We stayed at Ladera as part of the Peak-to-Beach package for our honeymoon in May 2024. We did the package in reverse and started at the beach (Cap Maison) and ended at the peak (Ladera). We had really high hopes for Ladera, but we had such an incredible experience at Cap Maison with really amazing staff that unfortunately Ladera just didn't live up to it. The room was beautiful and the views you get of the Pitons are unparalleled. We were there during one of the hottest weeks of recent years so not having AC was extremely challenging. The hotel did provide us with a standing fan upon check in and we ended up asking for a second one which they did give us. We were very worried about mosquitos but the netting around the bed was fantastic and the staff lights citronella candles at turn-down. We got more bites at Cap Maison than we did at Ladera. We stayed in a Heritage Suite and loved the swinging chairs in the pool. The pool itself was quite chilly, even when it was so hot outside. The pool guy did ask us if we wanted the heat turned up, which we said yes to but it never really got warmer. The staff was not very outwardly friendly. When we would ask for help or to book a tour, it seemed like we were bothering them. Service was also very slow, both in the restaurant and at the pool. Service on the island is generally slow, but Ladera's was something else. We were at the main pool for 3+ hours one day and someone came by once to ask for drink orders. You are supposed to be able to order food and lunch at the pool but that was just not possible with the service. We ended up going up to the bar in the restaurant to order but even that seemed like we were annoying staff. We felt so special at Cap Maison - they would write sweet messages on desserts and wished us a happy honeymoon every time they saw us. Ladera did not do any of that to make us feel special despite them knowing we were on our honeymoon. The restaurant is just ok. I don't think the all-inclusive package is worth it because the food will get old and there are a lot of other options near by so you can go off property. I am also gluten free and the staff didn't seem to know what could be made gluten free. I asked what my options were at lunch once and the waitress told me I could get the grilled fish of the day or the grilled vegetables. Two options for what we were paying was incredibly disappointing. We spoke to the front desk after and they seemed surprised that options were so limited, so I think the restaurant offers more but the staff just isn't knowledgable. We did do the wine cellar dinner with a premium wine tasting and that was fantastic. Jeremy was incredible and we really enjoyed that experience and would highly recommend to anyone celebrating something special. One big benefit of Ladera is the location. You are 5-10 minutes from the Sulphur Springs and Mud Baths experience. We also did a sunset sail where we saw 20+ dolphins who swam with our boat for nearly 20 minutes. The hike on property was challenging but rewarding with beautiful views. I'm not sure if it's just because we were there right after peak season ended, but the lounge/bar area was dead at night. Ladera would have live music every night, but it seemed the band or musician was playing to no one. Overall, the open-air concept ended up not being for us. We are glad we tried it but we don't think we'd do it again. I think we'd have a better opinion if the staff had made it a better experience. Read less

First of all a thank you for putting a bottle of champagne and a plate of chocolate dipped fruit in our suite to acknowledge my wife’s and my birthday on the same day. Also the view from our Rainbow Suite #A2 was absolutely perfect as it is from the breakfast and dinner restaurants. We do have a few suggestions however and hope you will take them in the spirit in which they are intended - as constructive criticism to make Ladera even better. The first is something that doesn’t cost anyone a penny but makes a huge difference - train your restaurant servers to smile -it’s the very basis of hospitality. Frankly they made us feel as though we were disturbing them being there. While on the restaurant you might like to upgrade your jams at breakfast, which come in tiny portions and have the consistency of baby food. Now on to the suite - having one side open is an “interesting “ feature, but in such a hot, humid climate you need more floor fans and on both levels - ours was a two story suite, plus on our sole floor fan both the speed and oscillating buttons were broken. We did, as always, love having our private plunge pool and in the oppressive humidity used it a lot. By the way you need to fix the plug in the bathroom sink which goes down but doesn’t come back up and the hot and cold taps are reversed. The maintenance man came but could not fix it. These may sound like trivial things but at $1200 a night they should not occur. Read less

Mini bar is NOT restocked as advertised. Only 2 piton per day! We stayed a Sandals prior to coming to Ladera for 2 days reason we booked was for the views. 2 nights cost an $2700 knowing the mini bar was restocked as advertised. We pretty much paid for the “view” which was amazing. After my husband finished the “2 beers” in the fridge we ask for more to be restocked. They said only 2 per day limit. If I knew (as I did extensive research) I would of stopped by the store coming from Sandals to stock. Instead on top of the 2700/2 nights. You pay $6/beer not including tax and tips! Felt the resort should specify what they really offer for the mini bar. I even asked if the fridge run out of water do we pay for it as well? Other than that everyone was really nice. Once in a life time experience is enough but Will not be come back to get my arm and leg chopped off again note to management please specify 2 beer limit on your website. Read less

Unbelievably epic experience!! Our open air room was a serene sanctuary, with extraordinary views of the Pitons with our own private plunge pool. Daily breakfast was included at the Dasheen restaurant and we enjoyed their nightly dinner as well. The dinner menu changes nightly and consistently offered a savory culinary experience!! The seafood pasta was outstanding!! The resort offers a scenic hike through their beautifully maintained tropical landscape that is not to be missed!! The views at the top were breathtaking, and we were treated to a spectacular rainbow across the pitons!! We were in awe of the tree house!! The resort is currently building what looks to be an epic spa sanctuary with a pool and sauna. They currently offer in room massages until the new spa is up and running. As amazing as our room, scenic views, and culinary experiences were, it was the staff that set this resort apart from any other resort we have traveled to in the past 10 years! The staff at Ladera provide an atmosphere that is both welcoming and warm. The staff's commitment to personalized care and friendly service was demonstrated by every staff member that we encountered, each person knew our name and recalled personal details about us. Lee, the hostess at the Dasheen restaurant, greeted us each morning with her bright smile and genuinely warm welcome and took time to talk with us each day. Our stay included Mother’s Day. Lee worked every day during our 6 day vacation including on Mother’s Day. She was always extremely professional, warm, engaging and genuinely excited to spend her day with her guests and the connection that she made with us will stay in our hearts!! Jovana, Jennifer, and Mariska, the Dasheen wait staff, greeted us with their lovely bright smiles each day! Mariska asked the Country band to play our Wedding song “I cross my heart” for our 3rd Wedding Anniversary that we celebrated at the resort, and I saw the manager confer with the singer to let him know our names so that when the song ended he addressed us by our names and congratulated us on our Anniversary, such an amazing personalized touch!! Sherin welcomed us to the resort with a warm smile, a refreshing mint infused towel, and a delicious welcome cocktail!! She remembered our names and asked about our day and how our trip was going each time we saw her during our stay. Ladera is a once in a lifetime experience!! A friend of mine still recalls his honeymoon experience at Ladera 22 years ago!! There are many different resort options in St. Lucia from Sandals to 5 star Viceroy accommodations but only one resort that uniquely captured our hearts forever and that is Ladera Resort!!! Do not miss out on the Ladera experience!! Read less
