My husband and I stayed here for 9 nights with our son and his family. We had a lot of problems with getting our registration correct. Our original reservation was made in august of 2019 for a February of 2020 stay. When we double checked several days before our arrival the accommodations were not correct but, I thought we cleared it up - when we actually checked in it was incorrect again and took over an hour to fix. Once we were in our rooms we were happy: clean, spacious and comfortable (except for the sofa bed which the children used). The full kitchen did not have a toaster (hotel policy we were told) and no dishes, etc, but some were brought when requested. The large deck off the main 1 bedroom suite was great except for the pile of cigarette and cigar butts in the corner and the cracked flooring. My daughter in law did say the daily housekeeping was rather light: dirty dishes wee not loaded into the dishwasher, counters were not wiped down, etc. Also, WiFi/internet connection was awful - had to go to lobby on first floor. It was VERY apparent the front desk needed to be staffed with more people- this is a VERY busy hotel and most of the time there were significant waits. Now the great: we stayed on the 6th floor which is the floor for the pool, fitness center and a main restaurant- all great. It was so nice to go out our room door and just walk (not far) to all 3. The pool is perfect for children (no real deep end, nice pool toys, warm water) and well staffed. Fitness center is large, clean and has a good selection of equipment. The restaurant (Ilios) is well laid out and food selection is good and everything was well prepared. I loved the breakfast buffet because children under 5 ate free and I could take my 2 granddaughters there for breakfast and they could choose their food (wonderful choices) and grandma could order off the menu or get the buffet. The BEACH is fantastic! You do have to cross a very busy street to get to it but there are crosswalks with traffic light controls so that helps. With the daily resort fee you get beach towels and 2 lounge chairs but have to pay extra for an umbrella. You definitely will want to use Uber (or other taxi like rides) - there are lots of hotel restaurants or a few independent ones within walking distance but many we wanted to try were not walkable even though not far away. One last comment: the staff throughout the hotel and beach were all very nice and accommodating even when things were stressful which I appreciated. Read less

I am a Hilton Diamond member and my wife and I were traveling with our family to celebrate both our 5th wedding anniversary and my wife’s birthday. Due to the special occasion, I had called a number of times in advance of our stay to request an upgrade to a larger suite. Upon check-in, I again requested an upgrade to an oceanfront suite but was told we would have to pay $100/night in order to get an oceanfront suite. Considering the special occasion and my Diamond status, this was both surprising and disappointing. I ultimately agreed to pay the extra $100/night for the oceanfront suite and, although the views of the ocean were amazing, the suite itself was extremely worn and dated. As shown in my pictures, there were can lights hanging from the ceiling and the lamps and dishwasher had rust on them. I was using Hilton points as a reward stay and I honestly would have been ok with the room being so worn if I wasn’t paying an extra $100/night on top of the 70k points per night. Although the condition of the suite was disappointing and the extra fees were frustrating, my family did still manage to have a great vacation. Tamas Vago, the general manager, was extremely kind to me and my family and he helped increase the quality of our experience. My wife and I agreed that we would love to come back to the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort once room upgrades are complete and the construction next door is finished. Read less

Our first impression of this property made us so mad , we arrived after a long car ride , valet parking attended was friendly, but ad soon as we got into the lobby, we noticed a long time to check in , I asked the bell service attendant, where is the DIAMOND/Gold member line to check in ? Response was , they don’t have one ! Really ? After 10 minutes on line , I spoke with Anthony who was friendly, Thanked us for being Diamond members and upgraded us to the next level room , but he then responded , I’m sorry but the room isn’t quite ready yet , I said no problem we will get something to eat and I’ll be back in one hour , he said ok , No problem. Before we left the desk , Anthony gave us some complimentary cards for Starbucks coffee and cookies for the children. Upon our return ,once again we waited on a long line this time to be told again by a nasty blond female with no name tag and a euro accent , your room is still not ready ! She stated we have your number , we will call you when it’s finally ready , my temperament was starting to change, with this hotel, now after 3 hours of waiting in the hotel lobby as a DIAMOND member and seeing others get their room , I cut the line and went right to the front desk and we interacted with Andy and Wilmer they did the right thing!! I explained to them 3 hours to get our room ? This is how Diamond members are treated at this location? They were very attentive and professional! Got us into a beautiful room with full living room with king size bed with a beautiful view , this is when our attitude changed for the better , breakfast on the 6th floor was great , Cory was professional and we spoke for a while before eating, but ESTER was THE best ! We love her! She’s one beautiful lady ! Ester did more then half the work waitress on duty did ! She treated my children like A king and queen , this is what service should be like ! Please share this post with her ! The pool was also nice and clean and the pool service employees were on point ! Luis was a pleasure to talk with , he was very knowledgeable about the property, we even spoke about the sales of apartments in the building, Maybe next year . Jennifer was aces also , it was my son’s birthday on our last day using the pool, Jennifer actually came out with a huge piece of chocolate cake and came over with another employee and sang happy birthday to my son , he was so excited he was being noticed for his birthday. We definitely had a blast, at this location. So sometimes first impressions are wrong , so go with the flow , things only get better .... thank you Hilton for a great 5 day stay ! Read less

I would like to give a special shout-out to Ryan the bartender. He was amazing and could handle a crowd @ the bar all by himself while at the same time covering orders for the pool. Also, Angel & Shannon were great bartenders too. They were all so friendly and made it fun to hang out there. Elvira was our server every morning for breakfast and she was awesome!!!! Even though we chose the buffet everyday, she was always checking to see if there was anything we needed. EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!! Overall we loved this hotel and enjoyed our beautiful remodeled room with a large wrap around balcony with great views. Cannot wait to return!!!! Read less

Spent 1 night using points and we got the smallest room in the house. Looking at the floor plan we were tucked away in the back. Had a nice canal view but no balcony. There are two rooms on each floor with no balconies. The room was newly refurbished however a bit bland, walls and floor were the same tone of tan, no art work on the walks, which I normally don’t notice until it’s not there. The tile floor looked nice, but could be noisy at times, we could hear our neighbors wheeling their luggage around their room. Needs an area rug in the room to dampen the noise. The bed was a bit firm for my liking, but the room was clean and fresh. The bathroom was good size with plenty of counter space, our room had a tub/shower combo. Water pressure was strong and towels were plush. At the lobby level, there is a Starbucks and small pizza/ice cream shop. We had coffee and desserts, the service was very attentive and prices were reasonable. Outside seating is available. The pool and hot tub were on the 6th floor with views of the beach across the street, due to the weather we were unable to use the pool facilities, but it appeared to have ample chairs and shaded areas. Throughout your stay you can get free bottles of water at reception, which was a nice touch. Plus, since this was point stay the resort fee was waived. Since it was only one night, the room was adequate, but if I was staying longer, I would opt for a larger room with a balcony. Read less
