The hotel

When you arrive at the front of the Soco House, you'll feel like you've been transported to South Beach, where vintage Art Deco architecture meets contemporary sophistication. The white and blue theme gives it a breezy, beach vibe and will have you chilling out on the sand in no time. Positioned in the island's leading tourist location, you've got shops, bars, restaurants and excursions right on the doorstep, but you'll have to drag yourself away from this stylish hotel first. The pool bar is the perfect place to chill with a cocktail, or indulge the senses at the spa with a massage - the choice is yours. The food is nothing short of exceptional, with an intimate vibe in the restaurant that is reflected all over the hotel - this really is the place to be seen this year!

Everything has been addressed in previous reviews, but I emphasise the issue with the sun loungers. I hate that people reserve sun loungers, I find it so greedy and I have not had to in all my other holidays. Everything has been addressed in previous reviews, but I emphasise the issue with the sun loungers. I hate that people reserve sun loungers, I find it so greedy and I have not had to in all my other holidays. However I found myself getting out to put my towels down at 6:30am this morning , and guess what, all were taken bar 3. So at least we got a lounger. Tonight's dinner (still sitting here waiting so I thought I'd write a review ) has been the longest so far, been here about an hour and a half and only just got served our dessert. Food is tasty but portions are small and the menus don't change often. You can often get the same menu 2 days in a row. Breakfast menu is always the same. So to get enough food, you have to order several items. It's like they skimp to save money and I get that to an extent because even groceries from supermarket is very expensive. Like you'd order scallop salad and it's 1 salad cut up to smaller pieces, or grilled shrimp salad which is 2 prawns cut in half down the middle to make it look like 4. Bedroom is good though, but I've been bitten by mozzies because there is no netting and your bathroom will have glass panes which are always open, allowing them in, as well as the door which has a big gap at the bottom. People are nice though generally but you will get one or two who dont seem to want to be here. Bar staff are great and generally friendly, especially Jay. They just need to address the issues with loungers both at the pool and beach... They need to invest in new equipment as it just makes the place look bad. I didn't have the highest of expectations given the reviews I read before coming here yet I was still disappointed occasionally. Otherwise , it's at a good location and the price is pretty good compared to neighbouring resorts. Read less

Arrived after a 2 hour transfer luckily we are not travel sick, the hotel is 23 Miles from the airport but you have to go up the mountain & back down...reception is very spacious & stark white, with massive chairs & blue stools, they also have low down & small plastic rocking chairs, which could be replaced with comfy chairs to sit on. Greeted by very friendly staff & shown to our room, as stated in previous reviews name badges would help. Our room was spacious mattress comfy to sleep on as were the pillows..bathroom was spacious but lacked good light, the shower was brilliant pessure wise but water came over the lip & around the back of the sink, which the maid cleaned up daily for us, had plenty of hot water, yes we had issues for 2 days very little water due to a pump failure, but was great once fixed. Ensure you have adapters 3 types of plug sockets used, mirror in our room to far from plugs. SUNBEDS this is a MASSIVE issue, AND SOCO management take note as we have read a previous response from you saying you felt there was enough beds...WELL this is not the case, there are 18 beds for 70 rooms, agreed the top floor rooms have their own beds on balconies but would still like to be able to use the pool area, unless you are prepared to be out by 6.30am to bags a bed you have no hope..THIS WAS A MASSIVE ISSUE FOR US .the deck chairs need sending to the beach & replaced with beds, ideally with ones that come with own sunshade. Deck chairs are uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time. There is a rooftop bar, with spectacular views, several beds up there with very little shade, tables & chairs.. one section of stairs steep. This bar does cocktails only. The food as stated in other reviews is very hit & miss, Breakfasts exceptional with a lot of choices, lunch & evening menus rotate every 2 days, Some choices were not to our taste so we chose to eat out those nights. We loved the idea that your order was taken & food was brought to you, although it could either be 20mins or up to an hour. the waitress staff worked their socks off always welcoming & smiling, Bar staff always pleasant & smiling & kept tabs on whose turn it was. Bar kept spotlessly clean. All in all we had a good time met some lovely people and would go back if we were to go to St Lucia again but hopefully the issues with the sunbeds would be resolved, its based in a great area easy to walk to town & beach, Read less

Sunbeds were nowhere near enough you have to get up at silly o'clock to get your towel down; I found I started talking with a German accent by the end of the holiday....."zee sunbed in my mine jawohl". Service in the restaurant was hit and miss there were actually some skeletons that never got served who were too polite to complain..it's a British thing! Seriously the restaurant staff need some training. Ahhhhh... the showers have you ever been lathered up and the shower suddenly stops? This happened all too frequently, eventually the water came back but it was all a bit of a mystery. But all in all, it was a pleasant stay, everyone was friendly and the staff tried their best, the cocktails were good, as was the food when it turned up, and the place was very clean. Would I go again? No..........too many amateurish foibles that we tolerated but nonetheless were needless, if we concentrated on the negative things it would spoied our holiday so we looked on the bright side; the glass was half full. Laundry was trying its best each day to provide towels. Not enough sun loungers - 20 for 70+ rooms. Uncomfortable, unsuitable public area chairs - high chairs, low tables - or look good but aren't. Unfinished executive rooms - a desk without power or sofa - waste of space. All a bit rough around the edges. Could be so much better with some thought and planning. Read less

Beautiful small white resort. Even better since it was adults only resort. Very warm and friendly staff especially Elouise who definitely has a memory for her guests names. Delicious and refreshing cocktails made by Desma and her colleagues. Thanks you Warner, Jay (few names I can remember.)
