Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort & Spa

4 friends travelling and staying in 2 rooms. Spacious rooms and good size bathroom. We stayed in block 6, however there was a sewage smell on the outside terrace so we could never sit out there. And there is never enough tea & coffee provided for the room, although room service did provide us with some milk from the kitchen. Apart from the above, the hotel was lovely, with a good size pool. We had an amazing stay at Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort in a lovely large family room which overlooked the main pool. The family room was nice and big with a separate section for the children's bunk beds and a lovely bathroom with plenty of hot water and fluffy towels. The staff were very attentive from the moment we checked in to the moment we left, with the breakfast staff actively sorting a table as we arrived each morning to the housekeeping staff who did so cheerfully. Breakfast was buffet style with a huge array of food choices with the hot choices varying each day. There is a traffic light system in place to advise you on when the most busiest times would be, however, throughout our stay we never struggled with finding a table or food stuffs running out. The hotel has a kids club but we did not make use of this as we did not need this service, however, when talking with other guests if you normally use this, book in before you arrive. The hotel gym is well stocked with the usual gym equipment and cool so made for pleasant workouts. It is open long hours so there were never queues to use equipment. There is some evening entertainment from traditional Thai dancing to fire show and live bands which takes place at the beach bar pool and the beach directly opposite the hotel. The hotel is located at the end of the beach a short hop from the start of The Monkey Trail and access to a secluded cove as part of the National Park. It is just a short walk into town where there are a number of eateries serving a range of different cuisines. It is located next door to The Last Fisherman which is well worth a visit for dinner. I stayed for 4 night at this hotel. The hotel is very nice, with a very comfortable and big roons. The swimming pool is great and the area in front of the beach is very confortable. The food at the restaurant is very nice and the location is great. Just 2 steps away from the shops and restaurants. Just one very important point of attention. When you do your reservation ask for a room far from the bad smelling river. I read about it and it is true. I can not imagine opening the beautiful balcony and having the smelly air entering in the room. The worst is that you can not enjoy the balcony. I can not understand how there is such a rotten river in front a resort. Part of the balconies are to the swimming pool. Ask the reservation to these ones. Read less

The Hotel has a great situation, right on the beach with lots of restaurants, bars close by and had a happy hour twice a day with 2 for 1 cocktails and very cheap beers The rooms were relatively basic but very clean. The Staff generally were fantastic, particularly the house keeping staff. Most evenings there was live music on at the pool bar were you could sip a cocktail and enjoy the show. Read less

We had a brilliant week in the Centara Ao Nang. We had just come from Chiang Mai where we had stayed for 4 nights in a boutique hotel where the service was fantastic. Going from that to a larger hotel made us a little bit nervous as we weren’t sure if we would get the same level of service. We had no need to worry, the service on the whole at Centara was great but we want to give a special mention to Marina who served us regularly in the Sands Restaurant. Marina was brilliant, she was always smiling and gave us really good service during our 7 day stay. The other staff were also great and with the overall service that we received it made it a pleasure to eat and drink in the restaurant regularly despite it being a bit more expensive than some restaurants in Krabi. Thank you Marina and team for making our stay so enjoyable. It was our first time in Krabi and I have no doubt that we will come back to Krabi and Centara at some point. Read less
