First off I’ll list the things wrong with the area and not the fault of the hotel . If you like the sound of powerful car engines roaring and revving at all hours this is the place for you . First off I’ll list the things wrong with the area and not the fault of the hotel . If you like the sound of powerful car engines roaring and revving at all hours this is the place for you . If you like hearing drunken people shouting and yelling at all hours again you’ll love it . Now the the hotel , the positive points are the staff are very nice and friendly and it’s clean . The downsides are the rooms are very basic , no fridge to put a refreshing drink in . No tea or coffee making facilities and the walls are very thin so you can hear next door very easily and the air con is very loud . The room we had was a bit tatty but clean . I do think that they shouldn’t advertise as providing breakfast as a banana and two rounds of bread on a polystyrene plate is not a continental breakfast in anyone’s book . They did have cereal on offer again in a polystyrene bowl . We ended up going out for breakfast every morning at a further expense as that was not an acceptable offering . I couldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone I’m afraid and we will never return to it on our regular visits to the wonderful city of Miami . Read less

Yes breakfast is basic, plastic plates etc, however if you know this before then what can you expect. Very good value plus it’s the quiet end of Ocean drive however lots going on. Really enjoyed our stay. The beach had quite a lot of seaweed however this was cleared the best it could be. Read less

Location was great, right in the middle of everything. The bad bit... breakfast. Self serve bread and a banana or cereal dispensers. That is not enough to be classed as breakfast. I opted for this hotel due to breakfast included but due to how poor it was only ate it once. The same restaurant the breakfasts in serves $2.99 after the comp breakfast is over. This includes eggs on toast/omelette options, great food. This is the breakfast that should be included in the stay, people would pay the extra $2.99 on the room rate for it, if money is the reason why breakfast is so basic. Read less

We stayed on the ground floor of the Ocean Five Hotel in May 2018. The Hotel is excellently located within very short walking distance to Miami Beach on Ocean Drive. The hotel exterior is Art Decor and presents well. The room we were in was very small, clean and located adjacent to a car park area which get quite noisy on weekends. Our stay was for 4 nights and the staff were very informative and spot on recommending tours. Breakfast in minimal but sufficient for us. Unfortunately we had very noisy neighbours in next room on two nights, we very little sleep was had by us and our travel companions in the room adjust to the hall from us. Loud TV shouting and carrying on thru to early hours of morning 3-4am. When speaking with staff they said we should have called however myself was a little afraid of the repercussions from the noisy patrons. Mind the staff did warn us that Miami Beach does get a little out of hand on weekends. We would have to agree. Though our experience in Miami Beach was so memorable because of the friendly people, sights and atmosphere. Read less

We stayed here for 5 nights from 6th - 9th April. We had a room one floor up at the back of the hotel accessed via the restaurant (Part of the hotel sits above an Italian restaurant). First things - staff were friendly and very helpful on concierge. Very pleasant and happy to help. Organised us a trip and really good people. Lewis, Andy and a Spanish speaking man (balding hair cant remember his name sorry but he was ace). Room was a bit of a disappointment at first - but we grew to like it as bed was comfy and it was pretty quiet with air con - bring ear plugs as it’s noisy. It was very dated and in need of modernisation- but a good location. Breakfast is terrible. I know the hotel says it’s ‘value added’ but simply it would be better for them if they didn’t provide it. Cheap bread, a banana (only), watered down orange juice and a poor cereal - all served in plastic glasses and polystyrene plates/bowls. In this era the use of those materials is inexcusable. Not only that but it’s a poor advert for the registrant. Anyone walking by would look upon the breakfast fare and avoid it. We did not eat there beyond the first day and I would not recommend that aspect. The hotel should either do it properly or not at all. Worse breakfast I’ve ever had in any stay including hostels. If you head south from the restaurant down Washington street, ocean drive or Collins drive there are some great places to eat and drink - and a very nice place next to a park by the cruise ships canal. Joes crabs very nice and prime Fish (although pricey). If you walk north along the front it gets a bit noisy with heavy dance music, cheap food and stuff aimed at a younger crowd - not criticising that aspect just not our scene. The hotel lent us an umbrella for the beach a we bought one too and left it there for others. It’s cheaper to buy one than hire one for the day. Beach is lovely Good 24/7 shop walgraves round the corner and a deli just next to it with great sandwiches. We got lunch there as it’s about 70% cheaper than on the beach. Hotel provides free towels for beach too. Beach was fab. Everglades was amazing and hotel worked ok for us. But expect a very basic room and definitely do breakfast elsewhere! We enjoyed Miami - and got to see Bad Boys 3 being filmed. Saw sharks and alligators too! Read less
