We arrived at Sol By Melia resort probably 4 times. The place was, of course, familiar, and our choice was the All Inclusive Plan where all meals and local alcoholic beverages were included in the price. We have always stayed in Sol Suite on 3 floors in rooms 8228-8230, which have been our favourite ones. The rooms are excellent, and even the air conditioning was reasonably quiet. We have some mobility problems and the stairs to the lower level are quite big. For the older crowd, we could suggest if the hotel would ever install a handrail to give support when getting out of bed towards the door. We put a beanbag chair to prevent possible nocturnal wanderings, and fortunately, the toilet is also on the upper level, so there is no reason to go downstairs at night. The beach is reasonable and the tide affects swimming and we had fun in the pool even though the water was moderately warm. There is a bar next to the pool where you can order drinks with local brands. Gin tastes like that, and so do other alcohols. They can't be compared to the originals, which can be purchased from the lobby bar for a separate fee. The beach chairs were in reasonable condition, except for the cleanliness of the plastic mattresses. The breakfast was good and meets the needs of even the most demanding traveller. In the breakfast area, Risna took care of things excellently, and she deserves the thanks. Of course, everyone else was also friendly and warm. Lunch was reasonably comprehensive, and there were enough vegetables on offer. The armrests of the chairs in the lunch room were quite dirty, and they slightly spoiled the dining event. I told the staff about it, and they promised that they would start putting them in a neater condition in a suitable interval. The blue-colored handrail of the swimming pool toilet was already repainted during our vacation, so the matter was well taken care of. We tried the A'la Carte Italian restaurant once and felt that the menu was almost the same as the kitchen restaurant, with a few exceptions. the hall was quite full, and serving with the power of 2 people was a heavy task, and the arrival of the dishes took a long time. The kitchen clearly couldn't keep up with the orders, and many guests were clearly disappointed. I think the menu has been shortened from the previous times, and the dishes were the same as they have been for years. It would be nice if there was some variation in the list because you get bored with the selections of a narrow list. We also went twice to eat elsewhere for a change. In the AIP list, some doses are indicated with a yellow ball, where you have to pay more for the dose. Our deal was promised a 20% discount on the price, but then 21% taxes were added to the price, so the actual discount was plus or minus zero. AIP is so expensive in terms of room prices that you would think that in the future, they would consider removing the yellow balls, and all prices are AIP in use. If the menu is renewed, this issue would also be fixed . The dishes themselves on the menu were good and tasty. The portion sizes are large enough even for bigger customers. Overall, good vacation. Good hotel, more like a vintage kinda hotel in terms of how the hotel itself looks life. Rooms were nice and clean. Aircons fully functional, follows the vintage theme. Breakfast options were great. The dinner(s) outside the normal restaurant were awesome, accompanied by the live performances- nice touch. Overall visit in Bali was great.… Read more

Well one of the worse resorts we have been to. Wouldn't call it 5 or 4 star but a 3 star if that. Fully inclusive wasn't with very poor cocktails and alcohol and having to pay way above for branded drinks. Meals were cold most of the time, even had to return one for being stone cold. Fully inclusive wasn't with very poor cocktails and alcohol and having to pay way above for branded drinks. Meals were cold most of the time, even had to return one for being stone cold. Shower head was rotten with the plug never been washed. Towels were tatty and threadbare. Mould and a horrible stink coming from the bathroom. Had to phone for hand towels and half the time didn't even get towels. Don't do the fine dining it's the worse meal I have eaten, still used mass catering food not fresh. Pool was cracked broken tiles and had black marks round the pool. It's in the border of Nusa Dua and to see the other hotels all 5 star and 4 then this it's an insult considering we paid for 5 star. Have complained offically Read less

Loved our stay at this hotel. Rooms lovely an clean. Staff are amazing. Food was really good. Breakfast was great 👍. Cannot fault anything at this hotel. Only downside was people putting towels on sun beds early and not using them. All in all really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
