!? My fiancée compared it to Jurassic Park meets paradise! We felt seen, heard & appreciates thru out our stay. Our major domos were Jameel, Vincent & Chrustis who all had a special part to play in our stay. We opted to have breakfast in our room every morning & it was brought accurately & promptly. Everything was wrapped in plastic to prevent the birds from snacking. It was actually entertaining seeing the birds fly freely in & out of the rooms. My fiancé has trouble sleeping if it’s too warm, this was not a problem. The cool ocean breeze would come into the room during the night. To be honest, we enjoyed spending time in our sanctuary as the infinity pool was amazing!! We did a tour of their organic farm which I would recommend because I learned a lot & tasted fruits like soursop. All of the vegetation at the resort comes from here. We also went to the volcanic sulphur springs which were also very informative and cool to see. We did the Jazzy cruise which was a TON of fun! Met some really cool people, danced, drank & watched dolphins which was an unreal sight. Lawerence was our server for our special night at Jade Mountain Club & he was awesome. He was so happy to be apart of our special moment. We had time to talk to him & connect on a human level. He made our night even more special. Thank you Lawerence! I would highly recommend going to Anse Mamin beach. It’s quieter and they have their own grill on the beach. This is where my fiancée & I experienced THE BEST burger ever! We talk about it til this day. The jungle burger was sooo delicious and banana ketchup, yum! I also got the jerk chicken & coleslaw, which was also very tasty. We ate most dinners at Jade Mountain Club apart from Apsara the night they had a beach party. I would have to say this was the most disappointing meal. The meat was more underdone than I would personally prefer. Before leaving we tried Apsara again for lunch & it was much better! Even took some of the sharwarma to go for the plane!! Jade Mountain Club was always on point! We had an all inclusive meal plan so 3 course dinners every night? Yes please!! Enjoyed some amazing beef braised short rib, pasta, seafood etc here. All in all, I would LOVE to come back to Jade. The standard has been set very high now when it comes to service & quality. This is why they deserve even more than a 5 star review!! Read less

Jade mountains lived up to our very high expectations after reading so many wonderful reviews. Property is spectacular with very unique architecture, gorgeous views and huge suites with the most romantic pools. No A/C was not big issue for us as fans and breeze in room make it comfortable at night. Waking up to sunrise and birds chirping was interesting and unusual in good way. Farm and chocolate tour with Peter Gabriel was informative and fun. Cooking class with view of Pitons in background resulted in delicious lunch with the fresh produce we had just seen in farm tour! Jungle biking and hiking trails are also beautiful. Beach nice and restaurants all delicious! Service was great and very attentive. The views are just spectacular from everywhere and the sunrise, sunsets and stargazing at night are something we will never forget. Resort has many steps so not for everyone and the spa was ok but unfortunately has no views. Read less
