Property is beautiful. Room was comfortable and clean. . However, the cleaning staff kept storing my straightener in the drawer with the hairdryer, which I did not want it in there. When I left, I did not think to look in that drawer to remember to pick up my straightener left it there. Was charged $45 to have it mailed to me. The hotel should’ve been more responsive about being partially responsible for the straightener being left behind as it was removed from the spot that I had put it on top of the sink, which I would’ve seen when I left and not left it behind. Guest relations did not take any form of responsibility for the situation either. Read less

I had the worst stay at this hotel and let me preference by saying I have stayed here before and the quality was amazing first go around. This trip was horrendous. I came here for a vacation and was not made aware that because a wedding was being held here during the same time, that the guests come second to a wedding. I brought my tripod and small digital camera to take a few pictures of myself, nothing that should be out of the ordinary. I was taking pictures by their spa in front of a hedge..a security guard came up to me saying I was not allowed to be taking photos on a “professional” camera with a tripod and was told to get manager approval..I was floored. I went to the front desk and some ignorant front desk clerk told me that I was only allowed to take pictures on my iPhone and not a small digital camera. He was useless and his reasoning made absolutely no sense, I should’ve got his name to honestly report him. I asked him if I could speak to someone else and his response was they will just tell you the same thing..I called customer service from my room. Bri the assistant manager “assisted” me. She told me that there is an “exclusive wedding” at the hotel so getting approval to take pictures would be difficult…I am again floored. My response was how in the world does a wedding give merit over another paying guest taking pictures of herself where no wedding is to be found at the time of said pictures being taken, that’s where my frustration was. This hotel is putting propriety of a wedding that hasn’t even happened yet, which mind you I was no where near a wedding and I saw not one wedding guest outside, it has been raining all day. She asked what I was taking photos of, the property? I said no, I was taking photos of myself in front of a hedge near the spa outside..even if I was taking photos remotely near someone’s wedding why is that anyone’s business but my own? Won’t other guests have their iPhones taking photos of themselves and maybe even the wedding? So why am I being singled out for having a small digital camera and a tripod, can someone please tell me the difference because make it make sense, it doesn’t. If I knew this would be a concern, there’s no way I would’ve wasted my money staying at this hotel. The hotel guests should be made aware that no digital camera tripod photos can be taken at this hotel if there is a wedding, point blank period. She asked how long I would be staying at the hotel, I said 3 days, she said that this wedding was taking place the next day and that I would not be allowed any photos at all the day of, I didn’t feel the need to continue planning out time slots of when I could take photos the next day after the wedding merely because now this ordeal has ruined my entire stay here. She did give me a merely 2 hour time slot to get my tripod and small digital camera out to take maybe 10 pictures of myself the day before the wedding and that she would have to make the entire staff aware of this which in turn caused me embarrassment. My husband attended a conference that we attend annually at the Breakers. We generally do not stay as we have a place nearby. The hotel itself is beautiful, impressive, and meticulously maintained. Kudos to housekeeping. My understanding is the conference rooms provide an ideal setting for presentations, with good acoustics and high-end technology. One day, I came prior to the night's festivities and had lots of open area common space options, both inside and outside. We thoroughly enjoyed the cocktail parties and the dinner dance over the three nights. The food is outstanding, matched by the attentive and professional service! One can't say enough great things about the staff. Two servers, in particular, stood above, O'Leary and Rachelle. After the first cocktail party, I stopped by the front desk to ask if their supervisors could notified of how pleased we were with their service. I'm not sure if the compliments were trickled down to both O'Leary and Rachelle. The food presentation, whether hors d'oeuvres at the cocktail parties or the dinner dance, they were beautifully plated, visually enticing, and delectable!!! We are already looking forward to next year's conference! Read less

After reading some of the reviews I was wondering, but the property turned out to be both comforting and fascinating. The service in housekeeping and food service was thorough and professional. The room appeared to have gone through a recent renovation, and was very well appointed. They are now offering free rides through town using Mercedes electric SUV's and also has a shuttle on continues loops. Beach was excellent as pool, food cocktail service there. If you can get a rate that appears reasonable given the neighborhood pricing, go for it! Read less
