Jade Mountain

St Lucia, Caribbean

The hotel

Jade Mountain wins our vote as one of the Caribbean’s most mesmerising resorts. It doesn’t just offer accommodation it offers a sanctuary, or rather a collection of sanctuaries, in which to completely feel at one with your natural surrounds. It’s also the only resort with a view of both the Petit and Gros Piton mountains, making it an extra special choice for the discerning traveller. Connected by bridges, rooms literally float out onto platforms; a bedroom, a living area, the fourth wall dispensed with entirely and infinity pools strategically placed so you feel you are diving into the view. For sunset drinks with a difference, the Celestial Terrace feels just that — heavenly. Kickback with a cocktail and prepare for some serious stargazing. There’s also a wide range of indulgent spa treatments to be enjoyed and a fitness studio for enthusiasts. And, if the splendour at Jade Mountain isn’t enough, guests have access to all the facilities at sister resort, Anse Chastanet, including restaurants, bars and water sports on two soft sand beaches. Anse is easily accessible on foot or hop on-board the shuttle bus — if you can tear yourself away from paradise that is!

Growing up, my parent resisted getting a vacation place b/c, they said, it locked you in to always having to go there. As a reasonably well traveled adult, I get that: variety is the spice of life, right? Well, that officially stops here. We are already making plans to come back next year, and we have never done that before. Amazing food,… Read more

As a reasonably well traveled adult, I get that: variety is the spice of life, right? Well, that officially stops here. We are already making plans to come back next year, and we have never done that before. Amazing food, service, environment, accommodations. Santorini is the only place that comes close, and this is muuuuuch easier to get to. If you can, its worth getting the in-room infinity pool. Special. Every restaurant was great, hiking in the rain forest was great, the snorkling was unusually good (just off the coast). Boats do come from other places to snorkel, so you might want to plan around that, but its 5 stars all around. Read less

We stayed at this very striking hotel for 9 nights. Nothing prepares one for the stunning views of the beautiful coastline and Pitons which all rooms plus the top floor restaurant and terrace offer the visitor. Architecturally Jade Mountain is a tremendous achievement. Our room was unusual in that it had large windows and air con as opposed to the open-to-the-elements feature of other rooms. It was very spacious, on two levels, attractively furnished. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was faultless. A very welcome feature is the bento box of delicious snacks which one finds each afternoon in the fridge. Staff were without exception very friendly and helpful. Jade Mountain has a fine restaurant with the aforementioned superlative views. Guests are also welcome to use the facilities of the charming sister hotel Anse Chastenet which is located below Jade Mountain; these include an attractive beachside bar and restaurant which are also open in the evening. The beach itself is a good size and well equipped with parasols and loungers; food and drink is available until late afternoon. Another beach at Anse Mamin is a short walk away and is a real delight. I can also recommend the guided walk through the old plantation behind this beach. We particularly enjoyed the excellent snorkelling, either very close to the beach or on a guided excursion close to the Pitons. In fact a large number of activities are on offer. In short Jade Mountain is an excellent establishment and its location is the icing on the cake. Read less

Excellent service! Buffet style all night long, nice melodies in the background. It was a blast! Most meats are prepared right there on the beach in full view. The staff are extremely pleasant adding to this over the mountain experience. I would definitely go again

The service was a bt slow, only at breakfast time but again everything is so spectacular you don't really mind. Read less

My wife and I cannot imagine a better place, although there are several rooms “better” than ours. Dining at Jade Mountain club is somewhat memorable. Butlers are attentive, that is where the strong marks end. If you want to be a 5* hotel, everything you offer should be 5 star. If a vendor doesn’t cut it, don’t use them. If a shuttle driver is rude, get rid of them. If you are planning your honeymoon and expect your wife to feel like a queen, maybe choose somewhere else. Read less
