Apsara Beachfront Resort & Villa

Khao Lak, Thailand

Virgin rating

The hotel

You could be forgiven for thinking the Apsara is only for water babies, with its beachfront setting, infinity swimming pool, villa pool, two kids' pools, pool villa upgrades, water slide and of course, the obligatory Jacuzzi. But there’s more to the Apsara than sun, sea and sand. Set in unspoilt tropical greenery, along Pakarang Beach, this All Inclusive haven offers a range of drinks and things to do. There’s the Thai cookery classes, Thai boxing, spa treatments, bike rental and kayaking to name but a few!

However, there was a buffet option too. We had our anniversary dinner and drinks at the hotel, we didn't want to go anywhere else. The staff are just incredibly friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Emma, Yuda, Yudi, everyone made our holiday extremely special and memories I will never forget. The hotel beach bar is delightful and the staff very friendly. The pool is lovely. We were sad to see how much plastic is washed up on the beautiful beach and the hotel do encourage a beach clean which we did. It would be great if the local beach next to the hotel was also cleaned and the source of the problem of single use plastic tacked in Thailand and Asia as a whole with single use plastic items banned or limited. We would definitely recommend this resort. Read less

Our stay at Apsara has been wonderful. From the moment we arrived until the day we left the staff have been so welcoming, friendly and attentive. The hotel is well kept, clean and tidy with sweet little touches such as fresh flowers and towel art. The food in the main restaurant was absolutely delicious, with a large menu to choose from we were able to eat something different at every meal time, each being as tasty as the next, Thai and international. The beach bar is comfortable and relaxing with an extensive drinks list. Staff there are friendly and efficient too. A great place to watch the sun go down listening to some good music. The bedrooms are a good size, with soft pillows and sheets, with daily maid service ensuring you feel fresh and comfortable at night after a hot day by the pool / beach. We were able to hire surf boards and paddle boards when we were feeling active. And would definitely recommend a massage or two at the hotel spa. Will definitely be back one day….x Read less

An honest review of the Apsara Beachfront Resort and Villa. We stayed at this lovely hotel at the end of June, it was extremely quiet this time of year just how we like it. Weather wasn't brilliant but we were out of season. The hotel resort and villas straddle a river and are connected by a bridge, if you don't fancy the walk you can always take a golf buggy driven by one of the staff. Rooms in the resort are lovely and the villas are fabulous. We had a sea view room in the resort and then, very kindly, upgraded to a villa. Because of the time of year, at the resort side, breakfast was a buffet but the other meals were à la carte, although the meals were delicious and cooked to order, the menu did become a little monotonous. You could eat, which we did a couple of times, at Karkinos beach club but this isn't part of all inclusive. In the Napalai Restaurant at the villa side everything was à la carte. The staff at the hotel were absolutely fantastic, from the manager who upgraded us (I'm so sorry I did not get your name) to the lovely ladies from house keeping to the great new members of staff...the trainees. In particular we would like to mention, Suzie, Aum, Ada, Yuda and finally Lae Wai who was fantastic, very friendly and went out of her way to help, a credit to the hotel. The only downside to our stay was not anything anyone could have helped with, unfortunately the beachfront in the hotels name is no longer there. The river I mentioned earlier has changed direction over the last 7 months and has eroded the beach away so much so that there is a drop of over 2 metres to the water where concrete blocks and other dangerous items lay. This is such a shame for the hotel, staff were trying to redirect the water flow with sandbags but I think this would take months if indeed it would work at all? I hope they get the help they were seeking to restore the beach. We would honestly recommend Apsara Beachfront Resort and Villa for the rooms, facilities, food and of course the fabulous staff (sorry if I didn't mention you by name) but you know who you are. Thanks for a lovely stay. Read less

This is a place for relaxation in the middle of nowhere. All three hotell restaurants have great food. It so quiet that the only thing you hear is frogs and criquets. All staff are so helpful, nice and friendly😍 Great spa with reasonable prices. Several other beaches are a short taxi ride away. We loved our three weeks at this hotel.
