Apsara Beachfront Resort & Villa

The hotel

You could be forgiven for thinking the Apsara is only for water babies, with its beachfront setting, infinity swimming pool, villa pool, two kids' pools, pool villa upgrades, water slide and of course, the obligatory Jacuzzi. There’s the Thai cookery classes, Thai boxing, spa treatments, bike rental and kayaking to name but a few!

I impulsively booked a break here based upon reviews and location hoping for the best. There was also an offer of a range of discounts so I upgraded to jacuzzi villa with a wellbeing holiday in mind. Generally, I’m an independent solo traveller nowadays and it was pleasing to find that Apsara works for all. I felt very comfortable indeed! A home form home. What can I say? I’m in love with Apsara! It was a beautiful, serene resort which attended to all my needs and more. As it wasn’t high season it was extra peaceful and an opportunity to connect with the deeply hospitable and efficient staff that work in this family-owned business – a personal touch which is a refreshing change from what chains provide. The shuttle bus they provide allowed me to pop into town and the markets at my leisure and retreat back to the resort which is nettled on a beach/quieter of the coast. The Spa had a wonderful steam room and a range of fabulous massages on offer. The only time I ended up leaving the resort was for the day trips I’d very easily and locally arranged. They were amazing! I didn’t mind the occasional seasonal rain, it’s what makes Khao Lak the beautiful green lush place that it is. One of the most relaxing holidays I’ve ever had, many thanks and well done to the Apsara team, I’ll be back! Read less

During our stay, which was out of season, there was some maintenance work going on but these areas of the hotel were away from those staying and they communicated any disruption. This was a well oiled machine with planning to ensure guests were away from noise. Food was good with local and international choices. We stayed all inclusive. All drinks were freshly made with good local spirits. Read less
