I never write reviews, and as I wrap up my last day here and it didn't improve I feel compelled. I was here on business, but I did have a choice and as a Gold elite Bonvoy, I opted for this place. (not that my status is particularly impressive, but I am loyal) My room was a side view, that's fine we often get crappy/no view rooms, but with the industrial grey decor it felt like a cell. Bleak and uninviting. Iasked if they had anything else available that wasn't so dark, nope. I asked for late check out, and begrudgingly they extended till noon, The pool area had great potential but had limited seating. Areas hadn't been cleared from when people had left so it was kind of trashy and unavailable. I figured I would walk to the beach after my work day as there was no room at the pool, and take advantage of the complimentary beach chair. You can't control nature, unfortunately, the seaweed was across the entire front. The complimentary chairs actually cost $22 if you want an umbrella, and I didn't feel like investing in that at 5pm to stare at seaweed and not be able to get into the ocean. As I said, this is not the AC's fault, but it was presented and promoted as the lovely beach front/ rooftop pool oasis and was a big letdown. If I had come here on vacation I would have been so upset and disappointed. Instead, I'll chalk it up to a ugh work trip. I'll survive, but if you work hard to save for a vacation and want a touch of luxe, this is not it. The breakfast was $15 for a croissant and some fruit, I learned my lesson and relied on Starbucks for the remainder of the trip. Read less

William at the beach is simply the best. A native of Miami he was really easy to chat with. Also helped me with the complimentary beach chairs and was really friendly. Since I went in the summer the beach had the sea weeds in some portion of it. But they cleaned it often.

This hotel is in the worst area. There is nothing around it. NO stores, no restaurants. Nothing. The beach is across the street and it sucks. The beach smells like sewage and that smell carries over to the hotel. The hotel itself was pretty nice. The room was good but the bathroom needed a cleaning. Seriously pick another property! Read less

My stay here July 4th weekend was fairly decent. A few staff members were very pleasant. I wish I could remember all the names to mention. The day before end of stay, my friend and I experienced discrimination. We decided to chill on the rooftop and after about a few minutes In I decided to go get some beverages we purchased earlier. When I returned to the rooftop I was told I could not bring outside food or drinks. I felt singled out and discriminated against as a black person. The other hotel guest on the rooftop were Caucasian and or Hispanic and the rules didn’t apply to them. When I reported it to management he said they were given accommodations. I feel the rules should apply to all guest and if accommodations are made for one group of people, it should apply to all. I didn’t make a big fuss. I just know my return to Miami , I will not be staying here. Read less

AC Hotel in Southbeach is great. Especially enjoy visiting with William who works on the beach. He is always professional, energetic, helpful and a joy to talk with. I plan my beach visits based on when I know William is working.
