Cape Panwa is absolutely beautiful. We arrived quite late on a Monday evening to be met by two delightful recptionists who checked us in very quickly & we were given a much needed ice cold drink & small chilled towel to cool ourselves. On being taken to our Junior Suite we were really impressed by the size, layout & cleanliness. After a lot of hours travelling we had an amazing night's sleep as we did every night following and had the most wonderful lady looking after us so thank you Patcharin especially for the beautiful elephants & swans you made us & for the bag. We were welcomed in the Andaman restaurant for breakfast with great respect & friendliness especially from Joe & Sandy who tried to ensure we had the same table for every meal as I am disabled & have to rely on using my wheelchair to get to different areas but because of the incredible help of the staff was able to use my sticks to walk to our table. We enjoyed being joined by the cheeky Minor birds at breakfast & lunch!! The food was incredible & we both had Thai food for the first time cooked by the wonderful chefs. We were entertained regularly in the evenings by a musical trio who played a fabulous selection of songs but we were particularly thrilled to hear The Shadows songs being played & sung so brilliantly so thank you. The beach was beautiful & whilst I couldn't swim in the sea still enjoyed the peace & tranquility of an incredible place. We dined on the beach outside Panwa House on two separate occasions which was incredible, the first time we were entertained to a fire show & the second to Thai dancers, Simon even joined in!! We were personally invited to a cocktail evening by the General Manager & spent a lovely evening speaking to other guests & being entertained by the beautiful singer/pianist Ice. We spent a lot of our time by the swimming pool & I found it fairly easy to get into the pool which was beautiful & the pool stewards were fantastic, as soon as they saw us they would get towels ready for us & nearly every day we had the same sunbeds which was wonderful & in the afternoons we were treated to a fruit kebab which were delicious. We did go on a couple of trips one into Phuket itself through our travel agent & saw the Lighthouse, the Big Buddha, had Thai street food & went to shops in Old Phuket, unfortunately the rain became too heavy to go far but what we did see was really beautiful. We also went to see Carnival Magic which was described as the biggest show on earth, which it really was, so spectacular we would highly recommend a visit to others. We went down to the local town & visited the Aquarium which was wonderful & walked along the sea front. We would like to thank all of the staff in the Andaman restaurant, reception, the lovely ladies who took care of our room & management for making our stay so memorable and we plan to return hopefully in 2025. We're staying here RIGHT now, and we just couldn't wait to post our review of this incredible place. We went from one disaster to another with our flights and getting through immigration - which caused us untold amounts of stress, but as soon as we arrived here at this hotel we were made to feel at ease and since then, we've had nothing but incredible experiences here. Check in was a breeze - we were greeted with a nice cold drink and a wet towell to refresh our faces after our 90 minute transfer to the hotel. We were checked in within minutes, no queueing - which is a great thing when you're going to a less touristic area of Phuket. Our bags were taken from us and we were shown to our room. Unfortunately due to disabilities we were unable to take the junior suite with sea view - we were told on booking that there is an elevator to the rooms, but we weren't told we would need to climb many steps first to even get to the elevator. Pim in reception understood our predicament and even though it wasn't the hotels fault, they upgraded our room to a sea view suite at a considerably reduced rate. Our room is absolutely stunning - spacious, modern, yet distinctly thai in it's decor. We have a lovely large balcony complete with day bed and chairs overlooking the Andaman sea. The room comes with a king size bed, stocked mini bar, cable TV, DVD player, walk-in rain fall shower, bath and lots of toiletries. These are cleaned and beds made daily. The staff - I can't heap enough praise on these people - I feel like anything I say will not do them and the service they give justice. We have travelled the world, been to some truly wonderful places, but we have never received service like this place. From the moment we checked in they made us feel so welcome and like family. Always a smile and you can not walk past one single member of staff without them saying Sawadeekah/kap, bowing to you and wanting to know about your day and you can see their interests are absolutely genuine. The whole team at the Café Andaman are especially amazing. I would like to give a special thank you to Jennifer, Assari, Bow and Joe. Joe was especially attentive when our oldest son got sick from the food market - she showed so much empathy and genuine concern for his well being and gave us advice and arranged for us to go to hospital to have him treated. This was an extremely distressing time for us, as he was really sick for two days in bed. On the first day he became sick we thought it was a 24hr bug and he could ride it out in bed, we notified reception our son was ill and we needed to go to the pharmacy, I popped back to the room 5 minutes later to find Pim and Jan from reception attending to our son's bedside with cold towels for his forehead, trying to bring his temperature down. This, to me, goes above and beyond what you would expect from a hotel and its staff. Our son still hasn't quite recovered fully, and yet during his sickness and after, the staff have gone out of their way to make sure he's OK and have offered to make food that isn't on the menu and then made sure it's been taken to his room. All for no extra charge. Café Andaman hosts breakfast and a variety to suit all tastes from around the world, from English, Chinese, Thai - everything - you're never stuck to find something different every morning. We've never been bored at breakfast. It also has a set menu for lunch with a choice of Thai or European food, and a different themed buffet night most nights. Top of the Reef serves Al la Carte/fine dining with either tables inside or outside, the latter having a lovely terrace overlooking the sea. Amp works her butt off here - running around like crazy and making sure everyone is well looked after and the service is of a very high standard. Bamboo bar serves lunch and cocktails right on the beach. I have to give a special shout out to the incredible Sandy, here. She is quite the force of nature and she has her team whipped into ship shape. Seriously, she's amazing and hilarious. Who knew a little Thai lady could be so commanding?! Our little boy is 11 years old and the staff adore him. He is trying to learn Thai and likes to great them and speak to them in thai. The ladies at reception come out from the behind the desk to talk with him and ask him about his day and what he's been doing. J on the watersports is an absolute character and always shouting "My friend!" At him and tries to teach him Muay Thai everytime he sees him, which our boy loves. The management here are nothing short of phenomenal - they always have time to talk to you and are very approachable. The private beach is stunning here - it's cleaned constantly. It's easily one of the most stunning beaches in Phuket. There is always a sun lounger available here. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus down to the village every 15 minutes which connects to their sister hotel Kantary bay which is at the bottom of the hill. Cape Panwa feels like the best kept secret in Phuket, so you'll find very few tourists here, but lots of locals enjoying the local street food market right on the waterfront on Panwa view point. There are a few restaurants and bars to choose from if you want to eat outside of the hotel, and there is also laundry service and a 7/11 right around the corner less than 3 minutes walking. With Cape Panwa, you get a relaxing holiday, but then a short taxi ride to all the action and attractions. You truly get the best of both worlds and get to experience all that Phuket has to offer. Unfortunately, we're booked to go to Krabi next year and we can't change it, but we're going to go home and book to come here for 2025 as soon as the dates become available; and we can't see ourselves going anywhere else again! It's truly THAT special. Thank you to everyone single member of staff that has made our stay so unbelievably memorable. Read less
