The hotel

Located at the southern tip of Kowloon, the Sheraton Hotel & Towers is a sophisticated retreat from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. Close proximity to both the nearest MTR station and ferry pier make this an ideal base for enjoying all that the city has to offer, and you won’t need to go far for gorgeous views over Victoria Harbour; you can find them whilst swimming laps in the rooftop pool, enjoying seafood at the Oyster & Wine bar, or when sipping cocktails at the Sky Lounge. Three in-house restaurants serve-up both local and international culinary delights in stunning settings, but there is also 24-hour room service available to those who fancy some quiet time. There’s a well-equipped fitness centre if you wish to keep up with your regime, but runners might prefer to enjoy the jogging route adjacent to the hotel and harbour. Additionally, guests opting for Towers rooms will receive enhanced amenities, privacy and service - including a private reception area, and access to the exclusive Towers lounge.

I expected that as it was reflected in the lower price for the night. The room is quite clean and well-maintained. I didn't see stains in the bathroom and on the carpet and while the decor is dated, it is well-maintained. There is a long desk with proper chair which is great for working. Luckily, the construction noise was not too audible in my room and did not get in the way of my meetings. Staff are courteous and very professional. With lounge access, they tried to manage the numbers and offered to call back once a table is ready so we can wait in our room. Room service arrived promptly and tasted quite nice. Read less

HOTEL mentioned at check in that because of renovation work there would be some noise at parts of the hotel. It turned out this meant a team of workers would be banging and drilling directly above my bed/desk area for the entire day, room was "too loud to think" let alone talk on the phone, read etc. It is unscrupulous and absurd for Marriott, to… Read more

It turned out this meant a team of workers would be banging and drilling directly above my bed/desk area for the entire day, room was "too loud to think" let alone talk on the phone, read etc. It is unscrupulous and absurd for Marriott, to sell rooms under these conditions. When I complained at the front desk, management said I could use business center for calls and doing work! The window was covered in scaffolding with debris hitting the windows, by the way (see image). I left for another hotel after two nights of six nights even though this was a nonrefundable reservation. This situation was particularly ridiculous given the presence of nice hotels where I fully expect this never would have occurred at a similar price range in the area! The people seemed courteous but this was needless to say overshadowed. Read less

Sheraton Hong Kong is going through some major renovation, which I 100% agree that the hotel is desperately needed. I will let the pictures speak for itself. Sheraton Hong Kong is going through some major renovation, which I 100% agree that the hotel is desperately needed. I will let the pictures speak for itself. The room is really dated in terms of decor, but is spacious though. Most of the hardware is really out of date and one of my inhouse phones barely worked. I had to use the phone on bedside to make a few local calls, that the hotel charges me. The bathroom is actually okay if you like a bathtub, but without the bathtub, the sink area will be more spacious. I am sure the hotel will address that issue during its current renovation. The hotel has warned me about noise but the construction often started earlier than stated on the memo sent to guests. Just because you are not drilling, it does not mean that there are no noise at all. The hotel needs to reinforce the time for construction to take place. The gym is actually the nicest part, as it is clearly a branch of a major fitness centers in Hong Kong. The hotel also features a nice Chinese restaurant - Imperial Treasure and Morton's Steakhouse, but I will avoid the Japanese restaurant. The location of the hotel is really excellent as it is closed to various shopping malls, cultural venues, transportation hubs and restaurants. I hope the hotel's renovation will work out and improve the status of the hotel. As of now, I will hesitate to return to the hotel anytime soon. Also don't stay here till the renovation is completed. It might be an older hotel but the room are upgraded and the service is superb. There is nothing the staff won’t do for you and while they cannot keep physical contact it is easy by phone. they They leave your food in the door, ring and remind you your parcels arrived. i never have to do my washing but with Sheraton kowloon U don’t mind because the staff us so pleasant. Good staff start from good management so I wrote a thank you note to Michael Issenberg, given the difficulties he deserves a 3 grade promotion! Read less
