Amazing holiday at Stolentime, felt like we’d walked into a tropical paradise after the long flight and journey from the airport. Staff were so friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Felt like they were on holiday alongside you, they all appeared to get on so well and joined in with our dancing at night. Food selection and resort restaurants were excellent, my figure is still recovering. Gardens are stunning and well kept. Rooms and balcony are a haven from the hot sun, loved the day bed on the balcony, spent a few hours there photographing the little birds that flew in each day. Missing our aqua fit in the pool, yoga and body stretch as well as daily cocktails. Because of the resorts size, you get to know the other guests well, as you see them at meals, the various activities and champagne hour. A wonderful escape from the British winter. Read less

We stayed here as a couple for 2 weeks and had a lovely time. Beach The beach is pretty and is quite long so great for beach walks. The sea would vary between being quite rough to very calm, keep an eye on the flags for swimming and water sports. Restaurants There are 3 restaurants in the hotel, the terrace which is sometimes a la carte and sometimes buffet which overlooks the beach, Malabar which is on the beach and a la carte and thyme which is indoors and air conditioned a la carte. All restaurants had good quality food with a variety of options. You can also pay a surcharge for jumbo king prawns, lobster or ribeye steak. There were some special evenings throughout the week, this included under the stars, the beach bbq and Caribbean night. Breakfast is served in the terrace and has an egg station, the lady who cooks there even remembered what we were having after a while without us needing to ask. I celebrated a birthday while I was there and the hotel put on a special breakfast for me. Malabar and the terrace restaurant both serve lunch and dinner whereas thyme is only open for dinner. Be careful to book your restaurants in advance as it was quite difficult to get reservations for the days and times we wanted. Also there were a few issues where bookings went missing as there was miscommunication between concierge and the restaurants, however the restaurant did still accommodate us luckily. Room We had a beachfront room which was of a good size but the decor was a little dated and there were a few maintenance issues. Be careful when putting your clothes in the wardrobe, one of my dresses got stained from the varnish. The bath towels and hand towels were really small, not great if you want to wrap a towel around your head to dry your hair etc. our room only had single glazing so it was quite noisy at night as you could hear dogs barking, the road and of course the whistling frogs. The windows need a good clean. Activities We went on a boat trip to see the pitons organised by the hotel which was lovely. We went to pigeon island on our own steam and just got reception to organise the taxi, this was a great place to visit with an old fort and a lovely beach which was good for snorkelling. We also went for dinner to Tao at BodyHoliday which was really yummy. There is a full schedule of fitness and entertainment activities from 7am through to 11pm, evening entertainment was good and we enjoyed aqua fit. Staff The staff in all areas of the hotel were really friendly and worked hard to ensure they were giving good service. They really do make this hotel. Other bits The WiFi was quite poor in certain areas of the resort so a lot of the time you had to move to get better signal. Lastly the hotel does allow day guests from the cruise ships, I didn’t enjoy the days they came in as it completely changed the dynamic of the hotel with very different clientele. I know the hotel is trying to make more money but this put me off. This was really obvious as the overnight guests were all very friendly and like a little community- people would often go for dinner together or have drinks in the bar together. There were a lot of returners to the hotel with many having been 4,5,6+ times! Overall the holiday was very relaxing and we enjoyed our fortnight in the hotel. I would recommend trying it if you haven’t already. Read less

This was either our sixth or seventh visit to this hotel -- so we obviously like it. It's an easy-going yet good quality place. We had a garden room, which is very pleasant, set among very lush greenery. As ever the staff members were excellent: pleasant and as helpful as you'd want them to be. The food was pretty good - especially in the Thyme a la carte restaurant (formerly The Trysting Place). The champagne bar is also very pleasant for a pre-dinner tincture. One of the things we like about the location is that it has a nice long beach for morning and later afternoon walks. In fact I made a short and amateur YouTube film of the walk along the beach to the Vigie Lighthouse). It's very pleasant, with great views from the lighthouse. I also like to walk into Castries. The walk isn't great, alongside the road, but I like to wander around the town. A day trip to the sister hotel of The Body Holiday is great. Also recommended is a visit to Pigeon Island. It's interesting, but the hike to Signal Peak requires some fitness. I expect we'll be back in 2024. Read less

