Riverside Hotel

Fort Lauderdale, Gold Coast Beaches

Virgin rating

The hotel

Full of Old Florida charm, the Spanish tile floors and and overhead fans means that this classic hotel fits in well within the Cuban feel of Las Olas Boulevard. The road is the forefront of everything from restaurants to fashion boutiques, art galleries to bars - so it's a great alternative to the oceanfront hotels of Fort Lauderdale, and the beach is still only a 10 minute drive away! There's a wide variety of dining options available within the hotel too - with Wild Sea featuring an impressive raw bar and a creative seafood menu, all of which can be enjoyed whilst watching the yachts sail down the river. The Golden Lyon Pub and Preston's Wine and Martini Lounge both offer happy hours for a pre-dinner tipple too. If you're not planning to spend much time in your room, the Micro room offers value for money, but upgrading will give you more space to relax in for families.

Great service. Great location. Exceptional fitness center and on-site dining options. Great value for the area. Clean rooms and attentive staff. The only negative was that I stayed in the older half of the property, and the rooms could use a fresh coat of paint and some updates.

Booked this hotel on the recommendation of a friend who has been several times. It’s a mixed review as we had a couple of issues. Location - can’t fault it. In the heart of the action and near to all the lovely restaurants and coffee shops. Looks like there going to be a refresh of the hotel based on posters displayed in the hotel. We arrived early after disembarking from a two week cruise. Advised to leave luggage and check in later - not a problem. Lovely xmas tree was up and there was a nice feel about the reception area with the Xmas decorations. Unfortunately we missed the xmas on Las Olas event which was being held on 28th. It looked as if it was going to be awesome. At check in I asked for a nice, quiet room as we had gone through several time changes on the cruise from Barcelona and sleeping hadn’t been that good. I think he misheard me as he allocated us room 221. Second floor, directly above the valet parking area. Looking out over the large green valet canopy. It’s also directly opposite the ice making machine - so noisy, especially late at night. It’s also located at the lift and the housekeepers cupboard. Noise is constant throughout the night and early in the morning when the two housekeepers are talking / shouting. In summary, this room is probably the worst room in the hotel. If I had been there for more than 2 nights I would’ve asked to be moved. You have been warned. Read less

Love this hotel and it is the only place we stay when we travel to Ft Lauderdale. We love the location, convenience and ease The only complaint is the piano in the hotel bar - it is definitely not background music. It makes it hard to even have a conversation. Other than that - it is fantastic!!

We have stayed here before and it is our favourite hotel. The location is excellent: walking distance to lots of restaurants, Starbucks, pastry shop across the street, Cheesecake factory right there as well as the water taxi right there. Has a lovely pool and bar and restaurant as well.
