Royal Palm

I was not going to write this review but things can’t be rectified if I don’t. Upon arrival the guys at the front doors were welcoming and whenever we came in or out they always spoke and acknowledged us. The reception area was lovely and check in was smooth. The lift and corridors needed hoovering. Paint was peeling off the woodwork and there were marks on the walls which was in need of a lick of paint. Our room was gorgeous which compensated for the corridors etc. We made an order at the pool bar they are definitely lacking customer skills just a smile would have made a difference. The pool area was absolutely filthy with food debris on the sun beds which looked liked it had been there for ages and rubbish under them (not what you would expect from a 4* hotel. We didn’t spend any more of our time around pool. We passed the pool towel collection kiosk each day when we went to the beach just a mention whenever the older man and an older lady (sorry didn’t get their names) were on duty they were so polite and always spoke to us as we passed. The beach was beautiful however the staff are rude and unapproachable. We went for towels and were told to come back at 9.30am. We waited until 9.45 as we had seen them taking towels out to certain beds. I went over and asked politely if I could have two towels please he picked them up in his fingers and dropped them in my hands and walked off. They are probably the most rude and ignorant people I have ever come across and they looked as though they really did not want to be in that job. I won’t tar them all with the same brush as there was one young man about 19 years old who was there roughly on our 3rd day who was so lovely and pleasant. For the rest of them some training in customer care would not go amiss. We don’t want to come on our holiday and feel unhappy so for this reason we would never return to this hotel. Remember a smile or a little chat costs nothing and goes a long way. Read less
