The room was huge and had a full kitchen which was wonderful especially since the food at the hotel was terrible!! We tried both restaurants at the hotel and both were overpriced and the food was poor quality. The beach was packed, the pool was packed, and there was super loud music playing until midnight outside of our room. I feel like we overpaid tremendously since we didn’t eat at the restaurants and we couldn’t get a chair at the pool. However, the hotel was clean and the concierge was super helpful. We had a great time exploring the area and ate at some fabulous restaurants. I would definitely recommend Clearwater Beach but I would not recommend the Hyatt Regency. Read less

This is a very nice hotel, we have no complaints about the interiors, staff or service. The restaurants are hella- pricey but lots of options within walking distance. The only disappointment was the beach- which is the main reason we came to clearwater. One must cross a street to get onto a very public beach, where you can literally reach out and touch the people sitting on either side of you. Cabana and chair rental starts at 40 dollars, and lousy service from those guys. They have a thousand people renting cabanas, so why would they bother to be pleasant, carry over an extra chair, or try to find you one on a busy day? I would never stay here again for these reasons. Dates of Stay: Saturday, 4/13/19 - Sunday, 4/14/19 Total Nights: 1 In a nutshell, the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach is the best possible place to stay in Clearwater Beach! It offers exceptional staff along with accommodations in recently renovated modern and extremely spacious guest rooms! All of that combined with a perfect location and AMAZING views of the Gulf of Mexico and the Sunset makes the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach a must-stay for your next trip to the region! Now, for my detailed review: First and foremost, I have to say that the Hyatt Regency Clearwater has always been a favorite; we have stayed here on a few occasions in the past but have not had a chance to visit it recently. After a complete renovation of all guest rooms and public spaces, it seemed liked the perfect time to return and we were most certainly not disappointed in anyway -- this property shines like a new jewel among the many aging properties in Clearwater Beach! As for location, the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach is centrally located, just steps from the Gulf of Mexico and from Clearwater's famous Pier 60. Within walking distance along the beach, you will find numerous amazing eateries and shops, as well as the marina and pier for all of the amazing water adventures that Clearwater has to offer. Plus, being a high-rise property located directly across from the Gulf of Mexico, the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach offers some of the most amazing views that you could ever ask for! To get to this property, if flying in, you can easily hop a Lyft/Uber ride-share service from the Tampa International Airport, which is around 30-minutes from the property. Additionally, the smaller St. Pete/Clearwater Airport is about 20-minutes away, but less airlines fly there making Tampa International your best bet. You can also easily arrange Super Shuttle or ExecuCar service to the property from either airport or rent a car if you so chose as the property is quite easy to drive to. Just note, however, if you chose to rent or drive to the property, this is a beach-front property and like all such properties in Florida, parking is at a premium. Your options for parking include Self-Parking at $25/day or Valet Parking at $29/day. The Self-Parking Garage is attached to the property and is very easy to use, but for the small difference in price, you may wish to consider Valet Parking. You will find the Valet Attendants to be super-attentive and you will never have a long wait for your car! Regardless of how you get to the property, you enter into a two-story lobby that feels modern and new; the recent renovations are truly beautiful, and incorporate a natural Florida feel, complete with beautiful driftwood artwork adorning the top of the lobby. If you Valet Park, you enter the main lobby on the first floor from Coronado Drive. If you Self Park, you will take an elevator from the attached parking garage down to the second floor, where you will exit and walk through the upper level of the lobby, offering views of the driftwood art and then head down to the first floor for check-in. As for your check-in experience, you will find it to be quick and easy as the front desk is always staffed by extremely friendly agents willing to assist you. When we arrived, we were greeted and thanked for being return guests. We were told that our room was not yet ready -- as we checked in around 10 am -- but that our poolside cabana was ready and waiting for us (more on that later). The agent explained the property and recent renovations to us, along with a reminder of the resort fee and its inclusions. Then, within a matter of moments, our check-in was complete and we were on our way to our cabana for an amazing