My company put me in his hotel and paid for the cheapest accommodation and so was planning on paying for an upgrade and paying the difference. The friendly front desk person showed me several rooms and then told me the price. I then agreed and we signed the room rental agreement and I paid the difference. A few hours later she told me that she had made a mistake and the cost would be twice the price. I was astounded and told her that the hotel cannot do a bait and switch on me as that is wrong. I have paid and moved into the room. She said she would have to ask her manager and get back to me. The next day I checked back in and she said she was waiting to hear from her manager. She then said she would have to get approval to take the money to pay the difference from the company that booked my hotel. The firm who booked and paid for the room had a credit since one person had to cancel, 2 weeks in advance, and they were given a credit. I asked her what does the company that booked and paid for the hotel have to do with my transaction. Since the upgrade was just between me and the hotel. She said there was no connection. She was still waiting to hear back. Near the end of my stay, I asked if the issue was resolved and did I owe anything for the room. she said I did not owe anything more for the room. I later found out they charged the company for the extra amount, using up part of their credit and at the same time lied to my face that this issue was resolved. The company is deducting the money from my payment as a result. I am still astounded by their bald-faced lies and would never stay here again. I advise all to avoid this hotel like the plague. I will review the restaurant separately

Home away from home

My experience was truly a home away from home one. My penthouse was exactly as seen in the photos on the website with a combination of modern and classic decor. This gave a relaxing ambiance.
The room’s location gave me both an ocean and garden view vantage point.
The greatest asset is the staff who made my every request attainable.

After 6 weeks I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt I will return to Beachcombers.
If you are looking for serenity, easy access to the beach while taking in St.Vincent’s culture and people then Beachcombers is the ideal accommodation for you.

Lovely meal with staff who made you feel welcome

Lunchtime visit for my father's birthday at a restaurant that seems to be going through an ownership change compared to a visit last year.
Drinks were fine, I had an issue with a pina colada that was quickly rectified.
We were served mainly by a trainee Rohan, who was both courteous and funny, ensuring that our stay was enjoyable.

Good value but needs some work on details of guest service

The Hotel was clean, rooms adequately furnished, and the gardens lush, and beautiful. Although the description states a pool, I would say a better description is more of a dipping pool, since it is slightly larger than the size of a large hot tub. WIFi was inconsistent and extremely slow. I found that going to a nearby restaurant provided faster and more reliable service. Staff was very kind, and accommodating. The restaurant..this is where things get interesting; the menu is stagnant and always the same with items becoming unavailable for days. Although I get island time, the restaurant staff is quick to take your order, but there is inconsistency in follow up, and making sure a diner doesn’t need anything else such as another drink or asking if one would
like dessert.. I had to prompt to get my bill every time I ate there. I was also very curious about why the restaurant manager, at least that’s who I believe it was, along with the assistant Mgr. were so busy fawning over certain parties, that reminded me of young , wannabe creatives, but then were completely aloof, and ignored other parties that either came to dine or were staying at the hotel. Word of advice, when it comes to service you make sure to touch ALL your tables, since you never know who you may be serving, and it’s really elementary in customer service. For a restaurant that tries so hard to be trendy and chic,, for me, and my party it fell flat on all fronts which was a pity since it does have so much potential if it was run correctly, and the staff was trained properly on service . They tried, but they needed more development in the refinements of dining. We ate better, and the execution was more on point at other restaurants we had the chance to try out. Is Beachcomber a good value, yes. would I consider this a boutique hotel. no. You will be underwhelmed and I recommend that you seek out that white glove service you may be expecting somewhere else. I love staying at family run operations where you feel that invested connection to service in every touch, but for me this operation fell short, and was lacking. I appreciated the opportunity to stay here and give this a try, but next time I will be looking elsewhere, and would recommend the same to my acquaintances. In all honesty I’m not that hard to make happy but I just felt something was missing and it really started up at the heart of this hotel operation, which for me. was the restaurant. Maybe adding some
Lounge chairs by the little beach would also be a nice personal and welcoming touch for those staying on as guests or offering towels instead of having your guests needing to ask if they are even provided. It’s those small details that make a difference.

Payments are being prioritised based on when the request was made, working in order from March 2020 onwards. We will always try to process refunds at the earliest opportunity, for requests before August our maximum timeframe is 120 days. As we are steadily reducing the maximum processing time for each new request, for refund requests made in August, we expect the maximum processing time to be 80 days, from the date the refund is requested. For those requesting a refund in September, we expect it to be processed within a maximum of 60 days, and then reduce to 30 days for refunds requested in October, before returning to normal levels.
To finalise the amendment, one of our customer advisors will phone you. We need to work through amend requests in departure date order so we can prioritise those with the most imminent travel plans, so you may have a longer wait than usual until we’re able to ring you back. We will help everyone that wants to move their holiday.
