Positioned in the island's leading tourist location, you've got shops, bars, restaurants and excursions right on the doorstep, but you'll have to drag yourself away from this stylish hotel first. Service was excellent and the restaurant staff very cheerful. Occasionally things ran out but there were always acceptable alternatives. Sandra my room maid was lovely, coccineous and cheerful Front of house staff were good at arranging any tours that were wanted, they also handled a district wide water supply problem well. It's a short 200 yard? walk to the beach where they have their own sunbeds and umbrellas FOC. The only negatives were they are still trying to come up with a way of fairly managing the poolside sun loungers and the bar staff insisted on playing dreadful LOUD and repetitive rap / reggae / Caribbean music and were reluctant to turn it off or down or replace it with something more appropriate to the guest profile until there were several complaints to the management. I particularly liked the NO children and the guests were mainly of a similar age and background. I would stay there again. Read less

Stayed for 10 days in May. First impressions ok quick easy checkin. Room nice but a broken toilet seat. Reported but had to ask a further 2 times to get it fixed. The main problem with this hotel is the long wait for food. Like others have said once the food got to you it was excellent but I can't see how it takes over an hour for a bit of scrambled egg on toast. The staff in the restaurant are fantastic and if it wasn't for them I'm sure there would have been a lot of very unhappy people. Michelle had come over from SOCO house in Barbados to see what was going on as management knew there were issues. Michelle was great and took on board everything we told her. This hotel needs a Michelle as current management were never seen or didn't care. The beach is a few min walk away and the hotel give you a cool box to take drinks which is a great idea. Sunbeds on the beach are available for free. Never enough sunbeds at the hotel heard of people getting up at 5am to secure a bed. No water the last 24 hours of our stay not good. Luckily the hotel across the road let me use their facilities. The bar was good and had a lot of fun with people in the hotel, staff great. Bed the most comfortable I've ever had. This place could be very good but in its current state I would not return or recommend it. Thank you to the lovely staff for all their hard work you are amazing. Read less

In March 2020 my wife and I stayed at the marvellous boutique Soco Hotel on Barbados and loved it so much that we still, 2 years later, recommend it highly to our family, friends and acquaintances. In May 2022 however, as a party of 6, comprising family & friends, we tried its 'new' work-in-progress sister 'Soco House Hotel' in St Lucia. Unfortunately, we were upset (and obviously quite embarrassed as we had long highly recommended it) to find that the St Lucia Soco House is not up to the same high standards that we had hoped and expected. The Soco House Hotel is the old Blu Hotel, apparently hastily given copious coats of white emulsion paint. The fixtures and fittings, e.g. towel rails, toilet roll holders, etc., appeared rather cheap and flimsy and were prone to falling off in use. There were no hanging hooks on doors or walls in the bathroom, the small hallway or in the bedroom (apparently other guests rooms were also similarly lacking) and therefore there was nowhere to hang coats, wet towels or swimwear. There was no shaver/electric toothbrush socket in our bathroom or ceiling light in the dingy hallway next to the wardrobe as for some reason they had been blanked off with plates. On two occasions, Housekeeping forgot to make up our room or replenish the consumables. The food in the spacious, airy and comfortable restaurant however was really excellent, tasty, well prepared and very professionally presented. Unfortunately, although the restaurant was very adequately staffed with really friendly and keen waiting staff, they appeared to have had very little formal restaurant training, have any logical or efficient systems in place. They never seemed to have any idea what was already sold out until they had taken your orders into the kitchen and then had to come back out to apologise and ask you to make an alternative choice. Every meal was pot luck whether everyone on the table would actually get what they had ordered and in sync with others. Meals were often taken out to the wrong tables. We waited for over 45 minutes one night for our starters but they then brought the main courses out first. We had 2 days without any fresh running water in the hotel for showering, washing or flushing the toilet. One day the kitchen was suddenly closed and we were bussed up the road to another restaurant for lunch because the Chef had apparently refused to prepare food for guests in an environment where kitchen staff were unable to wash their hands. We were told that there was an Island-wide problem with no water, but some of our fellow guests had been told by the large hotel over the road that they were welcome to go over there and shower if they wanted to. Some of our fellow guests were bringing out their room's waste bins to fill with water from the swimming pool to take back inside to flush their toilets! I think that the final straw that made the end.of our stay and the general atmosphere in the hotel quite unpleasant, came when about halfway through our supposedly 'All-Inclusive' holiday, the hotel owner pushed a letter under every guest's door. The letter announced that the hotel was now going to charge $35 US a day for the use of the curtained day beds (wishful thinkingly referred to as 'cabanas') alongside the pool. Some upset guests apparently tried to talk to the owner face to face about this strange way of alienating customers, but he walked off. Read less

I wish I could give this hotel two reviews: a 5-star, exceptional review for the staff who are wonderful. The food also gets a big thumbs up - it is far better than at many top-end hotels and restaurants in St Lucia. We dined at both the Viceroy on Sugar Beach and the Cliff at Cap Maison and the food here is comparable if not better. As for the running of the place, where to begin...! Whenever there is a problem (which was every day during our stay), management are nowhere to be seen. The staff are not empowered to make ANY decisions, and the place looks more like someone's PR pet project than a smooth-running operation. It looks good but there is zero attention to detail. We paid for a top-end poolside room yet were sent to the top floor as they were overbooked. After much complaining, they did move us a few days into our holiday. There are not enough sunbeds to cope when the hotel is at half-capacity, never mind if it is ever actually full. Towels were laid on loungers before 6am daily. There was a local water shortage, and while all the other hotels had planned ahead and filled up their water tanks, SoCo didn't manage to do this, so we had no running water for almost 24 hours. After much complaining from all the guests, they eventually bussed us out to eat at a restaurant in town. They were constantly running out of drinks, including water. Service speed was a bit hit-and-miss. Sometimes we were in and out of the restaurant in under 45 minutes, other times it was over two and a half hours to be served a three course meal. Advice: get there first thing for breakfast. Had a rat enter our room one night - staff and management couldn't care less. The hotel was very clean, and housekeeping was good - except for re-filling empties: we had to ask for replacement shampoo/shower gel on each occasion we needed it as they didn't seem to do this proactively when cleaning the room. Safes didn't work and there was no safe in reception, so nowhere to securely store your documents and valuables. This is not 4-star boutique, and we would leave a 1-star review were it not for the exceptional staff, they truly made our stay bearable. My advice to management is: get an experienced hotel manager to sort out the place asap. Read less

Amazing hotel with absolutely first class staff that made a great holiday even better! If you are looking for a boutique hotel that offers a personal service then stay at the SoCo. It’s not beachfront but just one road back and only 5/10 mins walk to the beachfront that has an area allocated for SoCo guests. Cool boxes with cold drinks are available every day from the hotel, this is a unique touch. The food is amazing a la carte daily including breakfast. 15 mins walk to Rodney Bays shops and bars. The staff that work at the SoCo really made the holiday for us they are so helpful and friendly. This is a newly opened hotel (Nov 21) and a few tweaks are still being ironed out but let’s all be grateful we can finally get away! Would highly recommend and hope to go back at some point in the future. Hi to all the staff from Charlie’s Angels! Read less
