Due to COVID we had to cancel our international honeymoon so we ended up booking Pelican based on the raving reviews. It really wasn’t anything special. Being told it was an oasis and there’d be a quiet area for us, when really the whole hotel was full of screaming children. The cleaning service didn’t clean our room at all. We never got new towels or our trash taken. Our first room was very dirty and we paid so much for so little. There are MANY extra charges not included in the fine print of booking. Overall, if you’re looking for an oasis to get away from the hustle and a quiet clean retreat, this ain’t your place. Plus the restaurant wasn’t all hyped up, food was stupid expensive and really not good. Who in the world charges $5 per shrimp for a shrimp cocktail?! Read less

Had a wonderful stay, pool service by Brian Brown was awesome. Very attentive and Highly recommend for a staycation. Worth the trip for a getaway weekend or for your vacation. They were observing covid-19 social distancing. Glad we made the trip.

Stayed at Pelican grand for staycation over 4th of July weekend and give Brian B of pool staff was amazing! Very friendly and very attentive to guests. It was very crowded and Brian was great at making sure guests could get a spot at the pool since the beaches were closed due to covid.

Want to give a shout out to Brian Brown. I was with my wife and two kids at the pool for three days. The guy never stopped! Always taking care of the customers, cleaning the area, providing food/drink/towels/helpful information. He made everything a fantastic experience. Thanks Brian.

I would say 3* hotel but with the best food!!! nice beach and friendly stuff. Property itself is old and outdated; it doesn't have the boutique feel at all. Ocean views are nice, that kind of rooms are spacious too! Slow internet when you are uploading stuff.
