On the road again from Phuket to Bangkok. As always a nice stop at this hotel. The room was on the ground floor overlooking the garden and the pool, beautiful and clean. Happy hour drinks and dinner at the coast was lovely. Enjoyed the outdoor e.g. the garden, beach front and the museum. Breakfast was the best.

Had a 3 week stay here in January 2022. The hotel is beautiful and has a rich history which is in evidence all around the hotel. The grounds are extensive and absolutely stunning. Very central location and right on the beach. The staff were very friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

Great place, with a splendid style and personality. The old colonial style of the buildings, the immense park, very well kept, overlooking the beach where you can watch the proletarians sitting on their bums in the sand while you enjoy a mojito in a deck chair. Superb. Breakfast in the shaded part of the lawn is a soothing experience. In the huge park, you can always find a quiet place to read your book or just daydream, all day long. Splendid. Unfortunately…. the staff at the reception are not so splendid. First, when I arrived the lady pretended that none of my credit cards was accepted. This is an old trick used by low grade hotels in order to obtain payment in cash and thus escape the Visa / Master Card commission and possibly also some company tax or VAT. Mean. They checked us in without payment anyway. Then, after staying 3 days, I asked the reception if we could stay 4 more days and guess what: the price went UP by 32% (84€ the first 3 days, 111€ for the last 4). Normally, in a customer friendly business, when an occasional customer turns into a regular customer he gets a special deal, no? Well not at Centara Hua Hin. The more you stay, the more you pay. Then when I checked out the lady pulled her “cards not accepted” trick again. I just had bought a plane ticket with one the cards so I was sure it worked. I looked her straight in the eyes and asked her politely to try again. Guess what ? Suddenly it worked. Mean and nasty too. Because for a few hours I was really quite scared to think that I was stuck in Thailand, 11,000km from home, without any mean of payment. So now after being first an occasional customer, then a returning customer, I’ve now decided to become a never-again customer. Pity, I loved the place. Read less

This is the perfect place if you want to relax at the beach. We went in Jan2022, so there were not many guests due to covid. In summary: - historical low-rise (wooden) buildings - restaurant right at the beach - large gardens with trees. Sense of space. - good food, reasonably priced. - good breakfast (egg and noodle station, Thai and international). - right in the town of Hua Hin (other restaurants etc within walking distance) The only downside was that the room (premium) was smaller than seemed to be on the pictures. With a third bed (we were three people) it was rather tight. But perfectly ok for two people. And of course: it is not cheap. Overall: it would be nice if there were more hotels in the world like this one. We also stayed in another 5star hotel in Hua Hin, and this one was clearly better. Read less
