Mondrian South Beach

South Beach, Miami

The hotel

There are no rooms! Every guest gets a studio or apartment — the convenience of a residence with the luxury of hotel service. The Mondrian South Beach is a curved piece of Modernist architecture with an interior designed by controversial Marcel Wanders. The style is definitely post Minimalist with a sophisticated colour palette of gold, black and white. With his trademark chandeliers throughout, comfort in the sensual sense is given centre stage inside and out. The pool is set amid sun-soaked lounge pillows, lush gardens hung with hammocks and landscaped into a labyrinthine trail with lounge areas, secret pathways and kissing corners. The setting is straight out of CSI Miami, the silhouette of downtown Miami is behind the expansive blue waters of Biscayne Bay. Because it faces west it also has the sunsets; best watched with a mojito in hand from the bayside bar or private rooftop bar.

Our room was incredible with an amazing view. Spent the day enjoying the pool, daybed, (delicious Prosecco), restaurants breakfast, lunch and dinner) and water sports. This was my daughter's first time in Florida and now she wants to move down and work for Mrs. Zawadzkas. I would also like to thank the concierge, Charlie for all her help making sure we made the most of our short stay. We so enjoyed the Prosecco and strawberries. Thank you to the team at Bou Yah watersports for 2x jet skiing and paddle boarding. We had a blast! Amazing Service Carrie Zawadzkas!!!! Read less

The concierge was so incredibly helpful from the moment of arrival. She was generous enough to share her mobile phone and be available after hours and by text. The suggestions provided and the activities booked turned out to be un-believably fun and totally unique (El Tucan club was WOW!) Truly fantastic service and experience.

Spent a few days in Miami recently at the Mondrian Hotel. Great Views, Well decorated rooms and excellent staff assisting your every need. Andrea B served us multiple times at the pool with drinks and the best fish tacos I have ever had in my life. I'll be asking for Andrea next time I stay at the Mondrian.

Horrible experience! If I could leave zero star I would. Came for a vacation from Los Angeles. Horrible experience! If I could leave zero star I would. Came for a vacation from Los Angeles. Booked the rooms 3 months in advanced and called them for closest possible rooms because we booked 3 rooms. They couldn’t accommodate us. Fine! We checked in paid $450 per room per night for a Penthouse with the worst view. We walked in to the room, room smelled like someone just smoked weed. All carpets were dirty and stained in all rooms. Bathrooms’ sinks was so dirty with makeup stains on different spots. There were make up stains on walls and doors of bathroom. We asked for cleaning they said they are busy. We asked to changed rooms they said they don’t have anything available to accommodate us. More felt like they don’t care to even help us. We had to cancel our stay, find another hotel and move. So annoying so unprofessional. P.S. they didn’t even send an email to inform the guests that pool was not available for the Thursday and Saturday because of a show on Friday. We are coming to Miami for the pool but we cannot even use it? EPIC! Read less

I just checked in and I must say that my experience was one of the smoothest, effortless check in that I have had and I travel a lot.