day by the pool! As for the Resort Fee -- yes, this property is a Florida "resort" property located on the beach, as such, like all other similar properties, a Resort Fee is imposed. At the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach, the Resort Fee is just $32 and change after taxes, and it includes a wide range of amenities, such as: -A "welcome drink" upon arrival (a glass of cool and tasty sparking wine) -Two (2) bottles of water placed in your room fridge each day -24/7 access to a decent business center and excellent Hyatt StayFit Gym -A nightly in-room movie; provided free of charge each evening to every room -Poolside activities, crafts & games for families to enjoy -A professional photo on the beach or around the hotel by JPEG -A pool snack served each day around 2pm (usually very tasty gelato/ice cream) -Reduced rentals for "Fun Ride" Rentals -Self-service laundry All-in-all, a very reasonable fee for such a wide variety of inclusions. And, this fee is in line with -- if not cheaper than -- many similar properties throughout Florida! Also, a note on check-in; the check-in time at this property is 4pm. As it is an extremely popular hotel due to its beach-front location, early check-in should not be expected. However, if you arrive early, you will be welcomed with open arms and allowed access to the property's pool, located on the 8th floor. The pool deck offers stunning views along with a "Swim," which is an excellent poolside restaurant and bar. So, if you do arrive early, the Front Desk will gladly store your luggage and you can get right into relaxing by the beach or the pool. For another early-arrival option, this property offers some of the finest private cabana rentals that you will ever find. Wrapping around the pool, you will find what are essentially tiny guest rooms, complete with a half bath, a sofa, a/c and a flat-screen television. For a cost of $99/day for resort guests, you can rent one of these amazing cabanas and have access to it from 8a-8p; so, if you plan on arriving early, you may wish to contact the property and pre-book one of these cabanas so that when you arrive, you can immediately have a place to rest and relax poolside while waiting on your room. Please note that cabanas are very limited, so if you are interested, I highly recommend calling the property directly to book in advance! Honestly, the cabanas at this property are one of our favorite features, and every time we stay here, we rent one. That way, we can easily arrive early in the morning and have a relaxing haven throughout the day until our room is ready. The cabanas all have a sliding glass door that opens out onto a private patio along the pool deck. The patio contains two lounge chairs and a small dining table with four chairs. It will be set up with ample towels, two bottles of water and two specialty drink glasses which you can use to get drinks at a small discount. All-in-all, a true poolside haven that makes the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach a unique and special property! After check-in, we took the lobby elevators up to the 8th Floor and quickly settled into our cabana where we spent the entire day relaxing poolside. The pool at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach is nestled on the 8th Floor of the high-rise complex, with the property built in u-shape around the pool. This brilliant design allows for beautiful views of the pool and the Gulf from many of the property's rooms, and also allows for spectacular poolside views of the Gulf from its terrace. Additionally, being located on the 8th Floor, you very frequently get a great breeze which keeps the pool deck cool in the hot Florida sun. If you do not rent a cabana, the pool and its terrace are filled with ample lounge chairs and each chair is equipped with a raise-up flag to signal to any of the pool servers that you would like a quick drink. Additionally, to help you stay hydrated, there are hydration stations where you can grab a quick drink of cool water throughout the day -- a truly welcome feature in the Florida summers! All-in-all, a perfectly heavenly spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful views and the Florida sun! Should you be more of a beach person, you can walk out of the property on the Gulf side and cross the street to Clearwater Beach -- consistently rated by TripAdvisor as the top beach in the country. Beautiful white sand and amazing views! At the beach you will find the ability to rent beach chairs, umbrellas and cabanas; these are not rented by the property but instead the City of Clearwater, as this is a public beach. However, it is very easy to rent right on the beach and allow for a very relaxing beach day! As for dining on property, you have multiple options and should never go hungry! First, while relaxing poolside, you have access to "Swim" which is the property's pool bar and restaurant. It is open every day from 11am until Sunset, and it offers excellent service either at the bar or poolside. You will find a selection of tasty items for lunch and dinner, as well as various signature tropical drinks that are not to be missed. I would