The hotel

Playing to its own beat, Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach is worthy of rock megastar status. The latest release from Hard Rock, International, its oceanfront pool could happily grace any music video, its R&R options would satiate any VIP, its Sessions restaurant has a celeb-style vibe, and its rooms are decked out with 50ˈˈ HDTVs (just don’t be tempted to throw yours out the window in ‘rock star’ style). This being a Hard Rock hangout, music pulses throughout – whether it’s the live band playing as your seafood cravings are satisfied at Wave Terrace, or the rhythmic massages at the Rock Spa® & Salon, where bass vibrations pulsate through your body for an energising lift. Even your room plays along, with the iconic Sounds of Your Stay program letting you jam to vinyl records on a Crosley turntable or rock out on a genuine Fender guitar.

My family decided to come to Daytona Beach before school comes back in. We researched hotels in the area and decided to stay at The Hard Rock hotel here. We saw different Hilton hotel properties for around half the price, but decided to splurge for something nicer considering the Hard Rock hotel brand and what we thought it would be. Least said we were underwhelmed. We have discussed this with other hotel guests to discover they share the same thoughts on the subject. A few things to note: 1) at first we booked the oceanfront suite, but after consideration we decided to change it to the courtyard suite to have just a little more space with our 2 boys. It turned out to be pretty much the same size. Also the room decor is not representative of what we thought the Hard rock brand would bring. Almost no decor in the room. It is just bare and plain. 2)From our research of this property we thought there would be a lot of music and activity on the property for us and our boys to enjoy. There really was not really any. The pool is OK., but very small considering the number of rooms here. Very packed and at times too crowded to use. Beach was nice. 3) Whichever company was in charge of promoting this property did do a good job. They painted this property to be a high activity along with a huge guitar shaped pool that dwarfed in size to the way it is portrayed on their site. 4) Parking was dangerous. It is across the street with no crosswalk to get to the property. We felt like we were in a live game of frogger trying to get to the property from the parking lot. It also seems like for the amount they are charging for the rooms, self parking across the street would not be an additional $20 per day. 5) employees were nice and the beds are comfortable. Long story short we thought we were spending the extra money here to get above and beyond and did not get what we thought we were paying the Extra for. It has not been horrible but not gratifying either. If we come back to the area we would consider staying here if there was some kind of 50 percent off flash sale. If not we will try our luck at the Hilton properties and compare the difference Read less

Roaches in the daytime crawling in the bar - restaurant side. No place to walk the dog and they charge big for a pup. Check in no help with luggage. No one was in the bar and the lady bar keep was in no hurry to wait on me. Hot 🥵 in the restaurant because door to pool and outdoor space was constantly opened.

Don't expect any entertainment. Make sure you get your drinks before going to the hotel. Also, be prepared to cross a busy street to get from the parking lot to the hotel entrance.

Love this hotel, fabulous view, fabulous food at Sessions. I had the rigatoni and my girl had the mac and cheese. Both were exquisite. Our server Gigi was amazing and fun, and took such good care of us on a special birthday celebration. Cosmopolitans were on point. 10 out of 10.
