Location is great, probably the best about this hotel. 5 minutes to the beach, right at Ocean Drive and within the Art Deco District. You also get beach towels at reception, which is great. The valet parking is also convenient ($25 + tax). The rooms are very small, don't have enough space to put your things (3 people, 2 queen beds, no table and… Read more

The valet parking is also convenient ($25 + tax). The rooms are very small, don't have enough space to put your things (3 people, 2 queen beds, no table and chairs). You can also hear everything from the halls and your neighbours, but it didn't bother me while I was sleeping. The worst thing: the breakfast. It really is a joke and you should go eat out. One or another item was always empty - fruits, jams, toast (squished and deformed, really weird), coffee or the cakes. The breakfast room is dirty and the waitress does not speak ENglish. Would not stay here again, but close to the hotel (because of location). Read less

The location of the hotel is not bad. Right on ocean drive/fifth street which is the part of ocean drive which is a little more quiet. The room was clean but a little too small to fit the 2 beds and leave enough space to easily move around. The staff was very friendly, we could even park out rental bikes in the office for 1 night. The breakfast is the big loser in this hotel. It’s organised in the second building but I would not even call it a breakfast. Small carton plates, 10 different kind of coffee cups. Stone hard ‘croissants’. Just nothing about the breakfast is good. Parking 25 dollars per day of stay is considered normal nowadays in Miami beach. Read less

...so first off you have to remember this is Miami Beach...the home of awful service and hideously overpriced everything! Thus, for a price of around $120 for the one night we stayed before jetting off to the Caribbean, this was a bargain in peak August season. Yes, the view wasn’t great but we were quite high up and the breakfast may have been a bit of a joke but that was ok too. At the end of the day, the room was clean, the bed was half comfortable, the temperature was ok and the shower worked fine so it did the job. However, the real super deal here was the front desk staff. Not only were they super friendly on both check in and check out and really chatty (not just small talk), but they also went far above and beyond the call of duty when we got to our next destination and my niece realised she must have left her precious soft toy bunny in her room. After searching the bunny was found by housekeeping and subsequently returned to the UK, all thanks to the fab team at Ocean Five. This really was hospitality at its very best and a lovely change from the usual surliness you expect to find in Miami. Well done Ocean Five...you may run a basic hotel, but you run it well and you care about your customers, so I would highly recommend you to anyone. Read less

Check-in was quick, friendly and efficient. Rooms were clean and the memory form mattresses cool and comfortable. Internet access was free and fast. Continental breakfast is provided. These are the highs. The room was small and cramped with little storage. I'm glad we only stayed two nights before a cruise. While the A/C did a good job of cooling it was obnoxious with regards to noise. Noises it made in sequence: whisper quiet fan for a few seconds; pressure washing the outside wall, jet landing in the background, buzz that grew in intensity until the compressor shut down. Repeat...frequently. The units in our friends' room was similar. The sink area (in the room proper) was tiny with no shelf or other storage. Read less
