Apsara Beachfront Resort & Villa

Khao Lak, Thailand

Virgin rating

The hotel

You could be forgiven for thinking the Apsara is only for water babies, with its beachfront setting, infinity swimming pool, villa pool, two kids' pools, pool villa upgrades, water slide and of course, the obligatory Jacuzzi. But there’s more to the Apsara than sun, sea and sand. Set in unspoilt tropical greenery, along Pakarang Beach, this All Inclusive haven offers a range of drinks and things to do. There’s the Thai cookery classes, Thai boxing, spa treatments, bike rental and kayaking to name but a few!

A quite unique setting. The hotel itself is superb but what really makes it is the staff. They are so friendly and polite and all they want to do is to make you happy. I hope the management read this review and personally thank their staff for the brilliant job they do. They work long hours in incredible heat but always have a smile on their face. A real credit to the hotel. Well done to all of you!!! The food was great and lots of choice. The hotel has a stunning infinity pool overlooking the beach and has stunning sunsets in the evening. The hotel is very quiet and relaxed which was just what we wanted. Please visit the elephant sanctuary in the jungle over the bridge next door and support a brilliant cause and a brilliant job they do caring for the elephants. The worst part about this hotel and Thailand was leaving...Thailand is a stunning beautiful country and we are already planning to return....and yes to the apsara...and we don't usually return to the same hotel !!! But this is different...its magical and we loved it. Read less

Room with ocean view was perfect, 100% clean (great job housekeeping!) and spacious. Some evenings we had dinner at the restaurant with the buffet and the good was delicious. There are different themes every evening through the week. The other nights or during the day we went to a beach bar close by the villas. Receptionist were amazing and had an answer to all our questions. It was a relaxing, laid back experience we are happy we had before we went back home!! Read less

Just recently returned from a lovely stay at the APSARA Beachfront Resort and Villa. On arrival from a long flight, we were greeted by some wonderful smiling faces in reception. After a short check in we were told that we had been upgraded to a jacuzzi pool villa. And it did not disappoint. We were taken to our villa by a buggy and shown around by the lovely Emee. The villa was absolutely wonderful. We had a separate living room with a huge flat screen TV. A large open plan bathroom area with his & her bathroom sinks which was great as it meant we could spread out our toiletries. It also had a spacious make-up area with a big mirror, mini fridge, tea & coffee station and two double wardrobes with plenty of space. A safe, two ropes, slippers and umbrellas were provided. The toilet was separate. The shower was outside and very private. It was lovely to be able to cool down during the day with the outside shower. I think other hotels in hot climate countries are missing a trick there. The bedroom was massive again with a huge flat screen TV and choices of pillows looking out to our own jacuzzi pool. We spent a lot of time in our pool villa, and it was really private and relaxing. Our villa was cleaned every day by some wonderful staff, nothing was too much to ask of them. The gardens are immaculately attended by the ground staff. Breakfast was lovely with the usual egg station and a good variety of choices. Again, the waiting staff were lovely, and nothing was too much if you asked for anything. We were given a complimentary voucher for dinner at the main resort. The food was lovely. We also had room service a couple of times and the food arrived in quick time and was nice and hot. You can ring for a buggy to take you to the main resort, and they always arrive within 10 minutes. The pool access rooms were over in the main resort, and they too looked lovely. Also at the main resort are a couple of souvenirs shops and while we were there, they opened another souvenir shop selling a ray of things. There is also a café serving hot or cold drinks and cakes. The hotel also offers a bus shuttle into Khao Lak town for about 100 or 200tbt, or they can call a tuk tuk or taxi for you which are around 300tbt if the times of the bus shuttle does not suit. Due to recent bereavement, we just wanted a place to chill and to recharge ourselves and we definitely got that at the Apsara hotel. All the staff were lovely. I can’t remember all their names. However, one staff member who stood out for us was Emiee. She was so lovely, professional, knowledgeable and she really enjoyed working at the Apsara resort and it showed. Emiee found time to check that we were enjoying our stay and again if her or her colleagues could help with anything. Really lovely lady and a great asset to the hotel. If you a want a relaxing time, with great service and a lovely hotel. Apsara is the hotel for you. Thank you so much to everyone at Apsara for making our holiday really lovely at a time when it was most needed. We can’t wait to visit again next year. Read less

We were blessed with gorgeous weather throughout our stay. The food at Apsara Beach Resort is simply outstanding, especially at the beach bar, where you can enjoy delicious meals with a breathtaking view of the ocean. The main pool features a small slide, which our kids absolutely loved. Additionally, the villas have their own pool and a wonderful restaurant where we enjoyed our breakfasts. The staff at Apsara Beach Resort went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They were incredibly friendly and attentive, providing fresh towels daily and ensuring our room was impeccably clean. Overall, we had an amazing time and would highly recommend Apsara Beach Resort for a family vacation. We can't wait to return! Read less

Another return visit and as always a fantastic welcome! A few things have changed, infinity pool has been retiled and looks great. The course of the estuary has changed but you can still paddle across at low tide. The best and most welcome addition is the new hotel shop, canned and bottled drinks, beer and bottled water. Snacks, chocolate, ice creams and a very good gift selection. Of course you can walk up to Lilly’s supermarket and pay less but the convenience of having a shop on site is long overdue I think. I love this hotel, all the peace and quiet you require. Perfect place for a wind down and reset. Thank you as always to Mark and Emee who always ensure everything is ok and make me feel most welcome. All of the staff are polite, courteous and a credit to the hotel. Thank you once again, it’s a long journey to get to you but Apsara you are so worth it! Hopefully see you next year. Read less