Fabulous holiday but some issues that could do with addressing in the hotel before the really good things (that way management take note rather than flicking by yet another positive review): Suggested improvements Some areas of the hotel and our room were a little dated and in need of some TLC / renewal. Our shower area needs retiling and the outside door handle was rusty and the backing plate was falling off. There had clearly been a shelf in the shower area but that had gone and holes filled in but it looked a little tired. The wooden stairs to the upper floors of the beach front block need re-painting or re-staining and the rear of the rooms on the beach-front block look very stained and tired and also need re-painting. The wifi is okayish but it does drop out a lot on the beach area and it doesn’t work at all at ‘Malabar’ restaurant and the sunbeds by Malabar had intermitant wifi, weirdly the wifi didn’t work in our bathroom. Some of the concierge organisation was off. On two separate occasions our booking in Malabar restaurant wasn’t recognised by the restaurant. In fact, on one occasion I even double checked with the reception/concierge staff about a reservation only for Malabar to still have no record of it?! The main pool is great but half of it was always roped off because of a bizarre ‘trough’ of really deep water which does spoil the flow and size of the pool. The really good things: The Location The location of the hotel is beautiful. The gardens are so pretty and well maintained. The beach is regularly raked each morning to get rid of pebbles and coral etc, the beach frontage is stunning. The sea was fabulous and we even had a few days of decent rolling waves but the break-waters keep the sea safe. There were plenty of sunbeds and regular supply of clean beach towels. The service with drinks, beers, and fresh water was really good. There is a small shop on-site and a small super-market 4 mins walk outside the hotel on the far side of the roundabout which is really well stocked it even has Waitrose-own brands! There is a gym and showers upstairs which can be used before you depart to the airport if you have had to vacate your room. I used the hotel laundry service which ran like clockwork and cleaned our things really well. There is a small airfield nearby which I loved. They are only small planes and they fly out about once every 45 mins and do not take off at night, so it’s genuinely no bother at all. The staff Excellent and very friendly, everyone including the gardeners and housekeeping say ‘hello’ and the staff work so hard to make everyone feel relaxed and welcome. Real characters include the breakfast live-station cook, Natasha “NICE!” 😆 (who serves drinks in the pool areas), Jo and all the aqua-fit crew, and Kingsley in the restaurants, but all the staff really do make this hotel what is it. The food Personally, I thought the choice and quality of food was excellent throughout the hotels three restaurants. We loved ‘Malabar’, and although ‘Thyme’ was perhaps quite dated decor-wise, it does have a quaint charm about it. I loved the fact that there is a proper cheese-trolley in Thyme. The house wine (part of the all-inclusive package) was good enough for me and the choice of cocktails were great. Service in all the restaurants was to a very high standard. Afternoon tea & cake is served in the main bar area at 4pm which was also to a high standard. Champagne evenings were held most evenings at 7-8pm except on Wednesdays in the lovely champagne bar. We did treat ourself to a meal in the sister ‘Body Holiday’ resort which was excellent and to a very high standard. However, there was some confusion and we ended up paying $90 for drinks as we were served non all-inclusive drinks. All that said, it was a very enjoyable evening out and just 35-40 mins taxi drive away. The Pools There are two excellent fresh-water pools, plus a ‘lazy river’ next to the Spa pool which is a really interesting feature for the hotel grounds to have. Activities 11am aqua-exercise was very good and lots of fun. The staff who do that in the blazing sun should be commended. They make it a good work-out but with lots of humour. There is water sports and archery plus a well equipped gym, and beach-fit for those that want it at 07.15am on the beach. In the evenings there was live music (very good) fire-breathing on BBQ Night (Fridays) which was really very good. I thought the entertainment was to a high standard. We went on a boat trip to the Pitons and paid the hotel about $420 for a private boat with skipper and had champagne + nibbles. We got to do snorkelling and even saw some dolphin! It was expensive (given it was our own boat for the trip) but we really enjoyed our afternoon and were treated like royalty by the crew. The Animals There are two ‘local’ stray dogs and two cats …a black dog and pale dog who are so placid and friendly - say “hello” to them. They are strays but look in very good health and they are regulars every day on the beach and are no bother at all. In fact they are part of the wider hotel family and lots of guests love having them around. The black & white cat would sometimes lie on our 1st floor sofa outside our room. He was lovely and friendly. The white cat just minded its own business chasing birds (and never catching them!) they are all lovely natural editions to the character of the place. Personal touch My wife had her birthday during the stay and the staff laid on a special table at breakfast decorated with flowers, and then they came out with some sparkling wine and sang “Happy Birthday” ..caribbean style! That was a really nice touch. Summary Despite a few issues, all-in-all StolenTime is excellent. It’s not as plush or as new as its sister hotel ‘BodyHoliday’ but for me it has bags of character, it’s got a relaxed atmosphere, and the staff make it such a special destination. I would absolutely give the hotel five out of five and would very happily return. Read less
