Great hotel and great service. Valet service made getting in and out of hotel for dinner easy. Room was super clean. Food and service at pool bar was great. Kids activities at the pool were a plus. We arrived om a Saturday about 5:30 and were welcomed warmly at valet, the front desk, and bag service. We were delighted with our clean, spacious 2 bedroom suite with patio and beautiful ocean views. Took an hour or so to rest and then headed to the pool. (We could see from our room when we arrived that it was VERY busy & loud.) At 7:30 pm we got to the pool, finding the crowd thinned out, but there were no towels and the towel service counter had a “closed” sign out. Also the pool area ... pretty filthy. It appeared there wasn’t enough staff to have kept it clean or do a major cleanup now that crowds have lessened. 🤷‍♀️ Idk, but it kind of surprising to us that Hyatt isn’t putting forth more effort in this area. This just isn’t acceptable to me. A couple other things to mention... when we arrived, my daughter leaned her forehead on the sliding glass door (under a large covered roof patio area) to look outside and literally burned her forehead. I kind of took this with a grain of salt (although I did feel the window and it was SUPER hot). The next morning she had burn marks on her head that took a week to scab over and heal. To be fair, I did not mention this to management, but a warning sticker of some kind would be a good idea. The burns could have been so much worse. Also, the housekeeping was hit or miss. One day they made up one bed and not the other. We ran the dishwasher with the soap pack and it was never replaced. They left the full can of trash under the sink but took the bag of grocery sacks we were keeping under the sink. All-in-all the staff was very friendly and we would stay again given the convenience of location and price for a clean suite. The quick walk across tiny street to get on the beach was minimal. I walked down to the Sand Pearl and was happy we hadn’t bothered with the extra expense... their pool was not to my liking and the place felt very closed off and removed from the beach anyway. (The hotel that was there before was laid out so wonderfully with a big open pool & I had heard from others that the new one was not as great.) So if you are debating based on being “literally on the beach” as opposed to crossing the small street, I wouldn’t make that a deciding factor. The sand area is wide, it takes a couple of mins to get to the water’s edge either way. And staying in a hotel means you are likely to rent a beach umbrella anyway which will then be yours for the day. Read less

Did not swim but did check out the pool it looked nice and the pool area was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Did not eat at on site hotel but it did look appealing. Only thing I didn’t like was the parking garage. Everyone visiting the beach has access and it became very crowded. Also we have a large truck and getting in and out of the garage was scary...tiny twisty ramp...I did not think we would make it. Read less

The Good: Great location! Located near restaurants, shopping, and activities. All within walking distance. Hotel was nice. Very close to the beach and pool was nice. This hotel could be a 4-41/2 star hotel if they could focus more on cleaning. The Bad: Room was not clean. Lack of cleanliness all around. Our room looked like it had not been vacuumed or mopped since they opened. Stains in the carpet. Hair left in the shower. Bathroom walls could use a big wiping down. Management or staff could be a little more informative. Our first night there, we were awoke by fire alarms going off at 2:30am. Evacuated our room walked 11 flights of stairs with children. Fire department gave us the all clear that we could go back into the hotel. On our way back in we only seen a maintenance guy, no management, no front desk. Not sure what happened there. I do understand these things happen not complaining about that. Would have just liked a bit of an explanation to what was going on. I had a 3 and 5 year old freaking out. Needless to say they never went back to sleep that night. Next day had to cancel our plans because ever one was so exhausted! We did get a letter the next day around 3pm explaining what happened. I am sure enough people complained so they had to give an explanation finally. Management could have handled this a little better. Overall I would probably return but will check out the Wyndham Hotel next door first. Read less
