Jade Mountain

St Lucia, Caribbean

The hotel

Jade Mountain wins our vote as one of the Caribbean’s most mesmerising resorts. It doesn’t just offer accommodation it offers a sanctuary, or rather a collection of sanctuaries, in which to completely feel at one with your natural surrounds. It’s also the only resort with a view of both the Petit and Gros Piton mountains, making it an extra special choice for the discerning traveller. Connected by bridges, rooms literally float out onto platforms; a bedroom, a living area, the fourth wall dispensed with entirely and infinity pools strategically placed so you feel you are diving into the view. For sunset drinks with a difference, the Celestial Terrace feels just that — heavenly. Kickback with a cocktail and prepare for some serious stargazing. There’s also a wide range of indulgent spa treatments to be enjoyed and a fitness studio for enthusiasts. And, if the splendour at Jade Mountain isn’t enough, guests have access to all the facilities at sister resort, Anse Chastanet, including restaurants, bars and water sports on two soft sand beaches. Anse is easily accessible on foot or hop on-board the shuttle bus — if you can tear yourself away from paradise that is!

I don’t think Jade Mountain will ever be beaten by another resort. We visited 4 hotels across St Lucia and The Grenadines and were totally blown away the second we arrived. Everyone at Jade strives to make your experience like no other. You are met at the undercover car pool then taken to the restaurant for refreshments or to wait for your room and the view just takes your breath away. One of our Duomos met us here and took us to the sanctuary, this is one of few times I have been so shocked in a good way, it was stunning. We stayed in JB3 and I don’t know why we would want larger the view was amazing and the room incredible. The rooms are a little dark where there isn’t too much light and there is no air con but that is all because Jade tries not to use too much energy and we loved that. Why have air con with no wall. We did the all inclusive package and put on so much weight! The food and drinks are amazing at Jade club it’s hard not to eat a 3 course lunch and 4 course dinner. Breakfast is lovely too, a lot of people have this in their room but we preferred this in the restaurant. You get a fully stocked fridge and little treats left every day it’s such a nice touch! We eat at anse mamin which was nice and the anse chasenet beach restaurant which was hit or miss but jade club was the best for us. The facilities at Jade are perfect, lovely spa, smallish gym, the beach at Anse is lovely it’s a good walk down and up but you can use the shuttle and the snorkelling is the best we experienced on the island. The service was amazing, we did tip a lot throughout the trip which I am still happy about. Get cash before you get there unless you plan on going to soufriere as that’s the nearest cash point (Jade does cash back but charges 10% service). Book your tables on your first day as the good times go fast. The Duomos are great, they want to make your trip perfect. We didn’t use them as much as others do but we’re not really like that but you can use them as much/little as you like. We did the Emerald farm trip and this was one of the best excursions of our trip so I would definitely recommend that Make the most of your trip here and do everything Jade offers! We can’t wait to go again! Read less

Breathtaking views, good food and first class staff and service. The restaurant view from the roof top, should be in the next James Bond film. Easily one of the most majestic, breathtaking views on the planet. The private beaches, again, breath taking, magical, something out of a movie. The one complaint I have where all the bugs, given the open air concept, which I like, but the bugs are something to consider. If you do not like bugs or have an phobia of bugs, this might not be the place for you. Or you might need to reserve a higher floor away from the jungle canape. Or request some sort of countermeasure for your stay(additional insect repellent etc.) Also, the lower level units are rather loud, with all the insect chirping at night. It takes a bit of getting used to.I myself was fine, but if you are slight sleeper, some also to consider. And the open air concept, while very cool and inviting, can be hot during the summer months. I was just there(June 2019) and it was hot in the room while trying to sleep. Anyway, some these a reason why the prices vary some much from in Season to Off Season. Heat goes up. Bugs go up. Open air unit etc. Not the same experience as December-March experience. In summary, this place is a top drawer Eco-Resort with one of the best vantage points you will see anywhere in the world! HANDS DOWN. The view alone is worth coming to Jade Mountain Resort and that is no joke! Game Changer view. One more thing, the General Manager of this property Andreas, he is top drawer, very accommodating, great instincts and the consummate professional. Read less

If you’re wondering if this trip will be worth the $, stop wondering…it is! We did the yin yang package and so it was really the best of both worlds. Check out my other review for Anse Chastanet where we spent the first 3 nights. We were upgraded to a Sun sanctuary for our 4 nights at Jade. We had JE3. Check out the pics (although it’s impossible to do it justice on camera). When you enter the room prepare to be awe struck and rendered speechless. The view of the pitons is incredible and the room is beautiful. We barely left our sanctuary the entire time! The pool in the sanctuary is huge (and deep). You can do laps! The bathroom area (it’s all open plan) has a hot tub that you can gaze at the Pitons from. The bed is super comfortable and we slept more soundly than we do at home. Temperature was perfect and the sounds of the birds were not bothersome in the least. We didn’t hear any other guests the entire time, so tranquil. (They do provide eye masks and ear plugs). If I had to nitpick, the only downsides were that JE3 doesn’t get sun after late morning – as sun worshippers this was a bit of a bummer. Also, the bathroom gets very warm in the early evening as you’re getting ready for dinner it gets a bit humid and sticky. These are 2 minor gripes on what was a dream vacation. Our major domos (butlers) were terrific. The service is amazing. Thank you Christus, Al and Ain! Every day they bring an afternoon snack in a Bento box. Delicious! Yes, the food – excellent. Breakfast via room service was amazing. Perfectly cooked eggs benedict delivered to our sanctuary and wonderful cocktails. I definitely recommend the AI package so you aren’t worried about the expense. And Christus even went and got us Tums when requested! The jungle biking is really fun and informative thanks to our guide, “Bike Tyson”! It’s great as he shows you around the trails for 30ish mins and then you can spend as much time as you like exploring on your own. It is so relaxing and such an otherworldly dream-like experience. The architectural design is so thoughtful. I couldn’t recommend it more and can’t wait to go back! Read less
