This hotel is in a great location. The pool area is unique - rooftop (mid-level) right across from the beach. The cafe/store onsite is well stocked. Walking distance to many restaurants and beach is right across the street.

We stayed at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort in a two bedroom suite with wrap around balcony. I was impressed when Mr. Obema called me the day before we arrived to ask if he could be if any assistance. When we arrived, Mark the bellman couldn’t have been better. He’s a star employee. Checkin was awesome! Checkin (Erika/Anthony also star employees) was a breeze and the staff was over the top welcoming to us and especially our kids. The pool area is top notch. The service is slow and if you tip 75% or 15% you’ll get the same slow and sometimes nonexistent service. It’s hard to get good food/restaurant service these days so it’s kind of something I’ve come to expect. The room was the perfect size for a family of 4. Around 1200sqft with great views. The room was a bit dated. One of the two reasons I may stay elsewhere like the Conrad next door which looks updated and nice. The only issue we had with the a specific employee was with Shane the Bellman when we checked out. I called down to get a cart and nobody ever came. I went to the long and he said “I’ll send one of my Minions up” and dismissed me. I asked if he needed my name or room number and he said to leave it at the concierge and he’d get to it when he gets to it. Ok, no problem?? ? We waited 15 minutes and even nobody came I made 6 trips down to load the car. Honestly, there’s absolutely no way I’d have Shane as an employee interacting with my clients. As a lifetime Diamond staying at Hilton properties 90+ nights a year, I’ve never been treated like that and it was very surprising. Maybe his parents kicked him out if their basement or something and he was having a bad day? Read less

The hotel neglected to tell us that construction outside our room started at 7:30am each day. We spent a great deal of time in our room contacting cruise line and airlines so we appreciated the extra room and the renovations but could not enjoy the wrap around balcony due to the noise. We did enjoy the pool area for a couple of hours on our last full day. Did not go to the beach across the road as it was extremely busy with people. The hotel front desk staff and restaurant staff were excellent. The hotel also offers water bottles at the front desk, nice touch. Overall we liked the hotel but due to covid 19 we were stressed instead of relaxed...not the hotels fault. Read less

I stayed 3 nights at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort in early March before the coronavirus lockdown everywhere. I was upgraded to a top floor corner balcony room with a small kitchnette. I have stayed at this hotel many times before and noted that the decor in my top floor room was very different than in the rooms in my past stays. The decor was much more clean and modern with pale wood look floors. Even the elevator lobby on the floor was different. It seems the top 5 floors or so are renovated with this new decor whereas the lower floors look like they have not been changed. My room had a small balcony with a couple of chairs and wrapped around a bit to the front for a better view of the beach and water. Unfortunately, it was very windy throughout my stay so the waves were too rough for getting in the water. In fact, it was so windy, I could hear the wind and the waves in bed at night. The hotel itself has been around for a long time so it is a bit noticeable that sound proofing from the corridor is not very good and I could hear whenever a louder group was moving through the hallway. My room had a side armchair, a worktable and a kitchenette with a mini fridge, stovetop and microwave. The bathroom had a jetted tub and a separate shower. Facilities include a fitness with an OK selection of equipment, and a large pool on the 6th floor with reservable cabanas around the pool. The hotel is right across the road from the beach so had the weather been better, it would have been an ideal location for a beach vacation. There are many other hotels and condominium towers along the street with many restaurant options close by. The great location though is definitely reflected in the pricing so the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is definitely one of the most expensive Hilton group offerings in the area, together with its next door neighbour the Conrad. Room cleaning is quite slow. I was out for 4 or 5 hours and my room was still not cleaned yet so I ended up letting front desk know each day when I went out so they would clean the room by the time I am back. One of the best things about the Hilton is its great concierge Vicki Brandt. She is wonderfully efficient at arranging restaurant reservations and a source of all kinds of information about the city and the area. Read less
