Gorgeous resort! Our butler, Michaela, was amazing and organized everything for us from start to finish. From our bungalows, to the restaurants, to boating, and the beaches, everything was perfect. Service and food was exceptional, We will definitely be back!

I travel with my kids and when my kids are treated with so much respect and adoration, it really speaks volume. Every single person / department we encounter we were treated like Royalty.

Let’s start with all the Pros: This resort was absolutely beautiful! It reminded of Hawaii in the Caribbean. The Villas with infinity pools were stunning. The staff were very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was delicious with everything you could want for breakfast! The Bonte Mexican buffet and BBQ buffet were absolutely delicious. The Tandoori night at the Jaoiloise was great too. The Bonte had great live music nightly! The beachside food and beverage service was quick, and they never rushed you off the beach chairs. I managed to stay until 6:00pm one evening when the bugs weren’t so bad. The beach service had the best Pina Coladas I have had, and I travel to lots of islands. Many excursions can be scheduled from the concierge, and they do everything they can to accommodate your selections and schedule. The gym has everything you need for a full workout. The spa services we had were top notch! I really want to reiterate just how beautiful the views were from this resort, and the service was spectacular. Cons: If you travel during the rainy season, prepare for intermittent rainy days and LOTS of bugs!!!! There were mosquitoes everywhere!! We were eaten alive as soon as we checked into the open air lobby. We were eaten alive at breakfast every morning. We couldn’t sit outside to enjoy our beautiful patio and pool ever because the mosquitos were relentless. I drank my coffee staring out the window because sitting outside wasn’t a viable option. We used a ton of bug spray all day long. It was gross to have sunblock on top of bug spray constantly. My teen/young adult kids hated having to apply bug spray everywhere they went. On the beach, the sand flies and gnats were relentless. As soon as 4pm struck, the gnats were everywhere; and we all had to leave the beach. The gnats went in my ear, up my nose, in my eyes, and everywhere in between. It was very unpleasant and no bug spray could deter them. This resort requires a great deal of stair climbing and inclined walking. We had a Villa that was too far to walk in the rain and battling mosquitoes- so we had to take the vans everywhere on property. Most of the time, the vans arrived quickly. There were a few times the vans took longer, but scheduling pick up times took care of that issue most of the time. I had to adjust to the idea that this wasn’t really a walkable resort. If your Villa is up high, you can’t walk even in the best of weather and bug conditions. If you come during the dry season, I imagine this resort is a true paradise!!! I probably won’t ever get my kids to agree to come back as all they can recall about the trip was getting eaten alive and being covered in cortisone to treat the bites. I never left my room without bug spray and cortisone. *I want to add that we arrived 10 days after a hurricane and this might have made the bugs worse! Read less

We visited the beach for about an hour and upon leaving, I was told by staff I could not use the resort’s beach washing area to rinse my feet as it was for guests only. After turning me away, this staff member then got the idea to inquire if I patronized the resort. After learning we did, we were granted permission to rinse. I politely declined their water. The beach and snorkeling was nice & I can tolerate inflated prices for good service, but not if I will be treated unkindly after payment. Read less

We stayed in a two-bedroom villa up on level 9. The views from rooms 904/905 are a solid 11/10. Just outrageous. The villa itself was massive. Huge outdoor areas. Covered patio. Several loungers, many chairs, two plunge pools, indoor/outdoor showers, clawfoot tubs, four TVs, two minifridges, chandeliers in the closet and bathroom. Butler was always quick to help us when we called on our personal Nokia they provided. This is some high-end stuff up here! The pool was the most beautiful setting of any pool I've ever been to. Beach was calm. Snorkeling off to the right of the beach lived up to the hype - saw cuttlefish, an octopus, about a thousand fish included parrotfish. Even on the main beach you can see fish in the shallows. Fun times! They have water toys in the shallows, and are a more family friendly resort than I had expected. School is out in the US, so there are probably more kids than usual. We brought ours and they loved it. Kids menu items are good. Restaurants were all very good. I would get bored eating here if staying a week. But we did three nights after staying for a few at another place. I did not get sick of anything at Sugar Beach. Except the shuttles. If you're staying up in a villa, forget about walking anywhere. Shuttles or bust. very very very steep. So if you're heading down to the beach, do NOT forget anything. That was my only complaint really - being so far from beach or pool. Other reviewers say it isn't a big deal, but I disagree. It's fine for dinner. But for all day it gets old. Sometimes they show up fast, sometimes they don't. As for the #1 complaint I saw going in, the restaurant food prices, I heartily disagree that these are eye-watering prices. They are high, yes. But you are at the fanciest resort in the entire country. What do you really expect?? We paid about $250 for five-person lunches, maybe $350 for dinners. That's about double what you might pay away from the resort, but that tracks with normal hotel markups to me. Oh and the Jetty Burgers at the South Pier had a lot of people talking them up, which had me skeptical. How good could a burger be in Saint Lucia? Answer: one of the best I've ever had in my life. They are like an In-N-Out style burger but these actually taste good. They're using some magic in that kitchen. Shockingly good. Fantastic place - recommend highly! Read less