highly recommend the Cuban Sandwich; you are in Tampa, so don't miss out on an excellent Tampa Cuban Sandwich! "Swim" is truly one of the best poolside bars in the area and it will keep you well fed and hydrated throughout a relaxing pool day! Next, the property's signature dining can be found at "Shor," which is found on the Second floor, also offering excellent Gulf views. It is open each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each morning for breakfast you will find a excellent and reasonably priced buffet. For lunch or dinner, you will find numerous amazing options -- don't miss out on the signature Lobster Club, as it is amazing! "Shor" also provides a to-go/room-service menu in each room, so if you want to relax and enjoy a casual dinner from your room, this would be a great option. And, the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach is dedicated to protecting its marine environment; as such, your room-service order will be delivered in environmentally friendly packaging. It is great to see a property truly devoted to maintaining the beauty of the surrounding area! Just outside of the main dining area at "Shor" you will find "Skimmers," which is an excellent bar staffed throughout the day. It offers great appetizers, local cold beer and an amazing assortment of specialty cocktails. Finally, the property has recently added the "Market" which is open every day from 6am until 10pm; it offers a variety of grab-and-go items, beverages and snacks, as well as a Starbucks. Perfect to grab something quick in the morning or to take up to your room. All-in-all, the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach offers plenty of dining options so you should never go hungry. In addition, all rooms at this property offer kitchen amenities; the property was originally designed to be condos prior to the Hyatt acquisition, so each room is equipped with a full kitchenette, to include microwave, fridge (either full-size or mini) along with a cook-top and all the utensils needed. So, should you wish to order-in from another local vendor or even cook your own meals, that is also an option which makes this property truly unique! Finally, as for the rooms at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach, they are truly spectacular and are some of the most spacious and well-equipped that you will find in a hotel in the area. As I said, the property was original designed to be condos, so the rooms at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach are all extremely spacious and over-sized; in fact, the "rooms" average in size at a whopping 600-square feet with the "suites" being even larger. And, all rooms at this property offer some view of the beach and Gulf from their large balconies, which is another feature unique to it! We opted for a 1 King Gulf Front Terrace Suite, which is around 900-square feet of room but offers a massive 600-square foot Terrace with sweeping views of the Gulf; truly one of the best rooms around! As you enter into the Terrace Suite, you find a full bathroom to one side of the entry, featuring an oversized vanity and a deep soaking tub with shower. As you proceed further, you find the full kitchen, featuring a large countertop with three tall bar stools, a large sink with garbage disposal, a dishwasher, full size fridge/freezer, a cook top and a Keurig. Just off of the kitchen is a large dining area with a table for six so that you all can relax and enjoy a meal in your suite. Across from the kitchen is a large sitting area, complete with an extremely comfortable sectional sofa that pulls out into a bed. That sectional has an unheard of feature for a hotel sectional -- it actually has power outlets, both plug and USB -- so that you can charge your devices while relaxing. The living area also has a computer/work desk equipped with ample outlets and a beautiful new 65-inch Samsung high-definition television equipped with on-demand movies and on-screen guide. Behind this television you will find the bedroom, featuring another large high-definition television, an extremely comfortable King bed and a large balcony over-looking the pool. The master bathroom is just off of this bedroom, featuring a large dual-vanity, a separate toilet room and a massive walk-in shower. It is equipped with plush over-sized towels and the Hyatt's new line of Pharmacopia bath products. Finally, the best aspect of the Terrace Suite is, of course, the 600-square foot Terrace that overlooks the Gulf; it offers lounge chairs, a dining table and truly spectacular views of Clearwater Beach and the Gulf and its magnificent sunsets each night. Truly, one of the best hotel Terraces that you will ever find. All-in-all, the rooms and suites at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach are unrivaled and should not be missed! In conclusion, the Hyatt Regency Clearwater truly is the jewel of Clearwater Beach and should not be missed! With its extremely spacious rooms, all offering amazing views, and its stellar pool and dining, the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach truly is the property you should stay at on your next visit to the region!
