I stayed during the first week in March. I chose the Amari because of the pool.
It was my first time in Hua Hin and it's a nice quiet place. Still too many Ruskies around however.
The staff was fantastic, polite and very helpful. It helps if you give tips every so often.

We didn't eat at the hotel because 17% government surcharge destroys my enjoyment of dining. Why can't they hide the charge in the bill somehow.
The room was fantastic as we were upgraded to a pool view. Housekeeping can be a bit lazy. They made the bed and cleaned the bathroom ok but they never emptied the rubbish bins automatically and they never left hand towels unless we asked. There were six dead cockroaches on the first morning but none after. They refunded us the upgrade charge.
The pool was very good but the deepest part was only four foot. It could have been deeper in one section to 2 metres at least. The cocktails at happy hour by the pool weren't strong enough but service was excellent.
The hotel was further south from downtown than I would have liked but very close to Cicada and Tamarind markets. Taxis were 150 baht and the baht buses were 15 baht I think.
I would like to name two ladies who worked in reception who were very helpful; Miss Mew and Miss Yeen. Fantastic ladies, spoke good English, very nice and gave great service.
Would I stay there again? Yes!
