Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa

Nusa Dua, Bali

Virgin rating

The hotel

Living up to its ‘authentically Bali’ mantra, Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa feels like a reincarnated Balinese palace. Every element’s lavish, with its three exquisite tree-fringed pools, sumptuous spa, gym, and seven bars and restaurants all adding to the fantastical feel. But nothing’s quite as regal as its grounds, where tropical greenery spills over balconies, tumbles through gardens, and comes to rest on the pure white sands of its beach. The effect’s a serene setting for garden tours, coconut leaf weaving, and traditional dance classes – and for Gecko Club’s child-focused island experiences. Inside its nine hectares, a dramatic temple-like structure splits to reveal an elaborate lily pond festooned with water features; Balinese guest rooms (including Butler-served Club rooms) divulge garden, pool, or beach scenes; and the incredible bamboo web of its double-decked brasserie opens up to hypnotic Indian Ocean views.

The shower is lukewarm warm at best and very weak. Fridge did not work No adapters provided for foreign plugs so take your own Furnishing are very tired Balcony is very small and outdoor seats so old. POOL. Great pool options but a BIG problem with sun loungers. There is just not enough and one day you can put towels out at 0700 and the chairs are yours. Next day the staff decide to take towels away after 30 mins with no warning. I witnessed some good arguments with very frustrated guests. Why for a hotel so huge don’t they have enough loungers and if you are going to have rules that is fair enough but be consistent. No wonder guests were angry. Beach - the sea water is horrible. There was literally rubbish in it. Empty food packets among other things. I thought this could have been from the storm earlier in the week but we were still here a week later and rubbish had not gone Wifi - is most definitely not high speed If you are in Luxury Eacapes it is very hard to get into a restaurant at a reasonable eating hour. Make sure you book in advance. Same with the massage, they have spots available but when you say it is LE suddenly the time is not available happened to us twice. The staff try their best and on the whole are very friendly. I would not return to the Nusa Dua beach hotel and spa, especially given the options in Nusa Dua. Just wanted to finish wit Read less

You can be as active or lazy as you please. There is water sports, yoga, water aerobics, cooking classes and so much more. They have a money changer with good rates, a doctor surgery, there was nothing we needed that they didn’t have. It’s off the toll road so easy to get around on day trips. We had day trips every second day as we had lots of activities planned. But no need to leave the hotel if you just want to chill. Read less

Had drinks and a meal at the beach walk restaurant here. Getting a cold beer, in what is a high end resort seems to be a problem. First one was Luke warm the second not much better. Please put your beers in the fridge the night before…..go to a Legian bar and learn.
