Image of the Tripadvisor rating Too much construction in the area, not worth the price compared to other area hotels

When I originally booked, I had it in my mind that it would be a relaxing, quiet beach vacation since the hotel was a bit more north of the main spots of South Beach, but still close enough to be easily bikeable. Reality was far from expected. There’s so much construction going on around the area that there’s a fair amount of traffic noise from drivers honking at each other and it’s a pain to get anywhere, even just walking let alone bike. A lot of parts of the walkway parallel to the beach are closed, so to bike/walk to Ocean Drive/Lincoln Road/etc would involve going along Collins, which is also full of construction with multiple parts of sidewalk closed. Also, while the hotel is just a block across from the beach, the hotel doesn’t have their own beach area to rent chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas from so you’d have to find a public one. The hotel and room themselves were fine. Historic Art Deco building, but standard chain hotel decor inside. Cleanliness was standard and as expected from a mid range hotel brand. The staff were nice, but we were given a room with two queens even though the booking was for a king bed. I didn’t bother complaining because it was Valentine’s weekend and the place was sold out... it wasn’t worth the extra effort for me since we got a really low rate via Trip.com versus the hotel’s website. There was a $400 difference between prices for 4 nights for the same room but Hilton wouldn’t do a price match because the cancellation policies were different by 2 days. Overall I’d give the place 3 stars because the room was clean and I had a pleasant stay overall. But I definitely wouldn’t stay here (or the area) again anytime soon because of all the construction, nor would I ever pay the hotel’s market rate that’s on par with other hotels in the area because of missing things like a pool, parking, and beach amenities that other hotels in the area have for around the same price. Had I paid the price from the Hilton site, I probably would have given 2 stars. Read less

Room was fine, did not notice any cleanliness issues. I thought front staff was fine, helpful and friendly. Problem is parking. We paid $35/day to park at AC Hotel which was apparently the going rate in the area. I'm a diamond member and I guess I was expecting a little more. Basically it was a clean room by the beach. Nothing more.

Don’t expect a warm, comforting hello when you arrive, staff on the phone are rude and could not supply simple directions on where to park. Place is a dump and not worthy of the Hilton name. Burn your clothes after your stay.

Location is great very close to the beach which is the only reason why I am giving it 2 stars because of location. Otherwise 1 star for sure. Read less

During a recent stay at this hotel from Philly, myself and one of my girlfriends arrived in the early morning hour of 1:30AM and greeted by a nice gentleman named Lavaris. He checked us in quickly and we were off to our room only to find that it had a King size bed. We made our way back down to the front desk to request a room with 2 beds which Lavaris took care of immediately and back to the elevator we went. Our room was on the fourth floor with a view of the side street which came in handy when wanting to check on our rental car. The hotel website states they have free parking but there is only street parking which is $2/hr or you can park at the AC Hotel which is a block away at a rate of $35 plus tax with In/Out privileges. I plan to write to Hilton’s headquarters because this “amenity” is a common complaint amongst other travelers but yet it has not been removed from the website. I selected this hotel because of that and didn’t think to double check it until after I read some of the reviews from other guests. We lucked up and found street parking so I used the ParkMobile app to pay for parking which was less than the cost of the garage a block away. Street parking is free from 3AM to 9AM so it worked out that we saved money by not parking in the garage. Besides parking on the street on the side of the hotel was more convenient than parking in the lot a block a way. The water pressure in our room was fantastic. The water was hot and refreshing after a day out and about Miami. The beds were comfortable; the WiFi was good; the snacks down at the front desk came in handy when Uber Eats didn’t show up with the food we ordered. The hotel has tables and chairs outside on Collins Avenue so that as a nice place to hang out and be socially distant. I learned that rats climb trees in Miami which was hilarious to me. One other thing to note with this hotel is that there are no “resort fees or hotel imposed fees” but they offer beach towels if you need them. Read less
