Mayfair House Hotel & Garden

Coconut Grove, Miami

Virgin rating

The hotel

Mixing an intimate feel with a super-central spot in upmarket Coconut Grove, and the uber-cool styling you’d expect from a Miami hotel, The Mayfair has it all. In fact you don’t even need to venture out — the Miami scene comes to you, with the hotel’s Above Mayfair rooftop pool lounge featuring weekly ‘Sunset of Miami’ pool parties, Friday night happy hours, resident DJs, a curved Gaudi-esque seating wall complete with fireplace, a casual food menu, and custom cocktails. The rooftop is the hub of the action by day too, with its heated swimming pool and views over Miami and Biscayne Bay. Downstairs holds its own treasures though, with the Spartico trattoria’s authentic Italian dishes cooked up in an authentic Ambrogi oven, and the Jurlique Spa’s organic products.

Great hotel! Staff was super friendly and attentive. Bartenders Steven and Yago were terrific. Jason W. was incredible. Everyone made sure our stay was memorable. Hotel was beautiful and very clean. Service is great, everyone was polite with smiles everywhere! Definitely has an antique with luxurious atmosphere and attractions is superb. The pool is cozy although they were short on towels luckily I had some of our own. The view at the roottop is beautiful!! The food at the mayfair is delicious and tasty! It's really timeless

Neat Gaudi inspired hotel with lots of beautiful greenery. Enjoyed the rooftop pool and friendly service. They’ve got valet too (Fabian was awesome!). Location is very walkable to shopping and eateries as well as some parks. Definitely recommend.

Staying at Mayfair was honestly a bizarre experience. First of all, the building is old, but beautiful. The plants in the atrium are incredible, and the pool is great. Very nice architectural gem right in the heard of Coconut Grove. This hotel has terrible management… here is what happened: Day 1, in our room the sink, toilet, and shower were all leaking. Small drips of water so we used one of our towels to keep it from pooling. Day 2, the housekeeping came, and took the only clean towels that we had, and didn’t replace them. They also took our water bottles and some other strange things. I checked at the pool, but there were also no towels there. Around noon, I went down to the front desk and asked for some towels so that we could shower before dinner. At 6:30pm that night - they still hadn’t brought us any towels. I went back down to the front desk and the manager with the man bun told me they had a problem with the housekeeping and were working on getting more towels. He said he would refund our meals that we had ordered from the pool and restaurant so far. There were no towels in the entire hotel, but he promised to refund those meals which seemed fair. They did bring towels a few hours later. The manager never refunded the meals. Day 3, while relaxing at the pool, they decided to have some obnoxious peloton workout class outside at the pool. Coach was yelling and everyone at the pool was annoyed. I also watched “Man Bun Manager” attempt to fix an issue where some guests had reserved a cabana but the hotel never put any sign to reserve it. Lol awkward. Around 1pm, everyone that had a cabana had to stand up and wait around while they put towels down on the cabana cushions. Weird and awkward. Upon leaving, I told the front desk employee about everything and he said he would get the meal refunds sorted out. I never heard from him again about that refund. A day after checkout I received a text message from “Robert T” asking when he could give me a call. I told him a day and time, Robert confirmed, then never called… Very strange for a hotel to have no towels, then offer to make things right, but then never actually make things right. Overall review: 4 stars for the actual building architecture, negative 6 stars for the terrible manager of this hotel. Total rating: -2, but I guess 1 star is the lowest I can give Read less

Wonderful to experience, from check in to check out. Felt attended to and cared about, thank you especially to Jason W, made our experience that much better! Made my husbands 30th birthday even more memorable. Thank you to all staff for such a warm welcome and stay!
