Wow! I just returned from a 4-day stay at Ladera and I have high praise to share. The staff here are friendly and top notch in their attention to detail. Wow! I just returned from a 4-day stay at Ladera and I have high praise to share. The staff here are friendly and top notch in their attention to detail. From check in (Yvette and team), to groundskeepers (Mr. V and Tali) to my butlers (Stedley, Devonte, Darrel) to the gift shop staff (Cindy) everyone — and I mean everyone — made me feel at ease, at home, and in the presence of a caring longtime friend. The views are here unparalleled. I had considered Jade Mountain, but settled on Ladera given its front-row seat views of the Pitons coupled with its en-suite pool. (The Paradise Ridge rooms are 10 out of 10 beautiful and the pictures simply don't do it justice.) I was able to hike the on-site nature trail as well, another very nice feature of Ladera. I also loved the proximity of Ladera to other attractions. One day, I was able to take a taxi down to Sugar Beach where I set down a towel onto the white sand and later negotiated with a few locals on the beach to take me snorkeling over to an area near Jade Mountain and taste some local food. Another day, a taxi took me to Toraille, a beautiful waterfall that empties into an area you can wade around in. Hotel Chocolat is across the street, and, one night I sauntered over to taste their yummy chocolate, cocktails, and food. To that end, food is Ladera's weak spot, surprisingly. I recall other reviewers panned (pardon the pun) the quality of Ladera's food and, apart from its sumptuous breakfast offerings (try their bakes and saltfish!) lunch and dinner on numerous nights were largely underwhelming with lack of seasoning or portions being off. Cocktails were inconsistent. A repeat order revealed sometimes the bartender didn't put enough sugar. Other times just right. I think Ladera would do well with hiring a culinary director who can come in and elevate Ladera's offerings to that of Hotel Chocolate's or, deservedly, even higher. With such outstanding service, breathtaking views and amenities, it is lost on me how the food can miss the mark two-thirds of the day. For this, I drop a star. But, no love lost here. Ladera is an incredible gem, and not to be missed. Read less

once in a lifetime experience! Rooms were unique and resort workers were above and beyond. We went for our honeymoon in October and will definitely be back for an anniversary trip. Food at dasheen was amazing, clean and fresh. Only downside is it’s a drive from the beach but the views make up for it!

Everyone was polite but friendly. We were regularly asked if there was anything they could do for us. They met every request with a smile and promptly delivered on it. People would often go out of their way to meet our requests or observations. I asked what a specific plant was and they sent the gardener to tell me! I would like to name a few people who were especially helpful. They are Yvette, Iysa, Sherin, Vilma and Davy. I apologize to those whose names I’ve forgotten. Read less

My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Ladera Resort. It was a wonderful getaway if you are looking to relax and have privacy. The open air concept bedroom was wonderful! You felt you were one with nature yet staying in luxury. The temperatures were hot in June (not going to lie) but sleeping was still comfortable at night with all the fans they provided plus the natural breeze coming through the room. The Dasheene restaurant provided a wonderful dining experience and the food was delicious. All of the employees were extremely friendly and helpful especially the check in desk with helping us with tours. We kept changing our minds and they did not seem put out at all. I highly recommend this resort and hope to make a return trip in the future! Read less

This resort was a dream. The views and the privacy were everything that we wanted in a couples vacation. We were at first not sure about the open air concept, but it proved to be beautiful. This resort was a dream. The views and the privacy were everything that we wanted in a couples vacation. We were at first not sure about the open air concept, but it proved to be beautiful. We didn't have a problem with bugs or climate and waking up to the view of the Pitons every morning from our bed was exquisite. The staff was also amazing. We had quite a few changes in our schedule and they moved things around for us and even opened the bar on a Sunday just for us so that we were able to do a rum tasting on my birthday. We did a hike to the treehouse on the site and it was so peaceful. The gym is also really great with a pilates room, weight room and cardio room. The private pool in the room was amazing and the breakfast served to the room was delicious each day. We went down to visit Sugar Beach on the shuttle and although the beach is lovely, I am glad that we stayed at the Ladera because it is much more peaceful and quiet than the beach resort. We also did an evening sunset sail with snorkeling that was great. I did not want to leave. Highly recommend this resort to anyone going to St. Lucia. Read less
