The hotel

Set on the sands in Fort Lauderdale, the Pelican Grand Beach Resort is a perfect paradise. You can spend your days on the white-sand beach, floating around in the lazy river and zero-entry pool, and tasting the delicious seafood and ice creams. Your room has been decorated with the ocean in mind, and is a real retreat for you to return to. And when the evenings roll in, you can take a moment, and sit on one of the rocking chairs overlooking the beach with the soothing sound of the ocean waves rolling in the background.

Where is it

Directly on Fort Lauderdale Beach, overlooking a 500ft stretch of private beach. 3.5 miles from the dining and nightlife on Las Olas Boulevard. Transfer time from Miami International Airport: 45 minutes.

156 rooms. All with air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, tea/coffee-making facilities, hairdryer, alarm/clock radio, safe, iron and ironing board. 

City Lights Rooms are 480 sq ft and have views of Fort Lauderdale, with 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Ocean View Rooms are 510 sq ft and have views of the Atlantic Ocean, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 people.

Seaside Suites are 632 sq ft and have a private balcony with views panoramic ocean views, a separate living room with loveseat sofa bed, and 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 3 adults and 2 children.

Superior Seaside Suites are as above, but are located on floors 9-11 with unbeatable ocean views, an enhanced beach experience including reserved lounge chairs, towels, umbrella and bottled water, with 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 3 adults and 2 children.

Valet parking $48 plus tax, per day (payable locally, subject to change). Bus stop outside the hotel for no.11 buses, taking you up Ocean Boulevard to other Fort Lauderdale beaches.

We went for my mother’s 80th birthday and had an amazing time! Daina was so kind and took great care of us from check-in to check-out. The views are spectacular and the rooms super comfy and clean. The beds are low enough I don’t have to climb on furniture to get in! The lazy river was super fun and the zero depth entry pool made it accessible for my mom. Their restaurant, Ocean2000, was incredible. The seafood risotto with truffle oil was delicious, and Mom really enjoyed her lamb chops. Great food and we loved the ambiance with the light-up menus and elegant candles and low lights to protect the sea turtle nests. We hope to make it a tradition to stay every year on Moms birthday! I am surprised by all the positive reviews. I came here for a work trip because of the lazy river, to enjoy some time between meetings. We had a beach view room with the most beautiful balcony and I think it might just be the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in ever. We were thoroughly spoilt and so well looked after while we were there. Maria A and Blanca Q in the shop were fantastic every morning when we went to pick up our daily coffee, so friendly and lovely to chat too, they were so welcoming and we felt like we really got know them. The service we received from Carlos in the restaurant was incredible, he gave amazing recommendations for wine and food and was so friendly and gave us the best service, making sure we had everything we needed and more. Wow, and the food was unbelievably tasty, I had the sea food risotto and my husband had the tomahawk pork chop. 😍 The staff on reception were always super helpful, but I’d like to shout out Lam who was the most helpful and managed to sort us out a late check out and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and relaxed before our late night 8 hour flight home! Nothing was too much trouble for him and it obviously that he really cared! The best experience at the grand pelican beach hotel, we were so sad to leave! I came here for a birthday celebration, and it was a great experience! The ambiance was beautiful and the food was even better. Carlos C was our server and I couldn’t have asked for better service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as well as the server!

Went to ocean 2000 and had an amazing birthday dinner with Carlos as out server, we sat outside at one of the dune tables and had an incredible view of the ocean and the waves crashing on the sand. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a nice high end dining experience.
